Definitions
- extemporaneous drugs can be prepared by this route, for example mixing the active component and its vector or liquid support medium.
- the shutter will be perforated, for example, using the syringe needle to inject the liquid, mix and allow any reactions to take place, then re-aspirate the product.
- Patent publication FR-A-2 658 487 proposes receptacles with two opposite compartments which are separated by a tearable membrane and showing two external necks of opposite axial openings opposite, one constituting a mouthpiece carrying a pump, the other receiving a push plug carrying a membrane cutting member.
- the subject of the invention is a device which is both simpler and safer.
- This device is essentially built around a vial or socket forming a single barrel with two opposite necks, the mouth of one still carrying a pump, but that of the other receiving a capsule with an internal cutting member such as cited above.
- Pump and capsule sealed on the barrel, the assembly is in the form of a compact cartridge of generally cylindrical appearance containing the two components of the product, capable of being kept upright both in its initial state and after shearing, mixing and successive uses. Its filling phases are independent and simple, its use requires no complicated handling and it easily constitutes a complete aseptic packaging.
- a tubular segment 1 made of glass, having at its ends two identical rings, respectively 1a and 1b , forms the barrel intended to contain a liquid component and which receives at its upper part a pump 2 of a suitable known model with its pick-up tube 2a , and at its lower part a powder capsule 3 , of also known model, closed by a cover 4 which a punch 5 makes it possible to break by means of its blade 5a , without lose the external seal.
- the operating button of the lower punch 5 permanently receives a cover 7 capable of serving as a base and carrier if necessary a safety ring 7a , which could be made inviolable.
- the pump carries a conventional head 8 equipped for example with a spray nozzle 9 which itself serves as a cover in the manner of the base 7 , if necessary wearing like it a safety ring 8 a .
- the conditioner preferably receives the barrel equipped with the pump and sets up solvent then powder capsule and pellet, the head 8 having advantageously been mounted in advance. The whole operation is done upside down and can be performed under the requisite aseptic conditions.
- the user just needs to press the rear button of the punch 5 to pierce the seal 4 and release the powder within the solvent by inverting and agitating the device if necessary.
- the cartridge is then used like a normal bottle fitted with a pump.
- This device makes it possible, for example, to prepare a solution of a powder component at the time of use and to withdraw this solution by means of a pump, while minimizing the number of manipulations.
- the device is entirely made of synthetic materials, with the possible exception of the spring of the pump 12 .
- the latter is assembled and closed by fitting a flange 16a onto the pump body then mounted likewise on the barrel 11 .
- the dispensing head for example provided with a nasal tip, is here delivered separately; in other cases it could obviously be placed under the cover 18 .
- the lower opening of the barrel receives the capsule 13 , which has an internal cylindrical well 13a closed by a cover 14 and which the punch 15 closes.
- the capsule 13 retained by a fitted collar 16b , forms the bottom of the reservoir and its profile laterally spreads the end of the intake tube 12a .
- the collar 16b carries a tamper-evident cover 17 , the belt of which is retained by breakable bridges 17a along its heel 17b ; here, as we can see, the cover is independent of the punch 15 .
- This punch which slides in sealed manner in the well 13a , has a blade 15a of an upper edge oblique to the tear line of the cover and which provides a cavity of volume adapted to that of the powder. Its depression (dashed lines) cuts the cover and releases the powder, the bottom of the cavity reaching substantially at that of the reservoir initially formed in the barrel by the capsule; the existence of at least one groove 15b then creates a lower passage which eliminates the dead volumes at the end of use of the product.
- the punch here carries a rear button which, after detaching the cover 17 , would protrude from the heel of the cartridge to facilitate its initial maneuver, then disappearing so as not to compromise stability in the standing position between two successive uses.
- the bridges 17a being placed towards the inside of the well 13a , it is possible to break them by driving in, then directly driving the punch 15 , which thus comes clearly back on the heel 17b , because the cover 17 does not fall only later.
- the tear-off rim of the cover is sufficient in practice to retain the punch after the first use, but it is possible to provide auxiliary stop means in extreme positions 13b such as simple complementary reliefs in profile, however, which can be removed from the mold during manufacture and then interlocked with the mounting.
- punch 15 and cover 17 are carriers of indented grooves 19 and the stop means 13b comprise a helical ramp; a rotational force on the cover 17 thus causes the punch 15 to rise.
- the ramp would also be capable of making a bayonet to lock the punch in abutment in its high position on a shoulder such as 13c , thus obtaining a more perfect and safer seal.

Description
It is known to produce, by mixing two components, products of limited preservation which can range from a few minutes to a few weeks; in particular, extemporaneous drugs can be prepared by this route, for example mixing the active component and its vector or liquid support medium.
Thus it is usual to store separately a powder in an ampoule or a bottle closed by an elastic obturator and its solvent in another ampoule or a disposable syringe. For use, the shutter will be perforated, for example, using the syringe needle to inject the liquid, mix and allow any reactions to take place, then re-aspirate the product.
It has also been proposed to fix in the mouth of a bottle containing a liquid a capsule equipped with a member capable of shearing the bottom under the effect of a pusher to release its content: the capsule must then be removed to take the product, for example by adapting in its place a miniature pump intended to dispense it in small successive doses.
We have also designed bottles with two superimposed necks, the first intermediate that closes an elastic pad, the second external that closes a shutter equipped with a deformable pusher: for use, manual pressure on the pusher drives the pad, directly or under the effect of the overpressure generated, and allows mixing; a conical tip can be provided on the obturator which it suffices to uncap to place a sampling syringe.
Patent publication FR-A-2 658 487 proposes receptacles with two opposite compartments which are separated by a tearable membrane and showing two external necks of opposite axial openings opposite, one constituting a mouthpiece carrying a pump, the other receiving a push plug carrying a membrane cutting member.
The subject of the invention is a device which is both simpler and safer.
This device is essentially built around a vial or socket forming a single barrel with two opposite necks, the mouth of one still carrying a pump, but that of the other receiving a capsule with an internal cutting member such as cited above. Pump and capsule sealed on the barrel, the assembly is in the form of a compact cartridge of generally cylindrical appearance containing the two components of the product, capable of being kept upright both in its initial state and after shearing, mixing and successive uses. Its filling phases are independent and simple, its use requires no complicated handling and it easily constitutes a complete aseptic packaging.
Ceux-ci montrent :
- figure 1 : une coupe longitudinale d'une première version,
- FIG. 1 : a longitudinal section of a first version,
- FIG. 2 : a more detailed longitudinal section of a second version,
- f igure 3 : a similar section of a variant thereof.
In the example shown in FIG. 1 , a
Pump and capsule are fixed using flanges 6 , crimped on the rings.
The operating button of the
The conditioner preferably receives the barrel equipped with the pump and sets up solvent then powder capsule and pellet, the head 8 having advantageously been mounted in advance. The whole operation is done upside down and can be performed under the requisite aseptic conditions.
The user just needs to press the rear button of the
This device makes it possible, for example, to prepare a solution of a powder component at the time of use and to withdraw this solution by means of a pump, while minimizing the number of manipulations.
In the case of FIG. 2 , the registration of which is homologous, the device is entirely made of synthetic materials, with the possible exception of the spring of the
The lower opening of the barrel receives the
This punch, which slides in sealed manner in the
The punch here carries a rear button which, after detaching the
The tear-off rim of the cover is sufficient in practice to retain the punch after the first use, but it is possible to provide auxiliary stop means in
In the variant shown in Figure 3 ,
It would also be possible to use a cutting member working in simple rotation, for example with an eccentric blade.
