Polymerization plant. The subject of the invention is. a system for the polymerization of plastics applied to tape-shaped material. The facility is.
characterized. that to take on the plastic-carrying band-shaped goods in a housing around running goods carrier is used, which carries the goods during approximately one revolution by means of ent long its circumference attached support members in a star shape with a multitude of wedge-shaped inwardly protruding folds and takes along from a pick-up point to a drop-off point ..
The system is used, for example, for the washable fixation of equipment of the goods to be treated which contains curable plastics by heating, with polymerisation of the plastic taking place.
Equipment is understood to mean imprints, impregnations, finishes, etc. applied to the goods by printing on, spreading on, spraying on, etc., which either extend over the entire surface of the Gutbah NEN or only over parts of the same, for example, as a sample and can be pigmented or colorless. This equipment consists partly of a plastic which is still water-soluble and which is to be fixed on the goods so that they are washable when heated.
The tape-shaped material itself can, for example, consist of fabric, felt or paper, etc. The material carrier is preferably from above and on both sides of two adjacent U-shaped air chambers; which at the same time form and surround the housing, in the upper middle parts of which there are each a fan and preferably also a heater. The outer walls of the air chambers are expediently designed insulated in the usual way to prevent heat losses.
In addition, feed channels with nozzles are expediently arranged around the outer circumference of the goods carrier, through which at least one. Part of the air, which is circulated by means of the fan and supplied through one leg of each of the air chambers, is blown from the outside into the folds of the goods, after which the air, optionally together with further air flowing across the folds.,
through the other legs of the air chambers. is fed back to the fans.
To heat a particularly uniform treatment of the strip-shaped material, the air currents are circulated through the two adjacent air chambers and through the material carrier past the band-shaped material to be treated in two oppositely directed circuits.
An essential advantage of the system according to the invention is that, due to the star-shaped arrangement of the goods, a very large length of the strip-shaped goods can be held on the goods carrier in relation to the size of the goods carrier.
The subject of the invention is illustrated in the drawing in two exemplary Ausfüh approximate forms on the basis of five figures. In the figures, the directions of flow of the treatment air and the directions of movement of the moving parts are indicated by arrows.
1 shows a vertical section through the system corresponding to the first embodiment, transversely to the axis of the revolving material carrier, FIG. 2 shows a vertical section through the system according to FIG. 1, above the material carrier through the center of an air chamber and further below through the goods carrier along its axis, Fig. 3 left a plan view of the left chamber and right a horizontal section through the upper 'part of the right chamber of the system according to Fig. 1,
Fig. 4 left a horizontal section above the conveyor belt and right a horizontal section at the level of the axis of the goods carrier through the system according to Fig.1. 5 shows a vertical section corresponding to FIG. 1 through a system corresponding to the second exemplary embodiment. According to the first embodiment, a hollow drum 1 sits on its two end faces depending on the radially outwardly outwardly ra lowing spokes' 2, which are connected by a ring 24 at their outer ends on each side of the drum.
The wreaths 2a are in turn connected to each other along the circumference by cross bars 3. The drum 1 is. by means of a shaft 4 that penetrates the same and is firmly connected to it and is rotatably supported on both sides in a bearing 5 each.
The body formed in this way serves as a carrier for the .the plastic to be polymerized carrying band-shaped good @ 8, which rests from the outside along the circumference on the cross bars 3 and between each two cross bars wedge-shaped inward, that is to the center of the goods carrier , is folded.
Both sides of the goods carrier are outside the outer circumference of the two drum front sides on a located near this circumference and to the axis of the drum 1 central circle projecting radially outward, by means of curves enbalinen 7 pivotable lever arms 6 on the goods carrier n are distributed around the drum that each of them bisects the cylinder sector formed between the drum axis and two adjacent cross bars 3, and of which the upper,
below the pick-up point pair inwardly pivoted into the fold 10 formed from both sides by the supplied and between the cross bars 3 let down in the material carrier down treatment material. becomes. During the subsequent rotation of the goods carrier, these lever arms remain in their pivoted-in position, parallel to the cross bars, until, after approximately one turn of the goods carrier, they are pivoted outwards again at the delivery point of the goods and so: the goods are released enable outside. As the carrier continues to rotate, the band-shaped fold-by-fold is in this way.
Good held by the lever arms 6 on the goods carrier and thus applied a large length of the goods in a small space on the goods carrier. The pivoting in and out of the lever arms 6 in and out of the folds only takes a relatively short time to complete, during which the goods carrier has rotated by 10 to 30 each. Accordingly, the lever arms 6 hold the band-shaped Well almost over the entire angular range of rotation of the goods on the goods carrier.
At the receiving point of the ban @ d'-shaped goods located above the goods carrier there is a conveyor belt 9, via which the goods are conveyed from the outside into the air chambers of the system and fed to the goods carrier from above.
The system also includes in the between the drum-shaped. Gutträger and the housing walls of the system on the circumference of the 'drum formed square spaces supply channels with nozzles 11, through wel che a part of the supplied air is blown from the outside into the folds of the goods.
