Dispositif avertisseur
Warning device
Many warning devices are already known intended to emit a signal after a predetermined period of time. Some of these devices include a clockwork mechanism and a warning mechanism arranged between two plates and driven by a single mainspring armed by means of a rotary button secured to a pin inserted between the plates and carrying at least one sector. toothed intended to enter successively into engagement with a mobile of the clockwork mechanism and a mobile of the warning mechanism.
In these devices, the spring is generally housed in a barrel mounted on the outer face of one of the plates, but this is a relatively expensive construction and which takes up a fair amount of space in height.
These are the reasons why the spring has sometimes been mounted directly between two plates, to save space, or even in a fixed cap, mounted on the outside face of one of the plates, with the aim of achieving a construction cheaper. These last two provisions are not, however, satisfactory either as regards the retention of the spring. Indeed, this spring being stretched and relaxed very quickly and the meter being able to be subjected to shocks, it is difficult to prevent the spring from moving and coming sc block either against the plate or against the cap.
The present invention relates to a warning device obviating these drawbacks and in which the end of the axis opposite to that which carries the button passes through the plate and has a bung to which the inner end of the mainspring is hooked. The outer end is fixed to the plate. This device is characterized by the fact that this plug has a notch on which is engaged a flange covering the spring to hold it in place.
It is a simple but effective improvement with the advantages of inexpensive manufacturing, easy assembly and construction that takes up little space in height while keeping the spring perfectly in place.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a plan view thereof, seen from above, and FIG. 2 a section along II-U of FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 shows a plan view of the clockwork mechanism and the warning mechanism.
Figs. 4 and 5 are sections developed respectively according to
IV-IV and V-V of fig. 3.
Fig. 6 shows a detail of FIG. 4 on a larger scale.
The device shown in the drawing comprises a conventional clockwork mechanism and a warning mechanism, the moving parts of which pivot in bearings mounted in two plates 11 and 12, kept at a distance by pillars 13, The watch movement comprises a sprung balance 14 cooperating with an anchor 15 and an escapement wheel 16, the pinion of which is driven by a detent gear comprising three wheels 17, 18 and 19, the last of which meshes in a toothed sector 25, fixed on a central shaft 27.
The warning mechanism comprises a hammer 20 driven in its reciprocating movement by a wolf tooth wheel 21 cooperating with pins 22 and controlled by a wheel 23 whose pinion meshes in a circular sector 26 also fixed on the central arbor 27.
The lower end of the shaft 27 (fig, 5) passes through the plate and has a bearing surface 60 and a thread 61 on which the plug 28 is locked, the axial position of which is thus defined and on which the spring 29 is fixed by means of a pin 62.
The bung also has a notch on which engages a flange 63 intended to hold the spring in place and to prevent its axial deformation during its winding or unwinding. Of course, this flange could also be welded, crimped or riveted. The construction which has just been described allows particularly easy assembly with a minimum of elements,
The other end of the shaft 27 enters a control button 33.
This button has a radial blade 32 inserted into its mass and penetrating into a corresponding countersink 31 made at the end of the shaft 27.The whole of this device is contained in a case composed of a bridge 38 and a caseband-bezel 39 having a central opening 40 for the control button 33.
The latter has a mark cooperating with the time indications arranged on the bezel. To allow the control knob to be turned without actuating the cogs of the clockwork mechanism and of the warning mechanism, each of these cogs has a mobile fitted with a coupling to greasy friction. Ctest thus that the mobile 19 and 23 each have a pinion integral with i2arbre of the mobile, as well as a wheel mounted idle on this shaft, an elastic spherical cap 35 being elastically interposed between these two parts so as to couple them with a certain predetermined friction.
The operation of the device is as follows:
When the mechanism is at rest, the index of the button is slightly in front of the number 2. To charge the spring, we turn the button in the direction of the arrow in fig. 3 entralnant ltaxe and consequently the two sectors 25 and 26; the latter is then engaged with the pinion of the mobile 23. After a rotation of about 1600, when the index arrives in front of the number 0, the sector 26 leaves the mobile 23 while the sector 25 engages with the pinion of the mobile 19.
We stop the rotation of the button between the digits 0 (zero hour) and 2 (two hours) more precisely at the right time corresponding to the period of time that we want to elapse before the alarm operates 0 Of course this rotation of the button only drives the pinions of mobiles 23 and 19 which slip with heavy friction on their wheel.
When the button is tried, the toothed sector 25 acts under the action of the spring 29 on the mobile 19 which drives the clockwise movement; the button therefore goes back until at the level of the number zero, the sector 25 suddenly releases. the mobile 19 and the sector 26 mesh with the pinion of the mobile 23. At this moment the warning device is suddenly started up until the moment when the button reaches its original position in the vicinity of the number 2.
