Fahrrad.

Bicycle. The invention relates to a bicycle in which the driving force on the front wheel and the steering force generated by pivoting the handlebar. be carried over to the rear wheel.
There are bicycles known in which the driving force is transmitted to the front wheel, but this is also used for steering, such. B. the well-known high wheel, in which two pedals were attached to a very large front wheel. There was no gear ratio on that bike, which is why the pedals turned at the same speed as the wheel. Since the front wheel also functioned as a steering wheel, you couldn't make sharp turns. A vehicle in which the driving force is transmitted to the front wheels is - be it a bicycle or an automobile - more stable when driving.
In a preferred Ausführungsbei game of the bicycle according to the invention, the front wheel and the pedals conveniently rotate around a common axis, and a gear ratio between the pedals and the wheel can be built into the hub of the wheel. Furthermore, the gear ratio can have a gear with internal toothing attached to the crankshaft, which is rotatably mounted in two bushes non-rotatably mounted on the frame, wel ches by two arms mounted on a stationary bush rotatably attached to gears with one on the same Bushing rotatably attached gear in.Ver- binding can stand, which carries pawls that actuate a ratchet wheel fastened inside the wheel hub,
or which gear is also connected to the wheel hub by another freewheel device known per se and can drive the same, with the entire gear ratio being included in the wheel hub.
Furthermore, a dynamo can be installed in the interior of the wheel hub in an empty space resulting therein, the poles of which are attached with the windings to the bushing fixed on the frame, and the permanent magnets of which are attached to the side surface of the hub and are rotated together with the hub the poles can rotate with the winding, the lines of which are led up through a hole in the socket and from there along the frame to a bicycle lamp. In another embodiment, a pump for inflating the tire while driving can be attached in the cavity of the hub. will.
The pump may consist of one or more pump cylinders which are attached to the inside of the cylinder wall of the hub, the piston rods being connected to a ring which is rotatably mounted on an eccentric which, in use, is coupled to a stationary sleeve. Finally, the gear ratio between the pedals and the hub of the front wheel can be made variable by replacing the gear with the pawls attached to the stationary sleeve with a sleeve that can be rotated on the stationary sleeve,
which carries the above-mentioned Sperrklin ken or otherwise in a known manner. the hub is in communication, wherein a number of gears with different numbers of teeth can be attached to the rotatable sleeve, which rotate freely around the sleeve and each separately. and can be coupled to the socket one after the other. These freely rotatable gears can again be connected to the gear stuck on the crankshaft by a step gear in a manner similar to that mentioned above.
In the manner described, an exemplary embodiment is obtained that can be used while driving. is very stable even on a very slippery road surface, since the tensile force is transmitted to the front wheel, with the bicycle not having any external parts such as chain or the like.
Some embodiments of a bicycle according to the invention are shown in the drawing.

Fig. 2 shows the same seen from the front. Fig. 3 shows part of a bicycle with another handlebar, see ge from the side.
Fig. 4 shows a vertical longitudinal section through a front wheel hub.
FIG. 5 shows a vertical cross section along the line V-V of FIG.
Fig. 6 shows a vertical longitudinal section of part of a front hub with built-in dynamo.
FIG. 7 shows a vertical cross section along the line VII-VII in FIG. 6.
Fig. 8 shows a vertical longitudinal section of part of an eileer front hub with a built-in pump.
Fig. 9 shows a vertical cross section along the line IX-IX of Fig. B.
Fig. 10 shows a vertical longitudinal section of a front wheel hub with variable translation, and Fig.11 shows a vertical cross section along the line XI-XI of Fig.10. The bicycle has a front wheel which is rotatably suspended in a frame 2, to which a saddle 3 is attached. The # ai front wheel 1 has a diameter of the usual size, while the rear wheel 4 is of smaller diameter.
The rear wheel 4 is rotatably mounted in a fork 5, which is rotatably attached to the Ge alternate 2 by the Ver extension of the fork 5 dhreh an obliquely located in the frame tube 6 at the front of the saddle 3 is passed. A handlebar 7 is introduced, the arms 8 end in two forks 9 to which two handles 10 are attached (Fig.l and 2). The handlebar 7 is rotated by the fact that one pulls one handle 10 upwards at an angle against seeing and pushes the second handle 10 downwards at an angle away from you. The way in which the handlebars are turned is therefore a little different from the usual one, which, however, will not cause any visual impairment.
However, by engaging a cardan joint 11 in the handlebar, a normal handlebar 12 can be used and the usual visual pivoting motion can thereby be achieved. Two pedals 13 are mounted so that they rotate about an axis which coincides with the axis of the front wheel 1. In the hub of the front wheel 1, as shown in Fig. 4 and 5, a gear ratio between the pedals lind the front derrad is provided. In the frame 2 two bushings 14, 15 are attached so that they cannot rotate.
