Fig. 2 en est une vue en plan.
A cet effet (fig.
Heating container for the rapid preparation of hot drinks. The invention is. relating to heating vessels having their own source of heat and making it possible to obtain hot drinks.
Its main purpose is to make the use of this type of device more practical and above all to facilitate the consumption of the hot drink prepared in all places and in all circumstances.
The invention consists of a heated container for the rapid preparation of hot drinks, comprising a heat source which can be activated at the time of use of the container. and a reservoir for the liquid to be heated, characterized in that it comprises a bag intended to contain a product of which it is desired to prepare a decoction and capable of opening under the influence of the temperature of the liquid to be heated, and a telescopic tube arranged so as to be, in the non-use position, kept locked in the receptacle, the whole arranged so that when heating has been caused and this heating has brought the temperature of said liquid to a determined value,
the sachet opens and the product contained therein dissolves in the hot liquid to form the desired hot beverage, and furthermore said telescopic tube emerges by itself through the lid of said container and expands to it. 'outside to form a pipette puncturing., under the action of a thrust spring, a low-melting point alloy fuse which hitherto held it inside the container.
According to a preferred embodiment, this container can. be heated by exothermic reaction of chemicals, the products causing this exothermic reaction being placed in the center of said container in a sealed package in the form of a cylindrical key radiating heat in all directions in the liquid mass which surrounds it.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, some embodiments of the object of the invention FIG. 1 shows, in axial section, a first embodiment.
Fig. 2 is a plan view.
Fig. 3 is a view similar to that of FIG. 1, in another operating position.
Fig. 4 shows, in section, a detail of FIG. 1.
Fine. 5 and G respectively represent views similar to FIGS. 1 and 3 of a second embodiment of the container.
Fig. 7 and 8 represent. respectively two similar views of a third embodiment of the container. Fi-. 9 is a plan view.
Fig. 10 is a view similar to that of FIG. 7, of a fourth embodiment. The apparatus comprises a sealed container on the body 1 of which is crimped, at 2, a bottom 3, and having a cover 4.
In the bottom of this container is formed, in the direction of the interior (left side of the figures of the drawing) a boss or bulge 5 serving as a support and retention for a tube 6 notched at its base at 7 and bearing at its part upper -a retaining collar 8 serving as a guide and stopper for another tube 9 of smaller diameter, placed inside said previous and subjected to the action of a thrust spring 10, and which has its base a circular shoulder 11 with joint 12.
The upper part of this tube 9 is fitted with a removable cap 13 and it is held in the withdrawn position in the receptacle by pressing, under the action of its thrust spring 10, against a fuse element 14 made of a melting alloy. low temperature, for example -a Wood or Darcet alloy, carried by the cover 4.
The container 1 is filled with a hot drink 21 such as coffee, tea, milk, broth or the like, which, as will be indicated below, is prepared by dissolving an extract or concentrate 27 in water. In this case, the liquid 21 contained in the box is water. At the time of use, this liquid is heated by any means, either external or internal, as indicated below.
When this liquid 21 reaches a temperature of the order of 90 to 95, the fuse 14 melts and thus releases the tube 9 which, pushed by the spring 10, passes through the cover and extends to the outside (fig. 3, 6, 8 and 10) out of the box until its flange 11 with gasket 12 comes to rest against the stop 8 of the fixed dip tube 6.
In the aforementioned figures, 3, 6, 8 and 10, the reference 15 indicates the drops of the melted fuse.
The liquid 21 contained in the container 1 can enter the tube 6 through the notches 7 made at its base and to consume it, it is then sufficient to remove the cap 13 which is intended to prevent drops of molten alloy from the fuse 14 enter tube 9 and do not obstruct it, then bring this pipette to the mouth to drink, by suction, as with a straw, which is much more practical than having to pour the contents of the container into a glass or in a cup, due to the fact that this heating container is mainly intended for travel (automobile, railroad, plane, boat)
or in any other circumstance where it is difficult to pour liquid into a cup or glass and drink it without spilling it.
The different figures of the drawing show different arrangements of such a container. heated.
According to the embodiment of FIGS. 1 and 2, designed to be discarded after use, the container 1 is filled with water 21 and its cover 4 has in its center an orifice in which a tube 16 fits, closed at both ends and the part of which upper 17 is slightly flared so that its engagement at. force in the opening of the lid ensures the necessary tightness of the container and thus prevents water 21 from spilling out.
Inside this tube 16 and in its center, is placed another tube 18 of smaller diameter which is. perforated with many small holes 19 and which is filled with glass threads 20.
This tube 16 is filled with a mixture of solid products 22 capable of entering an exothermic reaction under the action of an oxidizing liquid. This mixture of products is covered with a layer of glass threads 20.
The upper closure of the tube 16 has in its center an orifice 23 forming a funnel above the central tube 18.
In addition, the tube 16 comprises at its base several leaf springs 24 forming claws and intended to hold between them a small container or bag 25 comprising, for this purpose, a circular groove 26 allowing its easy installation and removal.
