Shut-off device The subject of the present invention is a shut-off device that can be used for installation in pipeline installations.
Shut-off elements have already become known which have a piston which can be displaced in the axial direction and whose surface is sealed against the housing of the shut-off organ by two pipe rings. However, the previously proposed Ausitihrun- these shut-off devices showed various disadvantages, which manifested themselves in a relatively complicated shape of the housing or at least one of the sealing rings, especially when it was tried to arrange the connecting pipe sockets of the shut-off device on the same axis .
The shut-off element according to the invention has connecting pipe sockets arranged axially to one another and is characterized by the fact that the piston is guided in a cylindrical housing part whose longitudinal axis forms an acute angle of at most 450 with that of the connecting pipe sockets closes, and 'that the sealing rings run circularly in planes that are at right angles to the piston axis,
such that one of the sealing rings, at least when the shut-off element is closed, also encloses the cross section of its flow channel.
Shut-off cocks and valves are already known in which the key or the valve disc are arranged in a housing part arranged at an angle to the direction of flow, but these are not shut-off devices with an axially displaceable piston that only Man is sealed against the housing.
Embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are illustrated in the accompanying drawing, namely: FIG. 1 shows a first embodiment of a shut-off element, partially in longitudinal section, and FIG. 2 shows, in an analogous representation, part of a second embodiment of the shut-off - organ.
The shut-off element shown in FIG. 1. has two connection pipe stubs 11 and 12, which are arranged coaxially to one another and each carry a connection flange 13 . These pipe sockets form together with. a cylindrical housing part 14 the housing of the shut-off element.
The longitudinal axis of the cylindrical housing part 14 encloses an acute angle with that of the two pipe sockets, which is at most 450, but usually less. One pipe socket 12 is connected to one end of the housing part 14, while the other pipe socket 11 opens laterally into the housing part 14 under a slight bend, which has a lateral opening for this purpose B> 15 . The diameter of the cylindrical housing part 14 and that of the pipe sockets 11 and 12 are advantageously at least approximately the same, although this is not necessary in every case.
A cylindrical piston 16 is guided in the housing part 14 such that it can be displaced in the axial direction. It is provided with two circumferential grooves 17 and 18 , in which each an endless sealing ring 19 or 120 made of elastic is let in after rich material. These sealing rings run in a circle in planes that are at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the piston 16 .
One sealing ring 19 is arranged in such a way that, when the shut-off element is closed, d. h. in the illustrated position of the piston 16 encloses the cross section of the throughflow channel and is located to the right of the opening 15 according to FIG. 1.
The other sealing ring 20, on the other hand, is above the opening 15 and completely outside of the Durehilusskanal. While the sealing ring 19 together with the piston 16 serves to shut off the organ against flow, the other sealing ring 20 together with the piston has the task of sealing the housing from the outside so that no medium flowing through can find its way through the housing part 14 to the outside. The inner wall of the housing part 14 is completely smooth.
To actuate the piston 16 to open or close the shut-off element, a threaded spindle 21 is provided, which is connected to the piston at one end and is in engagement with a nut 22 designed as a handwheel. This nut 22 is rotatable at the free end of the housing part 14, but secured against axial displacement, ge superimposed. To guide the spindle 21 and the nut 2, 2, a ring washer 23 and two half ring washers 24 and 25 are attached to the housing part by means of screws 26 14 attached.
The annular disk pieces 24 and 25 have an inwardly projecting edge 27 which engages in a circumferential groove of the nut 22. At the free end of the spindle 21 ', a nut 28 is screwed onto a threaded shoulder 29 , which serves to make the piston displaceable to the right and down. in Fig. 1 . The spindle 21 has a continuous longitudinal groove 30 , in which a nose of the disk 23 , not visible in the drawing, engages in order to rotate the spindle when the nut is operated 22 to prevent.
It is a peculiarity of the shut-off element described that a part 14a of the wall of the cylindrical housing part 14 forms part of the wall of the flow channel. FIG. 1 shows that the flow channel does not have any sack-like expansion in which the organ could be held by the flowing medium and would be prevented from flowing freely.
The embodiment according to FIG. 2 differs from the example described in that the sealing rings 19 and 20 are not arranged on the piston, but on the housing part 14, and in fact they are circumferential grooves on the Inner wall of the housing part 14 is inserted. The cylindrical outer surface of the piston 16 is therefore completely smooth.
An embodiment is also conceivable in which one of the die rings 19 and 20 is accommodated on the piston and the other on the housing part 14 in an associated circumferential groove.
The mechanism for adjusting the piston can of course be of any kind.
According to Fig. 1, the outward, e, inverted plane. The flange surface of the connecting flanges 13 is each provided with an annular groove, which surrounds the flow cross-section and contains a sealing ring 31 made of an elastically flexible material. When installing the shut-off element, these sealing rings come to rest against a flat mating flange surface of the pipeline and prevent the medium flowing through between the flanges from escaping.
This makes it possible to wrench the fastening or the connection without the aid of screws or the like only by means of wing nuts, etc. tighten by hand, which in many cases where the installation is only needed temporarily, because of the time that can be saved Meaning is.
The housing of the shut-off organs described can be assembled from pieces of pipe with advantage.
