Process for the preparation of a copper-containing disazo dye. The subject of the present patent is a process for the preparation of a copper-containing disazo dye, which is that 1 mol of the diazo compound from the aminomonoazo dye, which is obtained by acidic coupling of dianotated 7-oxy-2-aminobenzene-4-sulfonic acid with 1 methoxy -3-aminobenzene,
Acylating the aminomonoazo compound obtained with 3-methyl-4-nitrobenzene-1-carboxylic acid chloride and then reducing the nitro group to the amino group, coupled with 1 mol of 2-benzoylamino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid and the obtained Disazo dye converted into the copper complex compound by treatment with a copper-donating agent under demethylating conditions.
In the following example, the parts are parts by weight. Example: 47.8 parts of the monosodium salt of the amino monoazo dye, which is obtained by acidic coupling of dianotated 1-oxy-2-aminobenzene-4-sulfonic acid with 1-methoxy-3-a.minobenzene,
Acylating the amino monoazo compound obtained with 3-methyl-4-nitrobenzene-l-carboxylic acid chloride and then reducing the nitro group to the amino group are dissolved in 900 parts of water. 24 parts of 30% sodium nitrite solution are added to the solution, it is cooled to a temperature of 5 using ice and 40 parts of 30% hydrochloric acid are quickly run into it.
After three hours of stirring at a temperature of 10-15, the dianotation is complete; the resulting suspension is now combined in the presence of excess sodium carbonate with an aqueous solution of 36.5 parts of 2-benzoylamino-5-oxy-naphthalin-7-sulfonic acid sodium. The new disazo dye is formed instantly.
It is separated from the warm solution using sodium chloride, then filtered off and dried. It is a dark powder that dissolves in water with a red color and in concentrated sulfuric acid with a blue-red color.
For conversion into the copper complex compound, 85.4 parts of the disodium salt of the disazo dye are dissolved in 2000 parts of water. 250 parts of a copper oxide ammonia solution containing 25 parts of crystallized copper sulfate and 45 parts of 25% ammonia solution are gradually added to the solution at 90 °. The mass is then heated to the boil for about 6 hours; boiled on reflux.
The disazo dye, which now contains copper, is separated from the coppering solution with the aid of sodium chloride, then filtered off and dried. It dyes cotton and fibers made from regenerated cellulose in red shades that are lightfast and washfast.
