Fig. 1 ein Längsschnitt durch den Wagen und
So könnten z.
Transport trolleys, in particular for food.
With the usual transport trolleys for food, as used in hospitals, restaurants and hotels, it is often perceived as a disadvantage that they can only be moved in their longitudinal direction, but not also across it. As a result, they can very often not be brought into the existing elevators, especially where the width of the elevator car is greater than its depth.
The object of the present invention is now a food transport trolley, which wants to remedy this problem. The bearing brackets of the four existing wheels can be rotated around a vertical axis for the purpose of greater maneuverability of the trolley. According to the invention, two of the wheel brackets can each be displaced lengthways with one on the vertical axis , toothed and spring-loaded organ that cooperates with a corresponding counter-toothing on the wheel bracket and, when engaged with this, fixes the wheel bracket.
The toothing on the member that is longitudinally displaceable on the axis of rotation and the counter-toothing on the wheel bracket are arranged in such a way that when they engage the wheel brackets are fixed both in the longitudinal and in the transverse direction of the car.
An embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing.
In it are:
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section through the carriage and
2 shows a cross-section on a larger scale through one of the lockable wheels.
The car body 1 rests on a profile iron frame 2 forming the chassis.
This is at the back and front in the middle and at the side at the edge with one wheel 3 each, so on the whole with four wheels. The bearing brackets of these wheels can be rotated about a vertical axis 5. In the case of the wheel brackets 4, at the front and rear at the end of the car, the running axis of the wheels lies outside a plane perpendicular to the plane of the wheel, which is laid by the vertical axis of rotation, while in the case of the wheel brackets 6, in the middle at the edge of the car, the running axis of the wheels is on this second level. The wheel brackets 6 can be locked both in the longitudinal and in the transverse direction of the car and are designed as follows for this purpose:
The wheel brackets 6 are provided in their yoke with a bearing bush 7 which can rotate on the axis of rotation 5a designed as a pin.
Each of the wheel brackets 6 is secured by a pin 8 against falling off if the car is lifted off the ground.
On each wheel bracket 6 there are also two tooth-shaped cams 9 eye-braeht on carriers 6a, onto which a round plate 10, which is arranged coaxially to the axis of rotation and can be displaced longitudinally on the sleeve 7, is pressed down by a compression spring 11 also arranged coaxially to the axis of rotation 5a. The plate 10 has on its lower side four notches offset by 900 relative to one another, in which the cams 9 engage when the wheel bracket 6 is brought into the corresponding position by means of one of the two handles 13 attached to it. So that the plate 10 cannot rotate with the bracket 6, it is guided by two pins 14 attached to the chassis.
The arrangement of the notches in the plate 10 is such that when the cams 9 engage, the wheel plane or the wheel bracket is in the direction of the longitudinal or the transverse axis of the carriage. The relatively short depth of engagement and the pressure of the spring 11 are sufficient to hold the wheel bracket in one of the two engagement positions while driving.
In order to bring the cams 9 out of engagement with the notches of the plate 10 for the purpose of changing the direction of the wheel bracket 6, all that is required is a strong, jerky movement of the handle 13, whereupon the cams 9 move the plate 10 against the viilning of the spring 11 of the appropriately designed notch flanks and, as you turn the wheel bracket further, can be guided to engage the next notch. The design shown enables the wheel brackets to be rotated with very little effort, which remains practically the same when the car is empty or fully loaded.
It would also be possible to use several zn instead of just one centrally arranged spring, e.g. B. such that two compression springs would be arranged coaxially with the guide pin 14.
It is clear that the teeth that come into engagement with one another and cause the locking of the wheel brackets can also be configured differently than shown in the drawing. So could z. B. more or less than two cam-shaped teeth and corresponding notches, or the teeth and corresponding engagement cutouts in the counterpart can have shapes other than those shown, without going outside the scope of the invention. In order to achieve free movement of the wheel brackets 6 on all sides in addition to the lockability, a device could be provided by means of which the plate 10 can be brought out of engagement with the cam 9 and held in this position.
