Fig. 3 est une vue en coupe transversale
selon III-III de fig. 2.
Fig. 5 est une vue en coupe longitudinale
partielle selon V-V de fig. 4 et 6.
Fig. 6 est une vue en coupe transversale
selon VI-VI de fig. 5.
Le comparateur d'alésage représenté sur
les fig. 1 à 3 comprend un mécanisme indi
cafteur I dont on n'a représenté que l'enve
loppe.
Bore comparator.
The present invention relates to a bore comparator whose part intended to be engaged in the bore comprises a feeler and a rod serving to transmit the movement of the latter to the indicator mechanism.
Comparators of this type are already known, but they have the drawback of not being able to allow measurements of equal precision for all the amplitudes of the movement of the probe, and this due to the fact that the transmission of the movement between the probe and the aforesaid rod takes place by means of levers, so that the rod performs a movement varying according to a more or less complicated function of the movement of the probe.
The present invention aims to provide a comparator of the aforementioned type, which is free from this defect, and its object is such a comparator, which is characterized in that the feeler and said rod are each secured to a rack, these two racks being engaged with a common idler gear, transmitting the movement of one of these members to the other.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the bore comparator according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a view in longitudinal section of the first embodiment.
Fig. 2 is an exterior view of the part of the comparator according to FIG. 1, where the probe is located.
Fig. 3 is a cross-sectional view
according to III-III of fig. 2.
Fig. 4 is an exterior view of the se
conde embodiment, showing the part
presenting the probe.
Fig. 5 is a view in longitudinal section
partial according to V-V of fig. 4 and 6.
Fig. 6 is a cross-sectional view
according to VI-VI of fig. 5.
The bore comparator shown in
figs. 1 to 3 includes an indi
cafteur I of which we have only represented the env
loppe. This mechanism is actuated, as it
is known, by a rod 2 movable axially.
The comparator further includes a
extension 3 screwed into 4 inside the enclosure
lope of indicator mechanism 1. This ex
tension 3 has a longitudinal channel 5 to
the interior of which is arranged a rod 6 pre
sight to move freely in this channel.
This rod has, at its upper part,
a head 7, subjected to the action of lm spring from
compression 8 which applies it against a bou
tone 9 attached to the free end of rod 2.
Near the free end of the
part 3 is a probe 10, sliding
in two guides 11, 12 of this part 3.
Part 13 of this probe is intended for
come in contact with the interior surface
cylindrical 14 with a bore. The probe 10
is integral with a rack 15 and the part
lower part of rod 6 ends with a cr
mesh 16. These two racks mesh with a common return pinion 17, turning freely in part 3. As can easily be seen, the movements of the probe 10 and of the rod 6 in the longitudinal direction of these members, take place according to directions which are perpendicular to each other. Furthermore, it is easily understood that the movements of the probe 10 are transmitted identically to the rod 6 without variation in precision as a function of the amplitude of this movement.
The rod 6 has, at its upper part, a tenon 18, engaged in a guide groove 19, to prevent this rod 6 from rotating about its own axis. The feeler 10 is prevented from rotating around its own axis due to the cooperation of the teeth of the rack 15 with the pinion 17.
The comparator shown further comprises a part 20. This part comprises a portion which fits against the free end 21 of part 3, and is held applied against this end by means of a knurled screw 22. This part 21 has a slightly protruding portion 23 forming a stop occupying a diametrically opposed position with respect to the active surface 13 of the probe. The part 20 having the stop 23 fits into the profile of part 3 (cylindrical in shape, as seen in FIG. 3), when this part is in the working position, with the exception, however, of the part. 23 forming a stop and which protrudes slightly outside this profile, as can be seen in FIGS. 1 and 3.
It can be seen that the part 20 is fixed in an easily detachable manner, which makes it possible to replace this part at will by another, of similar shape, the stop 23 of which protrudes out of the profile of the casing 3 by a single greater quantity and exactly known. It is thus possible to have a whole set of parts 20 intended to allow the comparator to be used for a whole range of values of bores.
The comparator shown further comprises centering means, the function of which is to force the axis of the probe 10 to automatically coincide with a diameter of the bore when the lower portion of part 3 is inserted inside it. 'a bore. These centering means comprise a member 24 pivotally mounted at 25 on part 3 and subjected to the action of a compression spring 26 tending to rotate this member counterclockwise in FIG. 1. This member 24 is disposed inside a recess 27 of part 3. It is held in place by a plate 28 screwed at 29 to this part 3.
The member 24 ends at its lower part with two parallel branches 30, arranged symmetrically on both sides of the probe 10. These branches 30 each have a portion 31 forming a stop and these two portions 31, which protrude slightly outside the cylindrical profile of part 3 when the member 24 is completely engaged in its housing, are constantly located at an equal distance on either side of the active part 13 of the probe and in the same transverse plane as this part.
When the lower end of part 3 is engaged in a bore, the stop 23 comes into contact with a point on the inner surface of this bore. Furthermore, the two stops 31, under the action of the spring 26, also come into contact with the inner surface of the bore, which automatically centers the feeler 10, such that its axis coincides with a diameter of the bore. bore.
It will be noted that, thanks to the arrangement described, it is possible to use the comparator for diameters of bores which are hardly greater than the diameter of part 3, which is extremely small.
The watch comprises, as is known, a push button 32, designed to act on a part 33 integral with the rod 2, to move the button 9 away from the end 7 of the rod 6.
The feeler 10 is constantly urged towards the position shown in the drawing, for which it protrudes as far as possible outside the cylindrical profile of part 3, and this under the action of the return spring not shown in watch 1. This spring is obviously stronger than spring 8.
The embodiment shown in FIGS. 4 to 6 is designed to measure bore diameters substantially larger than is the case for FIG. 1. In this embodiment, the rod 6 also has a rack 16 meshing with the common return pinion 17, which meshes, on the other hand, with the rack 15 of the feeler 10. However, here, the stop 23, diametrically opposed to the active part of the probe 10, is carried by a part 34 which is screwed into a socket 35 split at 36 over part of its length. This sleeve is fixed to part 3 of the comparator body by three screws 37. A fourth screw 38 enables the two halves of the sleeve 35 to be tightened around the threaded part 34. This part 34 is integral with a knurled knob. 39 for its actuation.
It is easily seen that by adjusting by screwing the position of part 34 within 35, the comparator can be used for a whole range of bores. The immobilization of the stop 23 when its position has been adjusted as just indicated, takes place by tightening the vig 38.
In this second embodiment, the centering means automatically ensuring the coincidence of the axis of the probe 10 with a diameter of the bore 40 are as follows:
These means comprise a plate 41 sliding on a cylindrical part 42 of the body 3 and having two cylindrical guides 43 engaged in two cylindrical holes arranged symmetrically on either side of the part 42, in the same transverse plane as the latter. Compression springs 44 acting inside a recess of the guides 43, urge the plate 41 constantly to the right in FIGS. 5 and 6. Lugs 45 screwed into the body 3 limit the outward movement of this plate 41.
It is understood that, when the lower end of part 3 is engaged in a bore such as 40, the stop 23 and the two curved edges of the plate 41 come into contact at three points of the same transverse plane of this bore . Thus, the axis of the probe 10 is automatically brought into coincidence with the diameter of this bore and it thus comes into contact with a point of said bore which is diametrically opposed to that with which the stop 23 cooperates.
