coupling device with freewheel in particular for a timepiece The object of the present invention is a freewheel coupling device , in particular for a timepiece, in which the two driving and driven elements are coaxial, one of them being integral in rotation with a cam which can act on a part in an arc of a circle arranged in a circular hollow of the second element and on which the cam can act to block it against the second element or to drive it freely in the same direction.
This device is characterized by the fact that the part in the arc of a circle has, at one of its ends, two planes inclined in the opposite direction, one interior on which acts a boss of the cam to block the part against the second element and the other, exterior, on which another boss of the cam acts to drive it freely in the same direction.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention and an application to a self-winding watch.
Fig. 1 is a plan view of this embodiment; figs. 2 and 3 show in plan and in elevation an application to said watch.
In fig. 1, the toothed wheel 4, which constitutes the driving element, is fixed on a square of the shaft 1 as well as the cam 3. The toothed wheel 2, which constitutes the driven element and which is coaxial with the wheel 4 , has a core in which the part 5 is freely mounted in the form of an arc of a circle; this part could spring slightly against the edge of the wheel core 2.
The operation of the device is as follows: when the shaft 1, driven by the wheel 4, rotates in the direction indicated by the arrow 6, a boss 7 of the cam 3 comes into contact with the interior inclined plane 8 of the part 5 The resultant of the forces applied at the point of contact of the two parts 3 and 5, presses the part 5 against the edge of the core of the wheel 2. The wheel 2 is then driven in the same direction as the wheel 4.
When the shaft 1, driven by the wheel 4, turns in the direction indicated by the arrow 9, the contact of the boss 7 of the cam 3 with the inclined plane 8 of the part 5 is broken. The cam traverses a certain angle until the moment when the bosses 10 and 11 of this part come into contact with the external inclined planes 12 and 13 of the part 5 which is then driven freely in the same direction as the part 3 The wheel 2 is then idle on the shaft 1.
In the application of fig. 2 and 3, two devices are used according to FIG. 1. 11s are placed such that the wheel 4 of the first device meshes with the pinion 14 of the oscillating mass and with the wheel 4 'of the second device; the wheels 2 and 2 'mesh with the wheel 15. This wheel leads to the barrel shaft let, not shown in the figure.
The operation is as follows When the pinion of the oscillating mass rotates in the direction of arrow 16, the wheels 4 and 4 'are driven. The wheel 2 by means of the coupling device described is driven in the same direction as the wheel 4 and drives the wheel 15 in the direction of the arrow 17. The wheel 15 drives the wheel 2 'in the opposite direction. at 4 ', this freely, thanks to the coupling device.
The opposite phenomenon occurs when the pinion of the mass turns in the other direction. The circular arc piece 5 could have small projections on its outer periphery to facilitate its blocking against the wheel 2.
