Lichtsignaleinrichtung an Motorfahrzeugen.
Light signal device on motor vehicles. In everyday motor vehicle traffic, there are constant misunderstandings between motor vehicle drivers and pedestrians, mainly at pedestrian crossings and intersections where traffic is not controlled by a traffic police officer. Approaching z. If, for example, a motor vehicle is in an unguarded pedestrian crossing where there are passers-by on both sides of the sidewalks, they do not know whether they are allowed to cross the driveway. It often happens that the driver does not stop his vehicle, despite the fact that a passer-by wants to cross the street.
The situation is often the other way round, with a vehicle driver stopping his vehicle in front of a pedestrian crossing, but the passer-by still does not cross the road, mostly out of uncertainty. In such situations, the driver of the vehicle tries to make the passers-by understand that he should cross the lane using cumbersome hand signs. The same ambiguities arise among motor vehicle drivers themselves, especially at intersections. Whether in this case the situation should be clear by taking legal precedence, one sees again and again that one person tries to understand his precedence through interpretations with the hand of the other.
In bad weather or in the dark. However, these hand gestures can only be recognized poorly and sometimes lead to unpleasant confusion and accidents. The present invention relates to a light signal device on motor vehicles, by means of which the safety in road traffic can be improved.
In the drawing, an execution example of the subject invention is Darge provides. 1 shows the signaling device on a vehicle fully in front, Fig. 2 shows the switch of this device on the dashboard of the vehicle, Fig. 3 shows this switch in detail, Fig. 4 shows the device at the rear of the vehicle from the rear and Fig. 5 shows the Signal light at the rear of the vehicle in detail.
The light signal device shown has two colored signal lights El, B that are free-standing or built into the car body on the front, as shown, above the bumper or above the center of the roof, a red and a green electric light next to one another. Furthermore, a blue signal light E is arranged on the rear of the vehicle. The illuminated surfaces of all signal lights are square, triangular, round or oval. The lights are designed as permanent lights or as flashing lights.
The device also includes a switch S on the dashboard of the vehicle within easy reach of the driver, which is equipped with a green control lamp B 'and a red control lamp A'. The blue signal light. E is free-standing or, as shown, is finely assembled with the tail light D and the stop light C. The green signal light B at the front and the blue signal light E at the rear of the vehicle light up together when the switch S is operated in one position. On the other hand, in the other position of the switch, the red signal light A in front lights up alone.
The front signal lights A, B are built into a signal box, which is provided either with colored bulbs and colorless glasses or with colored glasses and white bulbs. The signal light E at the rear of the vehicle consists either of a blue light bulb and colorless glass or of a white light bulb and blue glass.
The signal lights are fed with electricity from the battery, the switch S being a manually operable toggle switch, rotary knob holder, push button switch or pull button switch.
If there are passers-by in front of or on pedestrian crossings or at street intersections, the driver of the motor vehicle must switch on the green signal light B at a distance of 50 to 80 meters, which lights up at the same time as the signal light E at the rear of the vehicle.
The passers-by receive the signal that they are allowed to cross the road and that the vehicle will definitely stop in front of the pedestrian crossing. All oncoming and following vehicles also have to switch on the green signal light B, with the signal light E at the rear of the vehicle prompting every vehicle driver coming behind to also stop their vehicle; this avoids overtaking or driving through the protective strip. If the passers-by have crossed the road, the driver switches off the green signal light B and continues his journey.
The same practice is exercised by all following and oncoming drivers. If there are only a few passers-by at the edge of the pedestal, it will not always be necessary to stop the vehicles. In such cases, the driver of the vehicle indicates his intention not to stop, as this means that he has switched on the red signal light A, which means danger to passers-by, i.e. the passage is blocked. In such situations, drivers who are just following and oncoming motor vehicles also switch on the red signal light A, provided they do not think about stopping their vehicle.
If it happens that at the same moment one driver switches on the green signal light B and the other the red signal light A when two vehicles are coming towards each other, the latter should immediately switch to the green signal light B.
If, on the other hand, two or more vehicle drivers from different directions of travel face each other at intersections and have already stopped their vehicles, then no more hand interpretations are necessary for the onward journey, but the driver who is aware of the right of way of the crossing vehicle is, the green signal light B switches on, with which he gives the other driver to understand the right of way and at the same time ensures that the green signal light B means passage free.
So that the driver can easily check which signal light is switched on, the red control lamp A 'on switch S lights up with the red signal light and the green control lamp B' with the green signal light.
