Socket for lamp with switch. The object of the invention is a socket for a switch lamp, characterized in that a control lever for the switch is mounted on the end of a shaft arranged along the axis of the socket, a rod fixed on the end inside the sleeve of said shaft being able to be rotated by means of said control lever, between two stop positions angularly offset,
a movable contact of the switch being mounted so as to be able to pivot about the axis of the socket, and being elastically connected to said rod, by means of a res out which, for one of the positions d 'stop -of the rod maintains the movable contact against a fixed contact, while it maintains this movable contact against an insulating stop for the other stop position of the rod,
the moving contact suddenly passing from one position to the other when the spring passes from one side to the other of the axis of rotation of said contact during the rotation of said rod.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the socket forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an axial longitudinal section of the sleeve along I-I of FIG. 2.
Fig. 2 is a view taken along II-I1 of FIG. 1, the part 2 of the sleeve through which passes the cutting plane being sup posed removed.
The -douille shown has a casing forming an envelope, composed of two parts 1 and 2 connected together by thread 3. These two parts are, for example, made of insulating material, such as synthetic resin.
In the space provided inside the carcass formed by these parts 1 and 2 is mounted a base 4 having a peripheral edge 5 which is clamped between the two parts 1 and 2, when they are assembled by screwing, which prevents any axial displacement of this base 4, while parts of the inner wall of part 1, not shown, form stops preventing any rotational movement of the base 4 inside the carcass.
At the lower part of the base 4 are fixed current input terminals 6. One of these terminals is visible in fig. 1, the second being in front of the plane of the drawing in FIG. 1, these terminals being provided with threaded rods passing through the base 4 over its entire ion gueur, their ends 6 'projecting from the top of the base 4, on an annular ring 7 concentric with the longitudinal axis of the socket, this crowned,
annular pro coming from the fact that the base has an interior -cylindrical recess 8 whose bottom communicates with the underside of the base by a bore 9 also concentric with the axis of the socket.
The terminal located in front of the section plane (I-1, fig. 2) is connected, by the end of its threaded rod, with a conductive part 10 held on the crown 7 by the: said threaded end. This conductive part 10 has a part 11 perpendicular to the crown 7 of the base, and which ends in a ring 12 concentric with the axis of the socket.
Part 2 of the socket frame is intended to receive an electric bulb. For this purpose, it has a threaded hole 13 into which the base 14 of the bulb 15 is screwed.
When the bulb. Is screwed in fully, it comes to bear by -its peripheral contact formed by its screw thread, on said conductive ring 12, while its central contact disposed at the end of its base comes to rest on a conical part. ductor formed by a bridge 16 arranged diametrically on the base 4 and held on the crown 7 thereof by means of a screw 17 passing through the base in its entire length and retained by a nut 18.
Against the bridge 16 is fixed an axis 19 disposed on the longitudinal axis of the socket inside the base. On this axis 19 is rotatably mounted a movable contact 20 of a switch. This contact 20 can move over the width of a notch 21 provided in the side wall of the base 4.
Against one of the faces @de this notch is fixed the fixed contact 22 of the switch which -is integral with a contact piece 23 fixed to the crown 7 of the base 4 by means of the end 6 'of the rod threaded -of the second terminal 6 visible in fig. 1.
Inside the recess 8 of the base is disposed a rod 24, a hollow cylindrical part of which passes through the hole 9 of the base and is force-driven on the internal end of a shaft 25 arranged along the axis. of the sleeve, this shaft passing through a threaded opening 26 provided in the bottom of part 1 of the carcass, a screw 27, axially drilled, being freely mounted on this shaft 25 and being screwed into the threaded opening 26.
The outer end of the shaft 25 is provided with a square part 28 on which a control handle 29 is held by a screw 30 screwing into the end of the shaft 25, along its axis.
The part of the rod 24 which is arranged inside the recess of the base 4 is not cylindrical, but has an eccentric part 31 which, when the rod is rotated by means of the control lever 29, comes abut against one or the other of the two parts 32 and 32 'of the interior of the base which determine two stop positions of this rod, angularly offset with respect to one another.
On the axis 19 is also rotatably mounted a pallet 33 which is integral with the rod 24. The movable contact 20 of the switch is elastically connected to the pallet 33 integral with the part 24, by means of a spring 34. In, fig. 1, the pallet 33 is in front of the plane of the. figure. Its shape is similar to that of the movable contact 20, which allows the spring 34 to pass from one side to the other of the axis of rotation of this paddle.
As seen in fig. 2, when by means of the control lever, the rod 24 is brought into one of its stop positions, with its eccentric part 31 in contact with the part 32 'of the base, the spring 3? maintains the movable contact 20 against the lateral pa king of the notch 21 opposite to that carrying the fixed contact 22. This wall constitutes an insulating stop for this movable contact 20. This position of the movable contact 20, of the pallet 33 and of spring 34 is. represented in lines. full in fig. 2.
When by means of the lever 29, the pallet 33 is moved from this stop position to the other stop position, determined by the contact of the eccentric part 31 with the part 32 of the base, this pallet 33 moves from the position shown in solid lines to the position shown in phantom. During this movement, the spring 34 is stretched and, at a certain moment, it passes from one side to the other of the axis of rotation of the movable contact.
At this moment, the spring acts in the other direction on said contact which suddenly passes into its closed position shown in phantom, where it is held against the fixed contact by the spring 34. When the handle 29 is turned in the 'In the other direction, the mobile contact will pass abruptly from its closed position to its open position, the spring 31 also returning to the first defined position.
Part 1 of the casing of the socket is provided, on the side, with a threaded opening 35 allowing the entry of the current supply wires to the terminals 6. In this thread 35 can be screwed a rigid tube enclosing said feed wires and serving, for example, for fixing the sleeve to a desired location of a machine tool, for example. This tube can be held in position in the internal thread 35 by means of a fixing screw 36 which can be used at the same time. to prevent any rotation of a reflector which would be mounted concentrically to the shaft 25 and clamped between part 1 of the frame and the screw 27.
Part 2 jde the carcass can be easily unscrewed and replaced by another part 2, the thread 13 of which corresponds to the base of another type of bulb.
Part 2 has a cylindrical end on which a reflector 37 can be mounted in friction. This part 2 could also be provided with a groove for bayonet mounting of the reflector 37.
Instead of fixing a rigid tube in the thread 35 of part 1 of the frame, this thread could be used to fix the socket at the end of a flexible cable containing the current supply wires, when the lamp is to be used. be used as a sweeping lamp.
