Non-slip device adaptable either to skis or boots. The present invention relates to a non-slip device adaptable indifferently to skis or boots.
This device is. characterized in that it comprises a part in the form of a stirrup present. side jaws intended to be applied against the edges of the. sole of a boot, the bottom of the stirrup having a hollow with side walls parallel to the jaws and intended to be applied against the edges of a ski, in that the underside of said stirrup has spikes forming crampons, and in that means are provided for receiving a strap for binding to the ski or to the boot.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the device according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a plan view from below of the anti-skid device adapted to a ski. Fig. 2 is a key profile view.
Fig. 3 is a cross section taken on line 3-3 of FIG. 1.
Fig. 4 shows in perspective the non-slip device suitable for a shoe. The non-slip device shown com takes a part in the form of a stirrup generally designated 1 having side jaws 2 intended to come to rest against the edges of the sole 3 of a shoe 4- (fig. 4). The bottom of the stirrup 1 has a recess 5 with side walls 6 parallel to the jaws 2 and against which the edges of a ski 7 can be applied when the device is to be mounted on a ski instead of on it. a shoe.
The underside of caliper 1 is. provided with spikes 8 constituting crampons for ice for example. These points are pyramidal in shape and have an apex forming a sharp edge 9, the whole. is of a piece from a foundry.
To improve the grip conditions on ice for example, the cutting edges 9 are arranged in different directions. In the embodiment shown, these edges are angularly offset by 90 with respect to each other.
The inner face of the jaws 2 has ribs 10 intended to retain the edge of the sole 3 in engagement with the corresponding jaw 2. These ribs 10 extend between the jaw 2 and the bearing surface 11 on which the sole 3 rests.
Fixing the anti-slip device. described is made using a strap 12, passing under the bracket 1 through two openings 13 provided in the recess 5, each adjacent to the corresponding wall 6, then through openings 14 formed between the jaw 2 and the wall 6, that is to say in the bearing surface 11 from which the two ends of the strap 12 are clamped, either on the ski or on the boot (fig. 4) according to the use of the device. A clearance 15 connects the openings 13 so as to accommodate the strap 12, so that it does not exceed the bottom of the recess 5.
The anti-slip device described is designed to be fixed under the ski at the narrowest point of the latter, that is to say under the binding, as shown in FIG. 2, so that the strap 12 is retained by the fixing bracket 16. The width of the skis is not uniform, the device must be adjusted beforehand, for example by filing on each side the walls 6 of the recess 5 and blocking the device on the ski, on each side of which is screwed a section metal bar, the center of which is at the height of the end of the fixing bracket. The strap 12 should then only be used to prevent slipping backwards and the loss of the device.
This device has the advantage of being small and light, for example made of an aluminum alloy or the like. It can be quickly adapted to any safe shoe for a variety of purposes.