This container 25 contains a food product 27 of which it is desired to obtain a decocation or solution and it is closed at its base in a leaktight manner by a cover 28 welded by means of a fusible alloy 29 melting at a temperature of the order of 60 to 65.
Finally, against the outer wall of the body 1 of the container is placed a removable reservoir 32 held by Lin or several collars 33 and which, closed by a screw cap 34, contains a product. oxidizing liquid 35. Close to its bottom, this reservoir 32 comprises a zone 36 which can easily be punctured by means of a needle.
To prepare a decoction or hot solution of the product 27, it suffices, after having separated the reservoir 32 from the receptacle 1, unscrew the cap 34 and empty the contents (position in dotted lines fig. 1) in the 'orifice 23. To allow the oxidizing liquid to flow freely, it suffices to perforate this reservoir at 36. by means of any needle 37.
The oxidizing liquid 35 then enters the central tube 18 and, through the orifices 19, impregnates the mass 22 with the solid products to be oxidized. The exothermic reaction then begins immediately and. the mass quickly reaches a high temperature, of the order of 130 to 140, which causes rapid heating of the water 21. in which it is placed.
When this water reaches a temperature of the order of 65 to 75, the fuse 29 melts and releases the cover 28 (fig. 3). The product. contained in the bag. 25 then comes into contact with the hot water and dissolves or mixes therein, giving the desired hot drink.
As the temperature of this drink continues to rise, the heat arrives by conduction from the tube 16 to the cover 4 and to the fuse 14 which in turn melts and the pipette can then leave the container by developing it outside as indicated in. fi-. 3. The hot drink prepared by mixing the water 21 and the product 27 can pass through the interstices 7 in the tube and. the pipette 9 and be sucked at the end thereof.
The apparatus described above is more specifically designed as disposable packaging, that is to say intended to be discarded after use.
It can also advantageously be designed in a form which allows re-use by reloading, by designing it in one or the other of the embodiments of fi-. 5, 7 and 10 and of fig. 4 as regards the fuse 14 of the pipette.
In this case, it is in fact necessary not only to provide for the possible recharging of the container with water and the replacement of the tube 16 and of the bag 25, but also the replacement. fuse 14.
For this purpose (fig. 4), this fuse can advantageously be mounted by crimping in the central orifice of a small plug 38 intended to be screwed into a sleeve 39 attached to the fixed cover 4 of the container.
It then suffices, after melting of this fuse, to unscrew the cap 38 and replace it, causing the re-entry of the pipette 9 which will be maintained in its withdrawn position by a spare cap comprising a new fuse.
This removable fuse has. been shown in isolation in the drawing at fi-. 4, but of course it must replace the fuse 14 shown schematically in FIGS. 5 to 10.
According to the embodiment of FIG. 5 showing a refillable container, the reservoir 32 of oxidizing liquid 35 is mounted directly above the cartridge 16 containing the. material to be oxidized.
This cartridge 16 is integral with a shovel neck 42 which surmounts it and which serves as a housing for the aforementioned reservoir 32 carrying the central closure plug 34. The bottom of this cup has a central orifice 23 for a funnel and opening into the inner tube 18 of the cartridge 16 and the circular edge of this cup 42 is slightly conical to forcibly engage in an opening 43 provided in the cover 4-.
As for the bag or container 25 containing the product 27, it is hooked, as in the previous embodiment, by claws 24 under the cartridge 16. Its closure can be similar to that of the embodiment of FIG. 1, but it can also be produced by retaining in place against a seal 44 its cover 28 by a rod 45 fixed to the opposite face of said bag which is in direct contact with the bottom of the cartridge, by a welding point 29 in alloy fusible at low temperature with the interposition of a compressed spring 46, the ends of which are fixed to the respective bottoms of the bag.
The operation is easy to understand and the use of this heating vessel is as follows: Once loaded, to cause it to react, that is to say to trigger the heating, it suffices to unscrew the cap 34 and , by introducing a needle 37 through its orifice 47, to pierce the bottom of the container 32, which causes the oxidizing liquid 35 to flow into the tube 18. The operation is, from this moment, identical to that of the container. weight shown in fig. 1, except that the opening of the bag 25 occurs by forced projection of the cover 28 under the action of the relaxation of the spring 46 when the fuse 29 melts (FIG. 6).
Once the drink has been consumed, it suffices to refill the container and allow it to be used again, to introduce any member, such as a coin, between the edge of the cover 4 and the edge of the cup 42, to release said cup and allow it to be taken out of the container at the same time as the reservoir 32, the cartridge 16 and the bag 25 with its cover 28 suspended from the spring 46, all these members being linked to each other.
We can then fill the container again with water through the opening 43 of its cover and put in place a new cartridge 16 with reservoir 32, after having engaged between its claws 24 a bag 25 comprising the product which is to be obtained. a decoction or solution.
