Apparatus for treating loose goods, in particular fibrous materials. The present invention relates to a device for treating loose goods, in particular fibrous materials, by means of direct contact between heated or cooled surfaces and the. Good to be treated, which device has two cooperating, mutually movable hollow cylinders, of which at least one is designed as a heatable or coolable jacket surface.
The device according to the invention is. characterized by the fact that one cylinder is eccentric within the other. is stored. in such a way that the item to be treated is periodically pressed between the inner surface of the outer cylinder and the outer surface of the inner cylinder and released again.
An exemplary embodiment of the rain state of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing. They show: FIG. 1 a longitudinal section through the device and FIG. 2 a cross section along the line 11-1I in Pig.1.
The material to be treated is introduced through the openings 13 and enters the space formed between the cylinders 4 and 6. The inner cylinder 4 becomes. eccentrically carried by the outer cylinder 6 in the bearings 9 and 7 6 and is movable with respect to the outer cylinder 6, which in turn is arranged stationary on a carrier 1. It could also be movable in a suitable bearing.
To treat the material, a heating or cooling liquid is introduced into the cylinder 4 through the pipe 17 and the airtight stuffing box 20. In a similar manner, this liquid is drained through the gland 10 and the pipe 8.
The drive of the inner cylinder consists of two gear wheels 15 and 21 which are driven by an electric motor 22. The outer cylinder is provided on its underside with openings 24, 25 through which the treated material can be taken from the apparatus in batches. The reference numerals 3 and 7 (in Fig.1 and 2) denote a device for discharging any condensate that may collect at the bottom of the cylinder. This emptying takes place once per rotation of the cylinder.
The apparatus now works as follows: After part of the loose material has been introduced through the upper openings 13, these are closed ver by means of doors and the drive 22 for moving the cylinder 4 is put into operation. As a result, the material is periodically pressed in a wedge shape between the outer surface of the inner cylinder and the inner surface of the outer cylinder, causing the desired change in the state, and then released and loosened again from the surfaces mentioned. This loosens the good. periodically, and the position of the individual parts in relation to the others changes.
There is also a rest period when the parts are detached from one another during the loosening. This type of treatment. is of great importance for cellulose derivatives and similar fibers.
According to the drawing, the inner cylinder 1 is provided with drive elements 5, 11, 19, which support the movement of the goods and enlarge the Iiontakt.flächen, which move the goods. The elements 5 and 19 consist of radial ribs which are arranged on the end walls of the cylinder 4 and prevent the material from clumping together at this point. According to another embodiment, the outer cylinder can be designed as a completely closed pressure and / or vacuum chamber.
The 'described device is used for batch drying of loose material such. B. of cellulose fibers, but the end walls of the outer cylinder can be provided with openings, which allow the apparatus to be continuously clicked and emptied.
