Method for applying hose pieces made of elastic material, forming sleeves, to objects, in particular electrical cables, and two-pin pliers for carrying out the method. Two-pronged pliers for widening tube pieces that form nozzles made of elastic material, for example rubber or stretchable plastic, and applying these tube pieces to electrical lines under internal stress are known.
The procedure here is to stretch a piece of tubing in one direction using such two-pronged pliers, then insert an auxiliary fork into the tubing and use it to expand the tubing in a perpendicular direction so that the line to be provided with the tubing is opened can introduce into this. The use of an auxiliary fork as an additional tool makes the expansion process of the hose section tedious and time-consuming. In addition, such auxiliary forks are often not at hand when they are to be used.
The present invention now aims to remedy this deficiency and relates to a method for applying spouts form the hose pieces from elastically flexible gem material on objects, in particular on electrical lines, by means of two mandrel pliers, the mandrels of which are stretched into the spout when the pliers are closed and as then spread the grommet apart by opening the pliers under Auswei th.
This method is characterized in that two-pronged pliers are used, in which the spikes intended to receive the spout to be expanded are dimensioned so wide that, when the pliers are open, the space enclosed by the expanded spout is large enough to accommodate the spout. to introduce the object without the use of an auxiliary means into the widened opening of the spout.
The invention also relates to a two-mandrel pliers suitable for performing this method, which is designed so that one of the mandrels is wider than the other mandrel.
At least one of the mandrels of the pliers is preferably interchangeable. A major advantage of the two-pronged pliers according to the invention is their handiness (compared to pliers with more than two thorns) that they are particularly good for mass production of objects of the same or approximately the same diameter, which are provided with tube pieces to be expanded can be used.
Two example embodiments of the two-mandrel pliers according to the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing.
As a first embodiment, Fig. 1 shows a front view of a pair of pliers with two spikes of equal width.
Fig. 2 is a front view of the upper part of a pair of pliers according to the second embodiment with a wider and a narrower mandrel.
Fig. 3 is a side view of both implementation forms.
The pliers has two legs 1 and 2 which are held together by a hinge pin 3, around which they can be rotated when the lower ends of the legs are pressed. The upper ends of the legs 1 and 2 each carry a mandrel which - seen in the longitudinal direction of the pliers - has a certain expansion., Which is referred to as the width. becomes. This width is chosen so that the spout pulled over the mandrels is widened enough from the outset to be able to introduce the object over which the spout is to be drawn into it, even without an auxiliary fork - indicated by the circle 5.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, the mandrels 6 and 7 are of equal width, so that an approximately rectangular shape. the expanded spout 4- arises. In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, however, one mandrel 8 is approximately as wide as the mandrels 6 and 7 of FIG. 1, while the other mandrel 9 is narrower. The spout -I therefore assumes an almost triangular shape here, but its wider part is sufficient to introduce the object 5 to be provided with the spout - without having to additionally widen the spout with the auxiliary fork.
The side view of FIG. 3 shows with. from solid lines a mandrel of widths 6, 7 or 8 and in dashed lines a mandrel of width 9 (Fig.2). The spikes are tapered at the free end 10 or 11 to make it easier to attach the nozzles.
Fig. 3 also shows that the mandrels are exchangeable. They are attached to the legs of the pliers by screws 12. In this way, mandrels of other widths can be inserted quickly and easily. The mandrel width is based on the diameter of the object to be provided with the nozzle. A number of mandrels of different widths will expediently be kept in stock in certain stages in order to insert them into the pliers legs as required.
The two-prong pliers described can be used to advantage when objects of the same or approximately the same diameter are to be mass-produced with aLifzu-widening hose pieces, nozzles or the like and additional spikes (such as the third of a three-prong pliers) when pulling off the object with the Grommet are a hindrance.
Difficulties in pushing the spout onto the thorns and when pulling the spout together with the object introduced into it from the thorns do not exist, since the clear width of the spout is always chosen according to your outer diameter of the object and thus the respective thorn width corresponds.