After having also replaced the fuse 14 of the pipette, the apparatus is thus ready for a new operation which may moreover not take place until a very long time later.
Figs. 7 to 9 show another embodiment in which the piercing of the tank 32 requires even less operations and can be carried out very easily, for example by a driver of a motor car, by a cyclist or other without having to worry about it. 'he loses control of his machine and simply by a partial rotation to print to a joystick requiring the intervention of only one hand.
In fact, the cup 42 in which the reservoir 32 is placed is surmounted by a transverse bar 50 under which is fixed by a screw 51 another fast-pitch male screw 52 itself receiving a female screw 53 forming a body with a plate 54 carrying a lever 55.
The lower face of said plate carries a sharp point 56, and between this plate and the upper face of the reservoir 32 is interposed a spring 57. On its other face, this reservoir is kept lifted by springs 58 bearing on a rim that comprises the. cup 42.
Finally, between the underside of this tank see 32 and the upper part of the cartridge placed in the cylindrical extension 49 of the cup 42 is or are interposed one or more points 59 arranged above the tube or tubes 18 of the cartridge (three in the example considered).
The springs 57 and 58 keep the tank 32 in suspension at an equal distance from the points 56 and 59.
To cause the oxidizing liquid 35 to flow, it is then sufficient to cause the lever 55 to operate about a half turn of rotation (Fig. 8) which causes, through the play of the fast-pitch screws 52, 53, the descent of the plate 54 which, by crushing the springs 57 and 58, causes firstly the perforation of the upper face of the container 32 by the point 56, then the latter of its lower face by the points 59. The liquid oxidizing agent 35 then flows in the tubes 18 of the cartridge in passing through orifices 60 provided in the wall serving as a fixed support for said points 59.
Note that these points 59 have a lance-shaped profile so that after having perforated the bottom of the tank 32 they do not obstruct these perforations. In fig. 7 and 8 est. also represented another embodiment of the sachet opening device by closing its bottom 61 by a fusible pellet 29 which, when melted (fig. 8) delivers the product 27 to the action of hot water 21 .
In these figs. 7 to 9, insulating washers 62 are placed on the body 1 of the receptacle to enable it to be grasped with the hand without risk of burns when it is in operation.
The recharging of the device, after use, is carried out substantially as for the embodiment shown in the preceding figures 5 and 6. It suffices. to lift the removable bar 50, remove the reservoir 32 and the cartridge 16 and replace them with a new reservoir and a new cartridge, then replace the bar 50. The bag 25 is also taken out and it is replaced by a new one. other of his choice. The container is filled with water and the fuse 14 of the pipette is spread out.
The apparatus shown in fig. 10 is of identical design and. it differs from it only in the following points: When, for example, it concerns a device to be used in excursion in high mountain or in other very cold regions, it may be advisable not to charge the device in water or snow only when it is used, due to the unnecessary dead weight that this water and. risk of freezing.
In this case, due to the atmospheric conditions and the low temperature, it is necessary to have a lot of calories, without increasing either the weight or the dimensions of the heating element.
This result is. obtained by recovering. the vapor which normally escapes from the heating pad and circulating it in the body of water to be heated while maintaining a certain pressure.
According to the embodiment of FIG. 10, the removable bar 50 is fixed in brackets 69 supporting the starting members described above. The cup -12 is then closed by a hinged cover 63 with hinge 61 and closing hook 65. A seal 66 allows, by the. closing this cover, to make said cup perfectly sealed, so that the value which, during the reaction, emerges from the cartridge cannot dissipate into the atmosphere. It 'L-st, on the contrary, obliged to enter a coil 67 which surrounds said cartridge and to travel it over its entire front length.
to finally be able to escape through an opening 68 of small diameter.
The recovery of the vapor could obviously also be provided in the same way on one or the other of the embodiments of FIGS. 1 to 9.
Likewise, the opening of the bag. 25 containing the product 27 may be any of the types described, whatever the embodiment of the container. It could also be designed in a different way, such as in the form of a sachet consisting of two sheets of a thin flexible material and wound around the heating cartridge, subject to always resorting to a fusible material to cause its automatic opening when the water in which it is immersed has reached a sufficient temperature.
The reservoir 32 could also be arranged so that its piercing does not require its. final disposal, but by making holes in the pellets liable to be recharged or changed.
As for the inner tubes 18 that the cartridges carry, they can indifferently as in the case of FIGS. 1 to 6, single title and arranged in the center, or be multiple, as in the case of fig. 7 to 10 and be uniformly distributed in the mass to be oxidized.
The heating container according to the invention thus makes it possible when traveling, as on excursions, that is to say in all places and in all circumstances, to prepare in a few minutes and to consume, without having recourse to any external means, a . hot drink which, depending on the nature of the product contained in the sachet, placed in the device may, for example, be coffee, tea, milk, chocolate, sweet and flavored or not, grog, an infusion whatever conch (linden, mint, chamomile, verbena, etc.) meat juice, consomme.
