En outre, le nombre de doigts de retenue 6, 7, leur profil et le profil de la cheville de commande 11 pourraient être différents de celui indiqué ici. Par exemple, le nombre de doigts pourrait être de 4, 6, 8 ou plus;
Metronome. In metronomes presently on the market, the pendulum actuation mechanism comprises an escapement device having parts having surfaces which are bevelled at a rigorous angle and perfectly balanced.
These parts are expensive and difficult to assemble. In addition, it is difficult to obtain, with such metronomes, a sufficiently strong marking of the times and. net as a result of the inertia of the rotating part in motion and of the small displacement thereof, the impact of this part against the oscillating part determining the sound intensity of the aforementioned marking. _ The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks.
Its object is a metronome comprising a motor intended for actuating a balance wheel via toothed transmission wheels and an exhaust device., All mounted on a chassis, characterized in that the balance is fixed on an oscillating axis for both a control pin and disposed in a plane perpendicular to an exhaust support shaft., in that said shaft; carries at least one retaining finger arranged parallel to it and .cooperating with the control che town, means being provided to give an impulse to the balance when said ankle will escape the retaining finger.
The accompanying drawing shows schematically and by way of example a form of execution of the metronome, object of the invention. Fig. 1 is a view of the metronome mechanism, this view being taken in profile with respect to the balance.
Fig. 2 is a bottom view of said mechanism.
Fig. 3 is a view partly in section of a device indicating the first beat of each measure.
Fig. 4 is a detail view of said positive device.
Fig. 5 -is a detailed view of the exhaust system.
Fig. 6 is a detail view of a variant of the exhaust device.
In the embodiment shown in the drawings, the actuating device of the ba lancer b comprises a motor M driving, by means of transmission toothed wheels 1, 2, 3 and 4, an exhaust support shaft 5 (see fig. 2). This shaft 5 carries an exhaust .dispositif formed by retaining fingers 6 and 7, diametrically opposed and whose axes are located on a circular cylindrical surface concentric with the shaft 5 (see FIG. 5). These retaining fingers 6 and 7 are carried by two discs 8 and 9 integral with the toothed wheel 4.
The balance b is fixed on an oscillating axis 10 located in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the shaft 5 and equidistant from the fingers 6 and 7. This axis 10 carries a control pin 11 located in a diametral plane .de axis 10.
The operation of the .ac- tioning .mechanism. Described is as follows When the balance wheel sorrel and the motor (in the particular case, a spring motor which can be wound up by means of a winder 12) actuates the shaft 5 by means of the toothed transmission wheels 1, 2, 3 and 4, it is subjected to a torque tending to make it turn. However, the retaining fingers 6 and 7 alternately dropping on the control pin 11, this shaft 5 performs a jerky movement.
In fact, when the pin 11 is on one side of the plane perpendicular to the shaft 5 passing through the axis 10, it: cooperates with one of the fingers 6 and 7, for example the finger 6 (see fig. . 5) and prohibits angular displacement of the shaft 5.
During the oscillating movement of the lance, the ankle 11 is located momentarily at the end of the finger 6; then the swing continuing its course, the peg 11 escapes the finger 6 and the shaft 5 is moved rapidly by an angle equal to the angular shift existing between the fingers 6 and 7 (in the particular case this shift is 180) .
At this moment, the finger 7 hits the pin 11, so that the shaft 5 is again immobilized. The ankle 11 entrainéedans the oscillating movement of the balance, slides along the. Finger 7, reverses its movement, then escapes this finger 7. The shaft 5 is moved angularly by the motor and. the finger 6 again hits the ankle 11 and so on.
In order to maintain this oscillating movement and ensure the continuous operation of the balance, it is necessary to regularly give an impulse to the axis 10 of a sufficient value to overcome friction. For this purpose, surfaces inclined relative to said perpendicular plane are provided on the fingers 6 and 7 and on the ankle 11.
In fact, the pin 11 'which is formed of a circular cylinder therefore has surfaces inclined relative to the plane perpendicular to the shaft 5 passing through the axis 10. As for the fingers 6 and 7, they are also formed of a circular cylinder and, in addition, their free end is bevelled and therefore also has a surface inclined relative to .audit perpendicular plane.
The inclined surfaces of the retaining fingers 6 and 7, cooperating with the peg 1.1, exert on the latter a thrust which creates a torque on the oscillating axis 10, so that the latter receives a short-term pulse each time the ankle 11. will escape from one of the fingers 6 and 7; thus the balance receives an impulse at each half-oscillation. The fingers 6 and 7 and the pin 11. being in the form of a body of revolution, the control pin 11 has only one point of instantaneous contact with them.
