Process for the production of zippers. The present invention relates to a method for producing zip fasteners. Vers.chschlussglieder for zippers generally each have a head on which the coupling elements are placed, and two legs for attaching the links to a strap. It is already; known to punch or cut closure members from a strip of material in such a way that the head of a member is formed from the material between the legs of an adjacent member.
As a result, the waste is greatly reduced in comparison with other known manufacturing processes. However, this and other known methods have the disadvantage that the loose locking elements obtained have to be applied individually to the carrier tape at the required spacing, which requires relatively complex devices. This disadvantage can be avoided with the method according to the invention.
Furthermore, the method according to the invention enables the electrolytic treatment of closure members made of metal, e.g. B. the electrolytic oxidation of aluminum or an aluminum alloy made of links.
The method according to the present invention is characterized in that the closure members are cut from a strip of material, the head of each member being formed from the material between the legs of an adjacent member and at least one leg of the member with the rest of the Remain connected, and that the links are then bent out of the plane of the strip to one side, so that a series of links is created,
carried by the rest of the strip. The invention will now be explained in more detail, for example, with reference to the attached schematic drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a strip of material in which a number of closure members are formed before.
Fig. 2 shows the strip shown in Fig. 1 after the links have been bent 90 out of the plane of the strip.
Figure d shows the strip after it has been placed on a tape.
Fig. 4 shows a strip, the members of which are bent out of the plane of the strip by an angle smaller than 90, and Fig. 5 shows a strip, the members of which are connected to one another on only one side. In all figures, the same parts are denoted by the same reference numerals.
In the embodiment shown in Figs. 1, 2 and 3, a plurality of closure members 1 is fen in a material strip. 2, which is slightly wider than the width of the locking links 1.
For this purpose, the coupling elements 3 are pressed at the same distance from each other in the central part of the strip 2 in its longitudinal direction. Then, or at the same time, the strip 2 is cut at equal intervals along the lines 4 (see FIG. 1) so that the cutting lines 4 correspond to the outline of the limbs 1 with legs 8 apart.
The links 1 are arranged in the longitudinal direction of the strip 2 so that the legs 8 of each link diverge to both sides from the center line of the strip 2 and the head 9 of each link is located between the legs of an adjacent link. The ends of the legs 8, however, remain connected to the edge parts 5 and 6 of the strip 2. The limbs are then bent out of the plane of the: strip 2 on one and the same side by 90 animal, as shown in FIG.
The row of protruding closure members shown in FIG. 2 is applied as a whole to a support tape 7 and, if the members are made of metal, pressed onto the support tape so that the members ride on the edge of the support tape, as shown in FIG 3 shows. Then the connections between the members
the parts of the edge 5 and 6 are formed (in Fig. 3 only the edge part 6 is visible), removed.
If the coupling elements 3 of each link 1 are individually pressed or otherwise shaped, and / or if the order of each link 1 is cut individually, the strip 2 is supplied to the relevant mold and / or cutting tool between two operations that the vorsthuh of the strip 2 is in each case equal to the required distance between adjacent links.
If a plurality of coupling elements 3 are pressed or otherwise formed at the same time, and / or if the outlines of a plurality of links 1 are cut simultaneously, which can be done by appropriate multiple tools, the advance of the strip 2 is equal to a corresponding multiple of the distance between neighboring limbs.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 4, the closure members 10 are bent out of the plane of the animal by angles which are different from 90, so that the members 10 are in an inclined position relative to the plane of the strip, the edge parts of which are denoted by 11 in FIG , accept. The closure members 10 take a corresponding. Inclined position on the support tape, if the row of interconnected links is applied as a whole on the support tape.
Tests have shown that the fit of the links on the fastener tape is improved by the inclined position of the links.
According to a further Ausfüh approximately variant, which is shown in Fig. 5, the link legs remain connected to one another only on one side of the links 12. This connection is effected in FIG. 5 by the edge part 13. In contrast, the ends 14 of the legs are free, that is to say they extend to the edge of the material strip.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, the interconnected closure members bent out of the plane of the animal can have a distance from one another which is equal to an integral multiple of the required distance between the members on the carrier tape.
In this case, a plurality of rows of locking links corresponding to the integer multiple can each be fastened as a whole on the carrier tape so that the members sit on the carrier tape at the required distance from one another. For example, adjacent links each one of two rows can have a stand from each other that is twice the required distance of the links from each other on the tape. The articulated legs of both rows can be connected to each other only on one side of the limbs, namely on the opposite one.
These two rows are now placed on the tape that the connections between the links of one row on one .Seite of the tape and the links of the other row on the other side of the tape and the links of a row are in the In the middle between adjacent links of the other row.
Of course, it is not absolutely necessary to place a number of protruding links as a whole on the fastener tape and to subsequently remove the connections between adjacent links. Rather, it is also possible to separate the links from one another before they are applied to the fastener tape and to apply the loose closure members to the fastener tape in any known manner.
It is also possible, for example, to apply only a first link of a series of interconnected links to the fastener tape, then separate this first member from the row, to move the fastener tape in relation to the rest of the row, so that now more the following link, while still connected to the row, can be placed on the liner at the desired distance from the first link than then severing the second link from the row, and so on.
In this case, the distance between the interconnected links from the final stand from the links on the fastener tape may be different.
It is a particular advantage of the manufacturing method according to the invention that links made from yeast can be electrolytically treated in a simple manner before the connections between the links are removed.
The connections serve as electrical conductors that mechanically and electrically connect the links to one another. If, for example, the links still connected to one another are made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy, they can be electrolytically oxidized and then colored if necessary.
If it is intended to separate the links from one another after the electrolytic treatment before they are applied to the traig tape, it is sufficient to move the links only a little, for example only by 10, from the plane of the material strip from which they are made formed to bend out. Diene is sufficient to ensure that the electrolytic treatment (possibly also the subsequent dyeing) of the lateral surface of the links (i.e. the surfaces 15 in FIG. 4)
is not hindered by the connecting parts (which are indicated by 11 in Fig. 4).
However, the invention is not limited to the production of zippers with metal links. Rather, the links can be made of non-metallic material. For example, they can be made of thermoplastic material, and the necessary bending out of the links from the plane of the mate rialstreifens can be done under heat and pressure.
The plastic members can be applied to the support tape in any suitable manner, for example by gluing. If a row of interconnected links is applied as a whole to the fastener tape, the entire row can be glued on at the same time, and the connections between adjacent links can be removed afterwards.
More than one series of interconnected protruding members can also be formed from a single strip of material, e.g. B. the rows are side by side.
