Fig. 6 einen Längsschnitt darstellt,
Fig. 8 einen Schnitt nach Linie VIII-VIII in Fig. 7.

Device for the continuous drying, kneading, mixing and conveying of a material, in particular a sticky and tough material.
For continuous drying, trough dryers are often used which contain a screw conveyor in a trough, which mixes the material and at the same time moves it forward so that the wet material can be fed in at one end and the dried material can be removed at the other end. The tray dryers can be used at atmospheric pressure or under vacuum. But they have the major disadvantage that they cannot be used for sticky and tough substances because these substances stick to the screw. This causes malfunctions.
For mixing and kneading materials, arrangements on the type of gear wheel pumps have been proposed. However, they are not suitable for drying fabrics at the same time, because the fabrics in them are conveyed perpendicular to the axes of the gears, so that the surface area exposed to the action of heat and vacuum is only small in relation to the quantity.
Extrusion presses are often used to convey materials, which z. B. have a propellant hood and symmetrically attached side hoods. These screws run in a precisely adapted, visor-ned housing. The mass to be conveyed moves forward parallel to the axis of the screws. However, it cannot be dried in such an extruder because it completely fills the space between the screws and the housing wall.
The inventive Vorriehtung for the continuous drying, kneading, mixing and conveying a good, especially a sticky and tough substance, is characterized in that two identical screws rotating in the same sense and at the same speed are assembled so that the crests of the one screw engage precisely in the Veilentä1er of the other screw and that at least one of the screws, in order to achieve a conveying effect, a stripping means cooperating with the perimeter of the visual surface is provided.
Embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown on the attached display; show it:
1 and 2 schematically two interacting screws in plan and elevation.
3 and 4 are end views of the two screws with stripping means shown schematically.
Fig. 5 shows the screws installed in a double recess.
Fig. 6, 7 and 8 show a further Ans leadership example, wherein
Fig. 6 shows a longitudinal section,
7 shows a section along line VII-VII in F-ig. 6 and
8 shows a section along line VIII-VIII in FIG. 7.
FIGS. 1 and 2 illustrate two screws A and B rotating at the same speed and with the same speed, the wave crests of one screw engaging precisely in the wave troughs of the other screw.
A particle located at point a in the trough of the trough of screw A describes the following path: If screw A turns clockwise, this particle in the trough of the trough passes through point b to point c. There it meets the wave crest of screw B.
He takes it with him and goes on the crest of screw B via points d, e and f back to point c; there it is pressed into a wave trough of screw A and conveyed back to point a.
If at any point one of the two screws is placed tangentially on a surface which touches the screw circumference, i.e. the wave crests, the tough product, the particles of which are on the wave crests, is pressed down into the wave troughs, as a result of the friction bnv.
Adhesion of the particles mainly in the wave trough in the direction of conveyance. At the moment it is pressed into this trough, the goods are conveyed slightly forward through the screw passages.
By appropriate arrangement of these contacting surfaces, the mass can be forced mainly to rotate in the wave troughs or to rotate on the wave crests, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4. Here again two screws A and B are drawn and touching surfaces are indicated at different points, which cause the following processes: In the arrangement according to FIG. 3, the mass is scraped by screw B out of the wave troughs of screw A and onto the wave crests up to taken to the drawn plate h; there it is mainly pressed into the wave trough that precedes in the conveying direction.
Then it is scraped out by screw A and taken from this on the wave crest to plate i. With this arrangement, it mainly rides on the crests of both screws. According to FIG. 4, it travels on both screws mainly in the wave troughs into which it is pressed by the plates 7b 'and. Each of the plates interacts with the circumference of the screw with a surface placed tangentially on the screw circumference.
According to Fig. 5, the screws A and B are inserted into a double recess. The path of a particle that is discharged into a wave trough by a pouring device (not shown) at one end of the Muldentroekner at point a is as follows: The particle moves in the wave trough over b to c, is scraped out by screw B and moves on the wave crest of Screw B over point d to point e. There it is stripped from the crest of the wave by the surface of the trough that delimits the screw B and is mainly pushed down into one of the two adjacent wave troughs. It travels in the relevant trough of screw B via f to c, where it is scraped out by screw A and guided to point a.
The conveyed material rubs or adheres to the trough surface that delimits the screws at the bottom and acts as a stripping medium at the moment of being pressed into the wave troughs, so that the screw causes it to move in its axial direction and is mainly pressed into the wave trough that precedes the conveyor belt. Therefore, when the particle arrives again at point a, it is further forward in the direction of conveyance by the gradient of the visual passage.
The path described then begins anew on the next visual passage, and the particle is thus conveyed further and further to the other end of the trough dryer, where it can be removed.
During the passage, the material is continuously kneaded and mixed, and drying also takes place during this time, which is particularly facilitated by the fact that the entire surface of the two screws is constantly covered with the material to be dried.
The kneading effect comes about because the screws continuously cut and crush the material.
The screws can also be multi-thread, and to strip the mass from the wave crests, a roller can also be used, which cooperates with the screw circumference and presses the mass into the wave troughs.
The filling device can also be used to add different substances to the two screws at the same time. The constant kneading results in an excellent mixture of the materials.
In order to accelerate the drying, the entire device or a single part, such as. B. one of the screws, both screws c> which also the trough can be heated. The conveying and drying can take place under vacuum, as in known trough dryers, so that the mass can be dried at a correspondingly low temperature.
FIGS. 6 to 8 show an embodiment of the device which is particularly suitable for the continuous drying of sticky and sewn fabrics. The two identical screws Ä and B are located in a double recess s and are driven by the gear unit q in the same direction of rotation and at the same speed. They are hollow and can be heated with steam; the steam is introduced at n, the condensate exits at m. The two screws are installed with the double trough in a housing q, which, except for the lock k, is vacuum-tight and is connected to an air pump through the connector t. The steam entry and exit points are sealed; The screws A and B are also sealed by stuffing boxes o when they enter the housing p.
In order to dry an item, the screws A and B are set in rotation by the gear unit q and heated by the introduction of steam. A first part of the material to be dried is evenly distributed over the screws when the cover of the housing is open. Then the lid is closed and a further amount of the material is added through the funnel r, the lower opening of which is above the screws. The air pump is then connected. The vacuum created in the housing p sucks in good from the funnel r. The material is gradually transported from left to right through the two screws and at the same time dried by the action of the heat given off by the heated screws. At the end of the screws, at k, the housing is designed so that it tightly encloses the screws.
The part k thus serves as a lock for the dried material, which itself creates the seal between the interior of the housing and the outside air.
After leaving the Sehleuse k, the dried goods emerge at 1.
The continuous automatic cleaning of the screw threads also enables precise dosing of the sticky and tough substances. For this purpose, the two screws must be connected to a corresponding filling device. During the passage of the mass, the two screws clean each other so that the passage is always secured.
The devices described also enable continuous kneading and mixing of substances, which work process has so far mostly been carried out in stages.
With the devices described, other than tough and sticky substances can be processed, such. B. color pigments, flours, fibers and the like. The device according to FIGS. 6 to 8 is also suitable for the continuous mixing of liquid and powdery substances to form a paste, e.g. B. one such as is created by mixing color pigments and oil.
