Description

Tile The present invention relates to a tile, characterized in that it comprises a part projecting on its upper surface and forming a snow stopper, and an internal channel extending over a part at least of its length and forming ventilation channel.

Until now, clay tiles have been known, these tiles being massive and not having ventilation channels. Ventilation tiles were also known, in particular tiles made of sheet metal, but not having snow stops. The object of the invention is to provide a tile making it possible to perform the two functions above, of a simple and economical construction.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the tile according to the invention.

Fig. 1 is a view from above.

Fig. 2 is a section taken along line 2-2 of FIG. 1.

Fig. 3 is a section taken on line 3-3 of FIG. 1.

The tile shown, in sheet metal, comprises an upper plate 1, folded at right angles to form two parallel side surfaces 2. These are also folded at right angles to form flanges 3 extending outwardly of the tile. . The latter comprises a lower plate 4 extending over only part of the length of the upper plate 1. The plate 4 is fixed by folded tabs 5 to the flanges 3 of the upper plate, and it has a rib 6 which rests on it. against the upper plate 1 and forms with the side surfaces 2 and the plates 1 and 4 two ventilation channels 7 - communicating the underside of the roof with the outside when the tile is in place.

At one end of its upper face, the plate 1 carries a snow stopper 8 constituted by a pyramid with a triangular base fixed by welding or by riveting to the plate 1. The snow stopper 8 comprises a surface 9 perpendicular to the plate 1 and intended to hold snow when it accumulates on platform 1.

At the end of the tile opposite to that where the snow stopper 8 is located, the flanges 3 of the upper plate 1 are cut and folded down to form legs 10 so that the tile can be held on the slats of the roof provided for this purpose.

Alternatively, the tile could be not sheet metal, but plastic or fiberglass, for example.
