Fahrrad.
Bicycle. Bicycles, especially two-wheeled ones, which are driven by the rear wheel using the power of the legs, are known. When driving by means of the same, however, only part of the driver's physical strength is used.
The present invention is a bicycle which does not have this disadvantage. .
This bicycle is characterized in that, in addition to a rear wheel foot drive, it is provided with means to drive it by means of the handlebar through the force of the arms via the front wheel.
The means for driving the front wheel can consist, for example, in that the handlebar has pivotable levers and the upward and downward movement of the same is transmitted to the front wheel by means of pull rods via freewheels located on the front wheel axle.
The means for driving the front wheel can also be that the handlebar has pivotable levers, and the upward and downward movement of the same is transmitted by freewheels to a chain wheel on top of the handlebar, and that the movement of this chain wheel by means of a chain and a chain wheel that sits on the front wheel axle will carry over to the front wheel.
Two embodiments of the subject invention are shown in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 shows the first embodiment, in which the rear part of the bicycle is omitted because it is known, in elevation; Fig. 2 is the associated plan; Fig. 3 shows the second Ausführungsbei game in elevation; Fig. 4 is the associated plan; FIG. 5 shows a detail of the first exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2 in plan, and FIG. 6 shows a detail of the second exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 4 in plan.
1 is the front part of the bicycle frame in which the front fork 1 ′ is pivotably mounted with the front wheel 2. In the first embodiment according to FIGS. 1, 2 and 5, a forwardly directed tube 3 is attached to the top of the pivot pin of the front fork, on which an axis 5 by means of the clamping device 4 is attached parallel to the front wheel axis. Sleeves 6, to which arms 7 and levers 8 are fastened with handles 10, are fitted to the two free ends of this axis 5. On both sides of the front wheel 2 within the fork 1 'so-called freewheels 13 (either locking gears, ball or roller freewheels) are available.
A pull rod 12 or a cable leads from each of these freewheels to the arms 7, that is to say the rods 12 or cables are hinged to these levers at the top and to the freewheels at the bottom.
In the second exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 3, 4 and 6, a tube 3 also extends forward from the pivot pin of the front wheel fork, which then merges into two lateral arms 3 'which serve to support an axle 15. A sprocket 16, the hub of which is toothed on both sides, is rotatably mounted on this axis. On both sides of this toothed wheel are also toothed coupling sleeves 18, which are provided with the drivers 18 'on the outside. Outside these sleeves, sleeves provided with the slots 19 sit loosely on the axis 15 to which the pivot levers 8 are fastened with the handles 10.
The drivers 18 ′ of the coupling sleeves 18 and springs 20, which press the coupling sleeves 18 slightly against the chain wheel 16, lie in the slots 19. The chain wheel 16 is connected to the front wheel 2 by means of the chain 20 and the chain wheel 21.
The functioning of the bicycle drive according to the first exemplary embodiment is as follows: The rider can work with his legs as is known or let them rest, since all bicycles are now equipped with single-wheel freewheels, so to speak. At the same time, however, he can also drive the bike using his arms. For this purpose he makes an upward and downward movement with the same on the handlebar levers 8.
Every time one of the levers 8 is pulled upwards, this movement is transmitted by means of the pulling elements 12 to the freewheels 13 and these transmit the movement in the direction of rotation of the front wheel to the same. Both levers 8 can be pulled up with each other or alternately. be lowered. Only that movement is transmitted to the front wheel which corresponds to the direction of rotation of the same.
In the embodiment of FIGS. 3, 4 and 6, the handlebar levers 8 are moved the same as in the first embodiment, for example. The upward movement is transmitted to the chain wheel 16 by means of the ratchet wheel freewheels 17, 18 and from here by means of the chain 20 to the chain wheel 21 or to the front wheel 2.
The inside of the chain wheel 21 could also be designed as a freewheel, so that the chain 20 would not have to follow the constant rotation of the front wheel.
On top of the handlebar, instead of the ratchet wheel freewheels 17, 18, there could also be ball or roller freewheels, which have the advantage over the toothed freewheels that they do not make any noise.
The drive could also easily be designed so that the downward movement of the pivotable handlebar lever 8 would be transmitted to the front wheel.
Clamping the axle 5 according to FIG. 5 has the advantage that the handlebar levers 8 can be adjusted as desired. The stops 6 'of the parts 6, which are cut from 9' of the collars 9, be limiting the stroke of the handlebar lever B.
With a rear-wheel drive and such a front-wheel drive, greater performance can be achieved with the driving wheel than if only the rear-wheel drive were available; the driver can also take turns in the drive at will.
