Description

Evaporator for absorption refrigerators. The present invention relates to an evaporator for absorption refrigeration apparatus, which has two horizontally lying tubes which are coaxial to one another and which enclose the evaporator space between them.

In evaporators of this type, it is important that the refrigerant to be evaporated wets the largest possible surface.

To achieve this purpose, according to the invention, the outer wall of the inner tube which forms an evaporator wall is provided with intersecting grooves.

In the accompanying drawing, an exemplary embodiment of an evaporator according to the invention is shown, namely: Fig.l shows a longitudinal section through the evaporator, Fig. 2 a cross section of part of the evaporator inner tube on a larger scale and Fig. 3 a plan view to Fig. 2.

The vaporizer shown has two tubes 1 and 2 lying horizontally coaxially to one another, which are connected to one another at both ends and which enclose the vaporizer space 3. The refrigerant to be evaporated is fed to this evaporator chamber 3 through a pipe 4. An inert gas, for example hydrogen, flows through a pipe 5 to the evaporator.

The evaporated refrigerant, mixed with the inert gas, emerges from the evaporator through a pipe ö.

The liquid refrigerant to be evaporated drips from the tube 4 onto the wall of the inner tube 2. In order to now achieve a good distribution of the refrigerant on the tube 2 and thus wet a large surface of the latter, the outer wall of the inner tube 2 is with it See intersecting grooves 7 (Fig. 2 and 3), in which the refrigerant to be evaporated flows by capillary action.

The grooves 7 can advantageously be formed out as corrugations of said pipe wall.
