Remote control device to activate a magneto lighting @ \ de ^ @ ëycle. The object of the present invention -is a remote control device for triggering a cycle lighting magneto, mounted on a pivot perpendicular to the axis of the armature in a support intended to be fixed on one cycle forks.
This positive device is characterized by a stop-catch control mechanism intended to be fixed on the cycle within easy reach of the cyclist, by a return spring integral with the magneto and its support and intended to apply the pressure. magneto thumbwheel against the tire of one of the cycle wheels, and by a mechanical link between the magneto and the stopper control mechanism, the latter maintaining the magneto in rest position against the action of the spring reminder.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the device forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a schematic elevational view thereof, and the fi-. 2 and 3 of the partial front and plan views corresponding to FIG. 1.
In the embodiment shown, the device comprises a magneto 1 mounted on a pivot 2 perpendicular to the axis of the armature in a support 3 fixed to the fork. 4 of the cycle. A spring 5, housed between the pivot 2 and the support 3, tends to apply the wheel 6 of the magneto against the tire 7 of the front wheel of the cycle. The free end of the pivot 2 carries an arm 8 fixed by a pin. At the end of this arm is attached in the usual way a steel cable guided in a sheath 9, the end of which is fixed to an arm 10 integral with the support 3.
.On the handlebars 11, near the middle, is mounted a control lever 12 of the same type as those used for gear changes. The support of this net has an attachment point for the sheath 9 and a stopper making it possible to keep the lever in the lower position, as shown in FIG. 1.
The operation of this device is as follows: To illuminate, the cyclist does. only to unhook the handle 12 from its stopper, pushing it slightly to the side. The lever rises under the traction of the cable driven by the arm 8 moved. by the spring 5. The mo lette 6 of the magneto comes to rest on the tire 7 and the headlight comes on.
To return the, magneto to the rest position, it suffices to lower the lever 12, which engages under its stopper under the action of its lateral support spring.
As a variant, any other type of lever can be provided which can be fixed to the frame of the handlebars. The control cable. remotely can be attached at any point cQnque the magneto or a part which is integral with it. The cable can be replaced by a linkage.
