Bagging and weighing machine for powdery materials.
The present invention relates to a bagging and weighing machine for powdery materials, comprising a rotary filling tank from which the material is led to a number of filling pipes communicating with outlet openings made in. the bottom of the tank.
It is known in machines of this type to use an agitator device rotating at a speed much higher than that of the filling tank, while adding at the same time air to the tank, in order to obtain a current. regular material to the bags which are suspended from the filling pipes.
However, this agitating device makes the machine more complicated by the fact that it requires a special motor with gears to make it rotate relative to the also rotating tank. Without re-use of the rotary agitator device, a sufficiently even evacuation of the material is not obtained, although air is added to the tank in a finely divided state through a porous material. In fact, it is necessary, if the machine is started up with the reservoir filled with material, to use a slightly larger quantity of air than if the machine is in continuous operation.
This greater quantity of air causes irregular evacuation of the material for a certain period of time after switching on, and filling the bags during this period requires more time, so that some of the bags have to go through the machine twice. to be filled. In addition, it is necessary for the emptying of the tank, after the bagging is completed, that all the outlet openings be opened, which is unsuitable, since the material thus flows into several bags which only fill up by. very much.
The object of the present invention is to reduce to a minimum or entirely eliminate the addition of air, at the same time as the rotary agitator device.
In the bagging and weighing machine according to the invention, a stationary dispenser enters the interior of the rotating tank to a point immediately above the outlet openings of the tank. This scraping or dispensing member may be provided with arms or similar projections which coincide entirely or partially with the radial planes of the reservoir, and which preferably only cover a narrow annular surface of the bottom of the reservoir around the outlet openings.
The drawing shows, by way of example, embodiments of the bagging and weighing machine according to the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a vertical section of a first machine.
Fig. 2 shows, on a large scale, an area around an outlet opening shown in FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 shows a section along line III-III of FIG. 2.
Fig. 4 represents, on a large scale, an area similar to that shown in FIG. 2, but in modified execution form.
Fig. 5 shows a section taken along the line V-V of FIG. 4.
Fig. 6 shows a vertical section of the machine of an embodiment without air addition members.
Fig. 7 shows a vertical section of a similar machine, but in the form of a modified execution.
In the drawing, 1 represents a cylindrical filling tank provided with a central shaft 2 which passes through the bottom 32 of the tank to which it is fixed by means of a loose flange 4 tightened against the bottom 32 of the tank by nuts 31 on the threaded end of Marble 2. The upper end of the shaft 2 is carried by an axial bearing (not shown), and the reservoir 1 is therefore suspended in this bearing. The tank 1 is provided at the top with a stationary cover consisting of a cylindrical part 15 and a flat part 13. This cover is suspended from beams or the like 12. In the flat part of the cover there is a supply pipe 3, by which the material is introduced into the reservoir.
In the bottom 32 of the tank 1 there are a number of outlet openings 5 (see fig. 2), and each of these openings is provided with a rubber outlet pipe 6 which leads the material to one of the pipes. filling 7, the lower part 8 of which is shaped with a view to carrying the packaging container, for example a valve bag.
All the filling pipes are suspended in the manner known moreover from the tie rods 9 of the weighing mechanism which rotate with the tank, and FIG. 1 further indicates the mechanism which, by a roller 11, is actuated at the moment when the bag is to disengage from the supporting part 8, the bag holder 10 then being lifted therefrom. 16 shows one of the closure members which, by compressing the hooded outlet pipe 6 against a stopper, cuts off the passage of material through the outlet opening 5.
In the tank 1 is firmly fixed a conical wall 14, and the space below this wall is denoted by 17. This space 17 serves as an air tank to which is led compressed air passing from a stationary pipe 19. by a stuffing box and by a bore in the lower end of the shaft 2 to holes 18 therein. From the space 17, the compressed air passes through the pipes 20 to the air addition members arranged at the bottom of the tank 1 outside the conical wall 14.
As shown in fig. 2 and 3, these air addition members can consist of concentric pipes 25 arranged on both sides of the outlet openings 5. The pipes can be of porous material or covered with porous material, so that the air entering them. pores is finely divided. From figs. 4 and 5, it emerges that the air addition members can consist of shaped plates of sectors 21 of a porous material.
These plates are arranged in a frame forming the upper part of the air addition chambers 22 with supply pipes 23. The porous plates 21 can consist of filter stone, but they can also be formed by a layer of felt interposed between perforated metal sheets. As can be seen from FIG. 5, the plates 21 can be of such an extent that no air is added in a small area immediately around the outlet openings 5, but the plates can also be of a shape such that they actually surround the outlet openings 5.
The stationary scraper or distribution member consists of bars 26, the upper part of which is slightly inclined towards the shaft 2, and the lower part of which is substantially parallel to the eonique wall 14, and the upper ends of these bars are fixed to the flat part 13 of the stationary tank cover. The bars 26 are assembled by rings 27, 28 and 29. At the lower ring 29 (fig. 2 to 5) are mounted U-shaped elements, the wings 30 of which form protrusions which entirely or partially coincide with radial planes. tank 1.
During the operation of the machine described, the reservoir 1 rotates and the stationary dispenser produces a quite regular flow of the material to the outlet openings 5 by the effect of the projections 30 which stir the material uniformly. - ment above and around these outlet openings. For certain materials, for example for certain cements, it has been possible to obtain these regular evacuation conditions even without any addition of air to the material in the tank 1.
In the event of complete emptying of the tank 1, the material can flow through a single outlet opening 5, since the distribution member 26 always ensures that the material above the closed outlet openings is distributed evenly and quickly. over these outlet openings, so as to flow through the open one.
In the embodiment shown in fig. 4 and 5, the porous plates 21 are embedded in the bottom of the tank 1, so that the projections 30 are located at the same vertical distance above these plates and above the outlet openings 5.
In the embodiment shown in fig. 6, a plate 33 is disposed on the arms 30, so that it is only the part of the arms 30 projecting from the plate 33 which acts on the material. In this form of operation, there is no addition of air to the reservoir, and neither when the latter is started, so that the addition members of air shown in fig. 1-5 are completely deleted.
I) in the embodiment shown in fig. 7, the conical wall 14 has been omitted, and the bars 26 of the scraping and dispensing member are provided at the bottom with a plate 34 which substantially covers the part of the bottom which is located inside the outlet openings 5 and at the periphery of which there are arms, teeth or the like 35.
In this embodiment, the. The material in the tank 1 rests on the plate 34, and it is only in the area above the openings 5 that the arms 35 act on the material during the rotation of the tank 1. The relief of the pressure exerted by the ma - Tière against the bottom of the tank obtained by the plate 34 allows to launch the tank filled with material without any addition of air. Similarly, as shown in fig. 6, there are no air addition members in this embodiment of the machine. The plate 34 can take other forms than that shown; for example, it can be conical, as indicated by dotted lines by 36.
As shown, the bars 26 are arranged in their upper part as close as possible to the axis of rotation of the tank, to present the minimum resistance when the tank is started, filled with material.
Of course, the invention is not restricted to weighing devices, filling pipes, air addition members, etc., shown in the drawing. It is also within the scope of the invention to give the dispensing member other forms of execution than those shown.
In addition, the apparatus shown in fig. 1 can be executed without air addition members and, on the other hand, the apparatus shown in FIGS. 6 and 7 can be provided with the air addition members shown in FIGS. 2-5.
