Printing machine. This invention relates to a united printing machine which is characterized in that it comprises an inking device having means for triturating the ink, constituted by a hopper intended to containing ink and by a roller closing the orifice, base of said hopper, and a means for animating said roller with a rotational movement around its axis to triturate the ink driven by said roller between the peripheral surface of the latter and the edges of the base orifice of the hopper.
The trituration of the ink in the inking device is intended to return to the ink to its most favorable condition for, printing, just prior to its use.
Said inking device preferably comprises a reservoir for receiving the ink entrained by said roller out of said hopper, said roller being furthermore placed so that a part of # e, the periphery is below the normal level of ink in said reservoir and takes] ink therein to be triturated to again.
The inking device preferably also comprises a means, such as a pump for example, for returning the ink from said reservoir to said hopper.
The means for animating said roller with a rotational movement preferably comprises a motor independent of the drive mechanism of the machine, while means may be provided to ensure the dragging of said roller at will, ie < B> to from said motor., Or to from said drive mechanism of the machine.
This arrangement has the advantage of making it possible to carry out the trituration of the ink while the machine is at stationary, by means of said independent motor, while ensuring the dragging of the roller < B> to from the drive mechanism of the machine during operation of the latter.
The drawing shows, by by way of example, two embodiments of the machine object of the invention, as well as details of two variants.
Fig. 1 is a section through the recording device of a first embodiment of the printing machine according to the invention.
Fig. 2 is a detail view, on on a larger scale, of the inking device shown in in FIG. 1.
The fi. 3 is a section through the device at the heart of a second embodiment of the printing machine according to the invention.
Figs. 4 and 5 are sections of two variants of the inking device shown to in FIG. 1.
In the embodiment shown to in fig. 1, the printing machine comprises an inking device having means for triturating the ink constituted by a roller 1 mounted to rotate and which closes the base orifice of a hopper 2. The wall 3 of said hopper under which the periphery of the roller 1 passes after having passed in front of the orifice < B> of the hopper comprises a portion 4 forming a pallet whose internal surface envelops the, roll 1 over a certain distance and forms an extended surface on which the. ink trituration, driven by the roller occurs.
In a variant not shown, the pallet 4 can be mounted in an adjustable manner on the wall of the hopper to allow the clearance between the roller and the pallet to be adjusted, with a view to adapting it to the special characteristics of Ink.
The roller 1 is disposed in a reservoir 5 and the inking device comprises a transfer roller 6 on which the ink is transferred to, start from roll 1 after it has passed under the trituration face of pallet 4. The ink is then taken on the roll < B> 6 by a transfer roller 7 carried by 8 arms which can oscillate so at that the transfer 7 deposits the ink that it carries on an ink drum 9 which transports the ink on the printing surface to in to create.
The thickness of the ink coating carried by the transfer roller 6 is determined in the usual way a-Li by means of a paddle 10 whose position can be adjusted by adjusting screw wrenches, one of which is shown at 11. The roller 1 closing the hopper is normally driven from from the drive mechanism, the printing machine;
it can also be driven by independent motor means to make it possible to pick up and re-triturate a the ink which has parked in the reservoir 5 during a downtime of the machine. A this effect, as shown to in fig. 2, a shaft 12 linked to the roller 1 crosses a bearing formed in the side wall of the tank 5 and carries a toothed wheel 13 which can be displaced axially to mesh either with a wheel 14 driven from from the driving mechanism of the machine, or with a wheel 15 driven by means of a gear train,
by an independent electric motor for 16. The ink is supplied to hopper 2 either by pouring it into said hopper, or by means of a 'supply 17; this pipe can be connected to the reservoir 5 to allow the ink to be taken up in the latter, in order to triturate it to again .
In the embodiment shown to the fig. 3, the printing machine comprises an inking device comprising a supply pump shown at 18 which sucks ink from a reservoir 1.7 and sends it under pressure to different columns of a printing plate arranged on a printing roller. In this embodiment, the positive inking device comprises means for triturating the ink, constituted as before by a roller 1 closing the key orifice at the base of a hopper 2.
The latter is therefore an integral part of the 17. reservoir. The ink level in the 17 reservoir is held substantially constant by a float 19 which actuates through an arm 20 a valve 21 which controls the supply of ink to the hopper 2.
Fig. 4 represents a vaiiante of the di ,, positive inker represented at the filg. 1. In this variant, the inking device comprises an elevator in the form of an Archimedean screw, intended to return the ink from the reservoir 5 to </ B > hopper 2. This elevator is made up of a screw 21 placed in a tube 22.
The screw, 21 is driven by the intermediary of Lin graining train shown at 23 to starting from the dragging of the roller L The screw 21 makes it possible to return ink from reservoir 5 to hopper 2, to triturate it to again either when the printing machine is running or before 'it is restarted during a shutdown. Such a pump can also be employed in a variant of the embodiment of FIG. 3.
In the second variant shown to in FIG. 5, the tank 5 is of no table depth and the hopper 2 and the roller 1 closing the latter are arranged so to to be moved from a normal employment position shown in solid lines to a loading position shown in phantom, in which the hopper 2 is immersed in the ink of the reservoir. For this purpose, the hopper, 2 and the roller 1 are mounted on slides 24 capable of sliding on guide columns 25 integral with the reservoir see < B> 5.
In all the embodiments and variants shown, the roller 1 is placed so that part of its periphery is below the normal level of the ink in the reservoir 5 and takes ink therein so that it is crushed to again.
