Rotations-Explosionsmotor.
Rotary explosion engine. The present invention relates to a rotary explosion engine. The motor according to the invention has a housing and a rotor rotatably mounted in this, and according to the invention there are recesses that are evenly distributed on the circumference of the drum-shaped, conical rotor and serve as combustion chambers, and the rotor is in the conical bore of the housing for the purpose of setting the running clearance between rotor and housing can be adjusted axially.
Attached drawing shows. schematically an embodiment of the subject invention, namely Fig. 1 is a cross section through the Rota tion explosion engine and Fig. a view of the rotor with its bearing shown in section.
In the conical bore of a housing 1 of substantially cylindrical cross-section rotates a drum-shaped, conical rotor:, 2, which is keyed on a 3 'rotatable shaft 3 on a ball bearings. At the circumference of the rotor? evenly ver shares four recesses 4 serving as combustion chambers are provided. The recesses 4 have parts of an ovoid shape, a quarter of which is cut off at an angle to its longitudinal axis.
An air inlet 5 and a fuel inlet 6 are arranged on the circumference of the housing 1 in such a way that the distance between the air inlet 5 and the fuel inlet 6 is at least approximately equal to the distance between two successive recesses 4. In the area of the fuel inlet 6, an ignition element 7 is screwed into the housing and the recess 7 'receiving the spark plug has a length in the circumferential direction which corresponds approximately to the length of the recess 4 in the circumferential direction and up to the end of the bore 6 'of the fuel inlet is enough.
The ratios are chosen so that when a recess 4 is opposite the recess 7 'and the bore 6', the next recess 4 in the sense of rotation is located opposite the air inlet 5. In addition, the circumference of the housing has an outlet 8 for the exhaust gases. The diameter of the outlet 8 is adapted to the size of the recesses 4. If a recess 4 is opposite the outlet 8, the next recess in the sense of rotation is in the region of the ignition element 7 or the fuel inlet 6.
In the fuel inlet 6, a check valve is provided. This valve has a ball 9 which is pressed by a spring 10 against the fuel inlet 6, which is compressed when the fuel flows in.
The housing 1 and accordingly the rotor \? are conical so that the running clearance between the rotor and the housing 1 can be adjusted by moving the latter on the shaft 3, i.e. by axially adjusting the rotor, so that an oil film is present between the rotor circumference and the bore of the housing, wel cher for sealing purposes in the circumferential direction between the recesses is sufficient.
In the axial direction, the width of the recesses is and. of the rotor is chosen so that the strip on both sides of the recesses is sufficient for sealing purposes.
At both ends of the rotor is after its adjustment by a nut 10 and a lock nut 11 in its position secures ge.
The operation of the rotary motor is. following in the air inlet 5 adjacent recess 4 is compressed air is introduced; Through the rotation of the rotor '' this recess comes into the area of the fuel inlet 6, and gaseous, compressed fuel is allowed in or liquid fuel is injected, with eddies being generated in the resulting mixture due to the ovoid shape of the recess, as indicated by arrows in Fig 1 is shown, and this mixture is caused by the constantly glowing igniter 7 to explode.
At the same time the following recess 4 comes into the area of the air inlet 5 and is filled with air. Due to the explosion of the mixture, the first-mentioned recess comes into the area of the outlet 4, where the exhaust gases flow into the outlet 8 5 as a result of the prevailing overpressure, and the second-mentioned recess comes into the area of the fuel inlet 6 and that ent by the supply of fuel standing mixture will explode, etc.
The rotation of the rotor 2 taking place in the direction of the arrow is passed on to the unit to be driven via the shaft 3 and possibly a reduction gear.
The fuel inlet 6 can, if liquid fuel is used, be connected to an injection pump, wherein the shaft 3 can be mounted in roller bearings. Instead of providing separate fuel and air feeds, the mixture can be generated in a carburetor and fed to the recesses 4 via a mixture inlet either at 5 or at 6.
Gasoline, crude oil, ether, wax, etc. can be used to operate the engine. The fuels can be heated and gasified in the fuel tank by means of a heating element with thermostat regulation to a temperature of 70 to 10 (l, the gas being mixed with compressed air being introduced into the combustion chambers 4.
As a result of the gasification of the fuel in the fuel tank, high compression is no longer necessary because 10 to? 0 at are sufficient to gasify the fuel. The fuel tank can also be pressurized by means of a compressor. will.
The engine described is cooled by air. Can the rotor? be provided with channels, not shown, which are arranged in the direction of rotation and cooperate with corresponding holes in the housing 1 to.
Any number of recesses 4 can be made in this, depending on the diameter and width of the rotor. When the rotor turns 2? as many explosions are generated as there are recesses 4.
For higher outputs, several glow elements 7 and, accordingly, several fuel inlet openings 6, several outlet openings 8 and several air inlet openings 5 can be provided.
By adding oil to the fuel, the walls of the housing 1 and the rotor are lubricated during operation of the engine. The lubrication of the other elements can be done by a known circulation lubrication.
The advantages of the described engine over piston engines are as follows: The valves, the pistons, the connecting rods, the cylinder heads, the irregular centrifugal masses, the interruption with the distributor and the camshaft are omitted. The movements of the motor can be transmitted directly because no reciprocating movement has to be converted into rotary movement. It is impossible to freeze the motor as there is no water cooling.
Ignition faults, which frequently occur in piston engines, are also ruled out, since the engine described works without an interrupter or ignition distributor.
The exhaust gases emitted produce a recoil effect in the direction of rotation at the outlet, which creates the useful torque.
The motor described can be used for all types of drive, the gear shifts required for the piston motors are omitted, since the motor performs a rotary movement and the number of tours can be controlled as desired.
