Masonry apparatus The present invention relates to a masonry apparatus intended to replace the trowel for the construction of brick or chipboard walls and to automatically deposit the desired thickness of mortar on a row of bricks or chipboard. , and possibly also to automatically plug the vertical joints.
For this purpose, the apparatus according to the present invention is characterized in that it is constituted by a bottomless box, the width of which is that of the wall to be built and of which one of the transverse faces is, on at least part of its width, arranged to leave a passage of a height corresponding to the thickness of the layer of mortar that one wishes to deposit; in this way, by sliding this device on the row of bricks or agglomerates which has just been placed in the direction opposite to that of said face, the device leaves behind the desired layer of mortar, an adjustable shutter deli - preferably moth the height of said passage.
Sui vant one embodiment, two adjustable flaps are provided, delimiting two lateral passages, while no passage is provided in the central part of the device. According to another embodiment, a single adjustable flap controls the two side passages.
The apparatus is preferably completed by two lateral wings which extend it towards the rear, arranged to closely frame the two facings of the row to be mounted, so as to prevent the deposited mortar from flowing laterally; two other side wings can be provided towards the front of the device, extending downwards, so as to closely frame the two facings of the row previously assembled to guide the device and automatically plug the vertical joints of said rank.
The device can advantageously be supplemented, in particular when it comprises two lateral steps, by a longitudinal part placed along its axis, connecting its two transverse faces, with a section in the form of a V or an inverted U, the wings of which are at the right of the inner edges of the two aforementioned passages, which facilitates the distribution of the mortar between these two passages.
The single figure of the appended drawing represents, by way of example, in perspective, in elevation, an embodiment of the present invention The apparatus shown is constituted by a bottomless box, with two vertical longitudinal sides 1, a transverse side 2 inclined inwards, and a transverse side 3 inclined outwards; at the lower part of the transverse side 3 are laterally provided passages that adjustable flaps 4 can partially close; a buttonhole 5 and a wing nut 6 allow their adjustment; they are terminated by an edge 7 cut in sawtooth.
The longitudinal sides 1 have rearward extensions 8; they are reinforced by a frame 9 integral with two wings 10 provided towards the front of the device and directed downwards to frame the row of bricks or agglomerates which has just been mounted. Maneuvering handles 11 and 12 are provided at the front and at the rear; a central longitudinal part 13 divides the device into two equal compartments each corresponding to one of the openings regulated by the shutters 4.
It will be appreciated that with such an apparatus, a maneuver can deposit very quickly, and without any loss of material, the desired thickness of mortar on the row which has just been fitted, by automatically blocking the vertical joints of said row.
We can have different devices for all usual wall thicknesses; one can also consider using the same device for these different thicknesses by making the frame 9, the rearward extensions 8, and the downwardly extending sides, integral, on each side, with the inner edge of a horizontal pla that can be fixed in different positions, corresponding to the width of the wall to be mounted, relative to the body; the central longitudinal part creating an area where the apparatus does not deposit any mor tier may be of adjustable width; a device can be provided to facilitate the evacuation of the mortar.
