Cette force donne lieu à, des réactions d'appui et de frottement qui fixent les plaques au socle.
Le socle pourrait avoir partout la môme épaisseur qu'au bord antérieur; il peut être en bois ou en matière plastique moulée, de même que le levier 10, ou encore en métal léger fondu.
L'entaille 7 n'est pas indispensable, ni l'entaille 8, si le levier est assez court ou monté sur un socle assez épais pour qu'il soit plus haut que la partie rainurée.
