Description
Fig. 2 eine Stirnansicht hierzu,
Gate direction to ear and nose treatment.
The invention relates to a device for ear and nose treatment by means of warm air, which is characterized in that it has a pipe socket to be inserted into the passages of the organs to be treated in connection with means for heating and blowing the air.
This makes it z. B. possible to use the ear or to treat the inner walls of the nose with warm air. This treatment has proven to be very beneficial for certain ear and nose disorders. The subject of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing, which represents parts of two exemplary embodiments for an ear treatment. Show it :
1 shows a longitudinal section of a pipe socket to be inserted into an auditory canal,
Fig. 2 is an end view of this,
Fig. 3 shows a further embodiment of such a pipe socket in longitudinal section, with a device for heating the air.
According to FIGS. 1 and 2, the outer diameter of the pipe socket a is so dimensioned that it can be easily inserted into the ear canal.
Three radially protruding ribs b made of heat-insulating material lie with their contact surfaces leaf on the wall of the auditory canal and ensure that the pipe socket a is centered so that its wall does not touch the skin. The pipe clip a also carries a flange C to which a holder d to be attached behind the auricle is attached. This can be designed to be adjustable in its height or attached, so that the rear end of the pipe socket a can also be centered.
A device (not shown) is to be connected to the pipe section a1 protruding beyond the flange c, which device has means for heating the Izuft and for blowing it through the pipe a. Here ? to can z. B. an electrically driven and heated air conveyor in the manner of the known hair dryer; Föhn "can be used, either by attaching it directly or by inserting a piece of pipe or a rubber hose.
For treatment, the pipe socket a, as described above, is inserted into the ear canal and then sebickt with a continuous or intermittent stream of warm air. By centering the pipe socket a, there is contact. its hot wall with the skin of the ear canal avoided. The warm air flows back between the ribs b and brushes the entire wall of the ear canal. If the tympanic membrane is perforated, the warm air can also brush the labyrinth and, if necessary, partially flow off into the pharynx. In the embodiment g according to FIG. 3, the pipe socket e is widened at the rear to form a chamber e, to which the connecting pipe section e2 is connected.
An electrical heating resistor f is installed in the chamber el, the connection poles f1, f2 of which are led to the outside in an insulated manner. A bracket g is attached to the front end wall of the chamber el, which can be slipped over the patient's head and is expediently designed or attached to be adjustable higher so that the socket e, as described in the previous embodiment, can be centered in the ear canal. A ring h made of heat-insulating, elastic material supports the tube e against the ear canal.
In the present case, the ring h is designed as an organ that tightly adjoins the auditory canal, as can be useful in particular for the treatment of the labyrinth in the case of eardrum perforation. However, the ring h can easily be exchanged for a differently shaped one, e.g. B. against one with ribs similar to the one b according to Fig. 1 and 2. It then allows the warm air to flow back through the ear canal.
For operation, an appropriate electrical power source is connected to the poles fl, f2 after the pipe socket has been inserted into the walkway and air is blown through the pipe connection eS by a device (not shown), which z. B. can be effected by connecting the usual rubber ball hoses. When flowing through the chamber el, the air is heated to the temperature desired for the treatment by means of the heating resistor f and is brought to the areas to be treated via the pipe socket e. In certain cases, the treatment can be carried out without blowing air.
So it can be B. gen gen, after removing the air conveyor and closing the connecting pipe section e2, switch on the resistance to the air that is to be treated. Place in contact to bring to the desired temperature.
