On a déjà imaginé certains dispositifs éliminant cet inconvénient.

Warning device Numerous warning devices are already known intended to emit a signal after a predetermined period of time. Some of these devices include a clockwork mechanism and a warning mechanism arranged between two plates and driven by a single mainspring armed by means of a rotary button integral with a pin inserted between the plates and carrying at least one sector. toothed intended to successively engage with a mobile of the clockwork mechanism and a .mobile of the warning mechanism.
However, these devices present the risk that the first tooth of the toothed sector braces itself with the tooth of the mobile with which it must come into engagement, and this because the angular position of this mobile is not exactly defined. Certain devices have already been devised which eliminate this drawback. In some of these, the first tooth is truncated straight so as to reduce the risk of arching without however eliminating it entirely.
In others, more modern, the pinion of the mobile is held in a position such that, during engagement, the truncated tooth can never meet the tip of the teeth of the pinion, but the side thereof so to precisely avoid this bracing; such an arrangement is relatively complicated and its price proportionately too high.
The present invention specifically relates to a particularly simple device eliminating these drawbacks. This device is characterized by the fact that the. first tooth of the sector coming into engagement with the corresponding mobile is shaped so as to present, on the one hand, a radial leading flank passing through the extreme outer point of the drive of the primitive tooth and, on the other hand, an end concentric with said sector and passing through this point.
The drawing shows by way of example one embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a plan view thereof, seen from above, and FIG. 2 a section along II-II of FIG. 1. FIG. 3 shows a plan view of the clockwork mechanism and the warning mechanism.
Figs. 4 and 5 are sections developed respectively along IV-IV and V-V of FIG. 3. Finally, fig. 6 is a detail view illustrating the operation of the device.
The device shown in the drawing comprises a conventional clockwork mechanism and a warning mechanism, the moving parts of which pivot in bearings mounted in two plates 11 and 12, kept at a distance by pillars 13. The clockwork movement comprises a sprung balance 14 cooperating with an anchor 15 and an escape wheel 16, the pinion of which is driven by a gear train comprising three wheels 17, 18 and 19, the last of which meshes in a toothed sector 25, fixed on a central shaft 27.
The warning mechanism comprises a hammer 20 driven in its reciprocating motion by a wolf tooth wheel 21 cooperating with pins 22 and controlled by a wheel 23 whose pinion meshes in a circular sector 26 also fixed on the center shaft 27.
This shaft, arranged in the center of the device, is inserted between the two plates which its ends pass through, one to engage on a bung 28 to which the motor spring 29 is attached, fixed on the other hand on one of the pillars 13 of the frame and the other entering a control knob 33. This good

ton has a radial blade 32 inserted into its mass and penetrating into a corresponding countersink 31 made at the end of the shaft 27.
The whole of this device is contained in a case composed of a back 38 and a caseband-bezel 39 having a central opening 40 for the control button 33. The latter has a mark cooperating with the time indications arranged on it. glasses.
To make it possible to turn the control knob without actuating the cogs of the clockwork mechanism and of the warning mechanism, each of these cogs has a mobile fitted with a greasy friction coupling. Thus, the mobiles 19 and 23 each have a pinion integral with the shaft of the mobile, as well. a wheel mounted idle on this shaft, an elastic spherical cap 35 being elastically interposed between these two parts so as to couple them with a certain predetermined friction.
The operation of the device is as follows When the mechanism is at rest, the index of the button is slightly in front of the number 2. To charge the spring, the button is turned in the direction of the arrow in fig. 3 driving the axis and consequently the two sectors 25 and 26; the latter is then engaged with the pinion of the mobile 23. After a rotation of about 1600, when the index arrives in front of the number 0, the sector 26 leaves the mobile 23 while the sector 25 engages with the mobile pinion 29.
The rotation of the button between the digits 0 (0 hour) and 2 (2 hours) is stopped, more precisely at the place corresponding to the lapse of time after which we want to see the alarm function. Of course, this rotation of the button only drives the pinions of the wheels 23, 19, which skid with heavy friction on their wheels.
When the button is released, the toothed sector 25 acts under the action of the spring 29 on the mobile 19 which drives the clockwork movement; the button therefore goes back until the moment when at the level of the number 0, the sector 25 suddenly releases the mobile 19 and the sector 26 engages the pinion of the mobile 23. At this moment the warning device is suddenly activated until 'when the button reaches its original position in the vicinity of the number 2.
The two toothed sectors 25 and 26 must therefore engage twice in their respective pinion and this once during reassembly and once during the relaxation of the mechanism. As these mobiles do not have defined angular positions relative to each other, bracing is always possible.
To remedy this defect, the first tooth of each sector has been truncated (see fig. 6) so that it has, on the one hand, a radial leading flank 50 passing through the point 51 of the outer end pipe of the tooth. primitive and on the other hand an end 52 in the form of an arc of a circle, also passing through point 51 and whose center coincides with that of the sector.
Under these conditions, and if the angle 51 is sufficiently sharp, the tooth 53 will slide in all cases either along the side 50 or along the end 52, without the possibility of an overhang between the two points.
