Schwinghebel-Gegenkolben-Motor.
Rocker arm opposed piston engine. The subject matter of the present invention is a swing arm opposed piston engine which can be made cinfacli and cheap to manufacture and operate, as well as durable and effective.
In the engine according to the present invention (litng a cylinder is attached to the crankcase by means of resilient lamellae in order to take up expansion differences between the two parts.
The push rods are conveniently located between the pistons and rocker arms in the dead center positions parallel to the cylinder axis.
As an embodiment of the invention, re_cYenstandes an air-cooled 4-stroke engine is in the accompanying drawing Darge, namely: FIG. 1 is a vertical section through cylinder and crankcase and FIG. 2 is a plan view with a partial section through the cylinder; Fig. 3 shows the lubrication of the Schwingliel) bearing, piston raceway, a push rod and the cooling of the piston crown.
1 designates the cylinder, 2 the two counter-pistons with the push rods 3 as connecting elements with the rocker arms 4, which are mounted in axes 5 and are attached to the crankshaft 7 by connecting rods G. The tilting devices 4 'for valve actuation are also mounted on the same axes 5. The cylinder 1 is fastened to the crankcase 9 by means of lamellae 8 and ring nuts 1 0.
The rocker arm mechanism is covered by the shuttering 11 to the outside.
The lamellae 8 can, since the stressing forces by the rocker arm mechanism and the crankcase 9 added to who, relatively thin and therefore made of rolled material, they are resilient and z. B. expansion differences between the cylinder 1 and crankcase 9 can compensate.
For the quiet and impact-free operation of the engine, it has proven to be a solution to allow the change of direction of the pistons without normal components, which are also known to be subject to a change of direction. It is therefore expedient to deliberately depart from the usual distribution of the push rod misalignment with respect to the piston, so that the push rods 3 are parallel to the axis of the cylinder 1 in the dead center positions.
The rocker arm shafts 5 are formed from hollow, for the purpose of conducting the lubricant that is fed to both the rocker arms 4 and the piston raceways. The latter happens because the rocking levers 4 temporarily release openings 5 'through their oscillating movement, through which the 01 is fed via channels 12 and 13 to the nozzles 12' and 13 ', through whose oil jets the Push rod 3, the bearings and the Kol benlaufbahn lubricated and the piston head is cooled (Fig. 3).
A similar arrangement by means of channels 1.4 and 15 can also be used for lubricating the connecting rod 6 and the crank shaft 7.
In the case of a 4-stroke engine, the rocker arm arrangement is designed such that the axis for the rocker arm 4 'coincides with the axis 5 of the rocker arm for the valve control.
A single-cylinder engine was described above, but the inven tion can also be applied to multi-cylinder engines.
