Device for interconnecting the ends "Id'un link. The object of the present invention is a device for interconnecting the ends of a link, in particular of a flat link such as a bracelet: of a watch, a belt, etc.
This device is characterized by two clasp elements: one of which, permanently attached to one end of the link, has a tongue forming a hook and the other, removably attached to the other end of the link, is made up of by a flow formed by two jaws articulated to one another and which can be folded down and fixed one on the other by tightening the link between them, the tongue of the first element hooking to the another by engaging between one of the jaws and the link between them.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a plan view; fig. 2 is a view: from the side; fig. 3 shows one of the clasp elements seen from below; fig. 4 shows the other clasp element also seen from below; fig. 5 is a longitudinal section of the closed device and FIG. 6 is a cross section along the line VI-VI of FIG. 5.
In the drawing, 1 designates one of the strands of a watch strap, 5 of which is the other strand. At the end of the strand 1 is fixed to de meure, by a bar 3, a clasp element 4 having, on the side opposite to the bar â, a tab 5 forming a hook, presenting on its inner face a projection 6.
On the end part of the strand 2 of the celet strap, which has no holes like the usual straps, is mounted a slide 7 constituting the second element: of the clasp. This @ runner 7 is formed of two jaws 8 and 9 articulated to one another by two pins 10.
The upper jaw 8 is formed by a plate having two lateral cheeks 11 whose edges IV are slightly bent inwards and a small rec tangular opening 12 on the side of the articulation of the two jaws. The lower jaw 9 is a plate without side cheeks whose edge 9 'opposite the articulation is slightly bent inwards.
When the runner 7 formed by the two jaws 81 and 9 is secured on the strand 2 of the bracelet at the desired distance from its end, the lower jaw 9 is tabat on the upper jaw 8 and penetrates between the lateral cheeks 11 thereof, the folded edges 11 'of which close elastically on it. The folded edge 9 'of the lower jaw 9 penetrates into the strand 2 of the bracelet and thus fixes the slide. In the desired position.
To connect the two strands of the bracelet, it is then sufficient to superimpose the strand 1 on the strand 2, to engage the tongue 5 of the element 4 between the plate 8, and the strand 2 on the side of the joint 10 and exert on the strands 1 and 2 a traction in the opposite direction until the projection 6 of the tongue 5 comes to engage in the slot 12 of the plate 8; the two elements of the clasp are thus firmly attached to one another.
The device described and shown makes it possible to adjust the length of the link at will; it suffices to move the runner 7 on the strand 2 after having opened its jaws, using a knife blade for example. It goes without saying that this device can fit any link such as bracelet, belt, strap, garter, etc.
