Mobile regulating for watches. The invention relates to a regulating mobile for watches, comprising a balance, a plate and a spiral spring mounted on a common member. It aims to make it possible to easily replace broken axle pivots without danger of disturbing the perfectly adjusted seems of the balance, the hairspring, the hairspring shell, the plate and. replaced pivots or damage these parts.
It is well known to watch manufacturers that it is customary to provide pendulum axle pivots directly at the ends of this axis, for mounting in stones. The balance, the hairspring, the hairspring ferrule, and the plate are held in a fixed manner on the axis, generally by stamping wise. It is therefore necessary to disassemble the coil and its ferrule, the balance and the plate when an axle pivot is broken and must be replaced, in order to mount these parts on a new balance axle provided with pins suitable for assembly in the stones.
It often happens that one or more of these parts is damaged during disassembly or assembly, and it is extremely difficult and even impossible for a poorly skilled watchmaker to assemble these parts and set them perfectly. It is therefore obvious that with the parts used until now, the repair of a watch in which a pi vot of the balance axis has been broken can only be done. considerable expense and loss of time when it is desired that the regular operation of the watch be maintained.
The object, of the. present invention is a regulating mobile. of which, the pivots can be replaced without having to remove and individually assemble the parts fixed to the balance axis.
According to the invention, the common member on which the balanci, eir, the plate and the spiral spring are mounted is constituted by a hub separate from the axis of the balance, and the latter is. removable, the hub comprising an axial bore through which the removable axis passes, the latter having ends in the form of det pi vots protruding. said hub, and said axle and hub, one having a stopper and the other a recess to receive the stopper for the purpose of maintaining said removable axle in said bore.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is an overall axial section of this embodiment.
Fig. 2 is a view similar to FIG. 1. with the removable axle removed.
Fig. 3 is a view of the removable axle. Fig. 4 is a perspective view on a smaller scale of a watch bridge provided with a groove serving as a container for a spare removable axle.
In the embodiment shown, the hub comprises a conical part 5 and an upper part 6 of reduced diameter for mounting the balance. A further reduced part, 7, for mounting the spiral shell extends upwards from part 6 and ends with the conical end 8.
Below part 5, the hub com takes another conical part 9 extending downwards. It has a slightly conical 10 axial bore, as shown in fig. 1 and 2.
A plate 11 is fixed on part 9 and fixed by riveting, as indicated at 12.
The central part 14 of the balance, generally indicated by 13, is fixed to part 6 of the hub by a rivet 15, and the ferrule 17 of the balance spring 16 is fixed to part 7 of the hub by another rivet 18 The parts 11, 13, 14 and 16, 17 form a permanent unit attached to the hub, and this set should never be dismantled except when these individual parts, other than the pins mentioned below, are defective or out of place in relation to their correct position.
The bore 10 of the hub is sized so that the removable conical pin 19 can be inserted and adjusted with precision, each end of this pin being provided with a normal pivot 20 of reduced diameter and capable of being introduced into a Pierre. The removable axis has at its lower end and above the respective pivot 20 a collar 21 resting against the lower end of the plate 11 and of the body 9, in order to ensure in a definite manner the axial position of the removable axle in the hub.
The fixing of the removable axle in the hub is completed by a groove 22 at the upper end of the removable axle, o groove in which the slit end longitudinally and in the form of a socket 23 of part 8 of the hub is stamped so as to protrude inward. The inwardly projecting portion 23 of the hub holds the removable axle in position, but it is. it being understood that the removable axle can be easily taken out of the bore 10 by applying downward pressure and this without moving or exposing the assembly of the hairspring, the balance and the plate perfectly adjusted to the hub to a force.
Fig. 4 separately shows a bridge 24 of the watch. The lower part of this bridge or any other part of the frame can be provided with a longitudinal groove 25 in which a spare removable pin 19 can be fixed, the edges of the groove being. upset as indicated at 26, in order to retain said removable shaft. In this way, it is always possible to replace the removable axle.
In the event that a watchmaker does not have a removable, corresponding replacement axis, the owner of the watch in which the replacement of a pivot is to be made must not receive a refusal of replacement and such replacement must not either. suffer delay by the need to obtain the part from the factory.
For the replacement of broken pivots of an adjusting mobile, it is only necessary to apply a clamp between the flange 21 of the removable axle and the opposite surfaces of part 9 of the hub and of the plate 11 in order to be able to remove the removable axis of the bore 10 in which it is held by stamping at 22, 23. By turning the bridge 24 of the. My being, the watchmaker will be able to free the removable shaft from the upsets 26, so that this removable replacement shaft is available immediately. This pin can be introduced into the bore and fixed in the position illustrated in FIG. 1, this without removing the plate 7.1, the balance 13 and the ferrule 17 carrying the balance spring 16, which remain perfectly adjusted on the hub.
With this device, it is possible to save approximately 85% of time, labor and costs at the factory, at the dresser and for the owner of the watch.
It is known that attempts have been made heretofore to construct regulating mo biles comprising. removable axes; despite the fact that such constructions have been known for many years, however, they have never given satisfaction in practice and the method of replacing damaged balance axle pivots has remained unchanged until now. The device described in no way prevents the mobile regulating from being executed in individual pieces using different materials.
The particular shape of the conical removable axis 19 with the collar 21, the. groove 22 as well as the embossing sleeve 23 provide a construction whereby all the drawbacks of the constructions practiced hitherto are avoided, providing a very practical regulating mobile.