The feed channels form on each side of the goods carrier components of the goods carrier from above and on both sides of the U-shaped air chamber, both sides of the vertical right through the axis of the goods carrier ge going level are directly next to each other. In the upper middle parts of the U-shaped air chambers there are each a blower 12 and 13 as well as two heating elements 19 per air chamber.
The belt-shaped material is fed to the conveyor belt 9 from a winding roller 18 via a transport roller 14, while the treated belt-shaped material is carried off via transport rollers 14 to a winding roller 15. At the drive of the carrier and the conveyor belt 9 takes place via V-belts. 20th
During the operation of the system and the corresponding guidance of the strip-shaped material over the rotating material carrier, the treatment air is circulated past the paths of the material past the paths of the material with simultaneous heating by the heating elements 19 in the adjacent U-shaped air chambers, with the fan 1'2 the air in one air chamber just circulates the other way around than it is done by the fan 13 in the adjacent chamber.
The air currents circulated in the two air chambers can be supplied with both fresh air and exhaust air removed in a manner not particularly illustrated.
As from the figures. 1, 2 and 4, in each air chamber the. In one leg, air flowing downwards both across the folds of the material webs through (parallel to the axis of the material carrier) and at the same time through the nozzles 11 arranged between the two legs on the circumference of the material carrier radially from the outside inward into the folds. of the good blown in. Thereby,
that, in addition, the direction of flow of the air flowing transversely - @ dLireh the folds when changing over the material lanes rotating with the material carrier from. the one in the other Luftkam mer reversed, an extremely even and relatively rapid polymerization of the plastic on the belt is achieved overall.
To apply the band-shaped goods to the goods carrier, manual support is required only once when the machine is first started, and the slight overpressure in the goods carrier caused by the circulating air facilitates the removal of the goods at the exit point. For the subsequent operation of the system. In principle, at the end of the work process, a leash belt is attached to the end of the item to be treated, which remains on the item carrier when the system is stopped and .due to this, both ends protrude from the system.
Before your next start of the system, the new Gilt to be treated is simply attached to the end of the belts in the system.
The system according to FIG. 5 corresponding to the second embodiment differs from the one corresponding to the first embodiment, essentially in that both the pick-up point and the transfer point for the strip-shaped material above the material carrier are arranged directly next to one another, so that to treat the goods in this case practically a full turn of the goods carrier who can use the.
In order to guide the hand-shaped material to be discharged laterally out of the system, a conveyor belt 16 corresponding to the conveyor belt 9 is used, from which the treated material, as in the first embodiment, is guided over a transport roller 14 to a winding roller 1'5 becomes.
In order to finally prevent the treated strip-shaped material from emerging upwards through the material entering directly next to it downwards. is drawn into the goods carrier, there is also a guide plate 17 at the exit point, which ensures that the goods are fed to the conveyor belt 16. Incidentally, the design of the air ducts and the air duct corresponds exactly to the first exemplary embodiment already described.
In addition to a pure air treatment of the goods, an additional chemical treatment of the same could also be carried out in some way in the plant. In the U-shaped air chambers, besides the radiators 19, devices for any kind of humidification of the air can be installed.
The goods carrier is circulated with a speed that is adapted to the required treatment: adjustable speed.
If the equipment contains a plastic that can only be hardened in the presence of organic acids, the acid, for example acetic acid, can be introduced in the form of vinegar vapor and the mixture of air and vinegar vapor in the air chamber over the drum and thus over the belt shaped good to be moved :. A completely even heat distribution is. This ensures that any harmful overheating or undercooling above or below a set temperature can be avoided with certainty.
It is not necessary for the product carrier to be constructed in the manner corresponding to the exemplary embodiments. For example, the arrangement of the rings 2a on both sides could then be dispensed with,
if each cross bar 3 would be attached to the inner drum 1 on both sides by just one spoke each. In this case, each cross bar together with the two associated spokes 2 forms a bracket, which can be made of wood or plastic, for example, or a piece of metal pipe and optionally provided with appropriate coatings.
It is entirely possible, if the feed channels to the nozzles 11, which are fixedly arranged in the vicinity of the circumference of the goods carrier, are designed accordingly and they are fed with a special, stronger air stream, so that the folds 10 of the strip-shaped goods within the Well shaped and held in wearer. It is necessary, however, that the fields between the cross bars 3 and the lever arms 6 are still covered with a net 21, for example made of plastic fabric.
The heat output supplied to the system is practically fully utilized for the work process by dividing the system into two air chambers: and, the corresponding guidance of the air flows, whereby the temperature range of the system extends up to around 200 ° C. The temperature and, if necessary, the humidity are regulated by thermostats or humidity regulators.
Finally, depending on the requirements of the desired treatment, the system can undergo a number of modifications and, for example, can also be used for the real fixing of pigment prints on a synthetic resin basis.
In the embodiment shown with a simple circulating product carrier and the two chambers surrounding the product carrier in a U-shape, the structure is extremely simple and the effect, particularly due to the simultaneous treatment of large quantities of the strip-shaped material, is extremely advantageous.