In these sleeves 14, 15 a shaft 16 is rotatably arranged, which carry the pedals 13 at their ends. On the shaft 16, a gear 17 with internal teeth is also attached. On an arm 18 located on the sleeve 14, two gears 19, 20 are attached, of which the gear 18 is in engagement with the gear 17, while the two .Gear 19, 20 are in engagement with each other. The gear 20 is also engaged with a gear 21 rotatably mounted on the sleeve 14.
The arm 18 with the gears 19, 20 is turned downwards, with oil being filled into the hub 23 so that the oil level reaches the heights of the axes 19 and 20. This achieves effective lubrication of the entire decomposition system, and indeed of all its bearings, since the oil is thrown around as a result of the rotation of the gears and the hub. If you step on the pedals 13, the shaft 16 rotates and thus also the gear 17, thereby also the gear 21 rotates through the gears 19, 20 GE.
On the gear 21 there is a number of spring-loaded pawls 22 which engage in a ratchet wheel 24 attached to the inside of the hub 23, the near 23 carrying the spokes 25 of the wheel and being rotatably mounted on the bushings 14, 15. This gives you a freewheel that allows the front wheel to turn without taking the pedals with you. With regard to braking, therefore, a known per se, not shown brake drum must be brought to the z. B. denzug by a Bow on the handlebar, - e- is operated handle. It will be useful to also attach a brake to the rear wheel in order to be able to brake well without having to fear sliding of the bike th.
Instead of freewheeling with the pawls seated on the gear wheel 21, the gear wheel 21 can be operated by one of the freewheeling organs known per se, so that one can brake by stepping back on the pedals 13. .
In the construction described above, there is an empty space 26 between the gear 17, the sleeve 15 and the hub 23, In this space, a dynamo for a bicycle lamp or a pump can be attached to while driving inflates the tires, or possibly both.
6 and 7 show how a dynamo is arranged in the empty space 26. On the socket 1.5 some poles 27 with winding 28 are attached to the circumference, from which the lines on the frame 2 along after a lamp can be brought up NEN. One or more permanent magnets 31, which are attached to the side of the hub 23, are attached around these poles 27 with the winding 28. These permanent magnets 31 will rotate around the poles 27 while the bicycle is in motion, whereby a current is induced in the winding 28.
In Fig.8 and 9 it is shown how an air pump is arranged in the empty space 26. can be net. On the inner cylinder surface of the hub 23 some Pumpenzylin 32 are attached, from the bottom of which a hole 33 leads through the hub to a tube 34 located around the hub, from which a tube 35 leads to the valve, not shown, on the tire of the front wheel. In each Pum penzylinder a piston 36 with a leather collar is present, which is moved by a piston rod 37 attached to the piston and swingably attached.
The other end of all piston rods 37 is swingably attached to a ring 38 which is rotatably mounted on an eccentric disk 39. The Ex center disc 39 is rotatably mounted on the fixed to the frame 2 sleeve 15 and can be coupled to the same by means of a displaceable, spring-loaded wedge 40 who the. The wedge 40 can, for.
B. in a groove. are pushed up in the eccentric disk 39 by pulling on a wire or a chain 41 which engages a cam piece 42 which slides in a recess 43 in the sleeve 15 and which is activated by a spring 44 when the pulling element 41 is released in Fig. 8 ge showed position is withdrawn. When driving normally, the eccentric disk 39 can rotate freely around the bushing, and the rotation of the hub 23 will not cause the piston 36 to move.
If you want to pump air into the tire while driving, you pull on the chain 41, whereby the Noekenstück 42 is drawn under the wedge 40, which is pushed up here through the NTut of the eccentric disk, whereby the eccentric disk is locked with the bush 15 becomes. The rotation of the hub 23 and the cylinder 32 will now set the pistons 36 into action. In Figures 10 and 11 is. a variable translation device shown. The gear 17 seated on the crankshaft 16 is connected with its internal toothing through an intermediate gear 19 with a step gear 45.
In the example shown in the drawing there are three levels, but the number of levels can be changed as you wish. This step gear 45 is each one of its stages with one of the three change gears 46, 47, 48 in engagement, which gear wheels sit freely rotatable against each other on a sleeve 49 which is rotatably mounted on the sleeve 14 and via a freewheel or other known way, the hub 23 can drive.
To cause the hub 23 to be driven, one of the gears 46, 47, 48 must be coupled to the sleeve 49, which can be done in a manner known per se by means of spring-loaded wedges 50 which are inserted into a groove by a cam ring 51 52 provided in each gear are pressed up. The ring can go in one direction by pulling on a wire. or a chain 54 is moved, which is guided through a recess in the stationary sleeve 14 along the frame 2 after a not GE showed operating handle on the handlebar. If the ring 51 is to be moved in the other direction, the pulling element 54 is released, after which a spring 55 will pull the ring back.