The metronome described here further comprises -His device for signaling the first beat of each measure. This device includes him. stamp composed of a bell 13 and a hammer 14 carried by one end of a lever 15, the other end of the latter having a beak 16. This hammer 1.4 is intended to be controlled by means provided on one of the transmission cogwheels 3.
In the. The embodiment shown, these means consist of openings 17 cut out in said toothed wheel 3. These openings 17 are distributed regularly and form circular rows II, III, IV; VI, concentric with said toothed wheel. The; rocker 15 carrying the hammer 1.4 is mounted on a support 22 by. through an axis 19; the support 22, itself carrying the bell 13, is pivotally mounted on the frame 18 of the metronome at 31.
The beak 16 is subjected to the action of a spring. 21 and when the toothed wheel 3 advances by jerks and that a verture 17 arrives opposite it, it engages under the action of the spring 21 in said opening, at the same time causing the displacement of the hammer 14 which strikes the bell 13.
The openings 17 cut in the toothed wheel 3 are dimensioned and arranged in such a way that as soon as the nose 16 of the rocker 15 has entered an opening, it comes out, which gives the hammer the desired movement to obtain the best sound of the bell 13.
In addition, these openings 17 are dimensioned and arranged in such a manner by raipport to the spout 16 that during the stopping periods. of the wheel 3, the spout 16 is still located outside the openings 17 and presses on the face of the wheel 3 which is opposite it (see fig. 1 and 3). Therefore, when the mechanism is stopped, the beak of the rocker which is located between two successive openings 17 can. be moved laterally to be placed opposite another row of openings without risk of snagging.
In the embodiment shown, the toothed wheel 3 makes one revolution every twenty-four times marked by the balance. Therefore, if the spout 16 is placed opposite row II composed of openings, the gong will be struck every two times. Opposite row III, made up of eight openings, the gong will be struck every three times; next to row IV, made up of six openings, the gong will be struck every four beats and opposite row VI: composed of four openings, the gong will be struck every six beats.
A positive device is provided to fix the various positions of the spout 16 opposite each of the rows of openings II, III, IV, VI of the toothed wheel 3. This device consists of a ball 23, held by a leaf spring 25 in a housing 26, which has the support 22 and a row -de holes 28, provided on a flange 30 of the frame. The various positions of the spout 16 are determined by the insertion of the ball 23 in one of the holes in row 28.
So that the ball 23 does not get caught in the holes of row 28, it is necessary that the bore of these is smaller than the diameter of the ball 23.
As a variant, this ball 23 could be replaced by a leaf spring engaging directly in a row of notches seen on the flange 30.
In the embodiment shown; certain openings 17 of several circular rows located on the same radius of the toothed wheel 3 have been combined into a single slot. It is understood that these openings could be kept separate from each other on the same radius.
In addition, the number of retaining fingers 6, 7, their profile and the profile of the control pin 11 could be different from that indicated here. For example, the number of fingers could be 4, 6, 8 or more;
however, it is advantageous to keep this number small, so that the inertia of the escape wheel is low and thus the noise produced by the collision of the. control pin 11 against one of the retaining fingers 6 or 7 is large. As for the profile of the control che city 11 and the bare rete fingers 6, 7, it could be other than circled cylindrical and have, for example, a triangular or polygonal shape which shell, the friction of the. control pin 11 on the retaining fingers 6 and 7 always being made by the contact of an edge of each .des two parts in contact.
In another variant embodiment (see FIG. 6), the exhaust device could only comprise a single disc 9, for example, carrying a single retaining finger 7 arranged parallel to the shaft 5. The pin 11, instead of protruding on only one side of the oscillating axis 10 would protrude on either side of the latter and the two axes 10 and 5 would be kept in the same plane.
To prevent the finger 7 from coming into abutment against the oscillating axis 10, the latter could have a notch or be bent at the point where its geometric axis passes in the vicinity of the circle described by the free end of the finger 7.
As a further variant, the openings 17 provided in the toothed wheel 3 to cooperate with the nose 16 could be replaced by bosses provided on said toothed wheel 3 instead of the openings 17. In this case, the adjustment of the hammer 14 will have to be replaced. be such that, in the rest position, the latter is very close to the bell 13, thus the passage of the nozzle 16 over a boss separates the hammer 14 from the bell 13. The sudden return of the nozzle 16, subjected to action of the spring 21, from this boss on the face of the wheel 3, launches the hammer 14 against the bell to strike the latter.
