Description
Terfahren zur Herstellung einer neuen Base. Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu einer neuen Base gelangt, wenn man das Amid aus technischer Stearinsäure mit Formaldehyd zum N-Methylolamid umsetzt und anschlie ssend auf das so erhaltene N-Methylolamid ein Salz des Monomethylamins und.Form aldehyd einwirken lässt.
Die Umsetzung des N-Methylolamids mit dem Salz wird zweckmässig in Gegenwart einer Säure ausgeführt, z. B. in Anwesenheit von Eisessig, welcher gleichzeitig als Lö sungsmittel wirkt.
Die neue Base bildet ein weisses Pulver, welches in verdünnten Säuren löslich ist. Die Salze der neuen Base können als Textilhilfs mittel, z. B. als Weichmachungsmittel, An wendung finden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 4 Teile einer Monomethylaminacetat- lösung in Eisessig, die 255'o7 Base enthält, werden mit 20 Volumteilen Eisessig ver dünnt, worauf man bei 70-80 unter Rühren 8 Teile N-Methylolstearinsäureamid, welches aus technischem Stearinsäureamid mit Formaldehyd erhalten wurde, einträgt. Nachdem sich letzteres klar aufgelöst hat, fügt man zum Reaktionsgemisch 2 Teile Para- formaldehyd und rührt letzteres bei der an gegebenen Temperatur so lange,
bis eine Probe desselben in verdünnter Essig- oder Ameisensäure klar löslich ist; was zirka 90 Minuten dauert. Nach dem Abdestillieren des Eisessigs imVakuum wird der Rückstand mit Wasser verrührt und gleichzeitig mit Natronlauge alkalisch gestellt. Man erhält dabei die neue Base als weisses Pulver, welches in verdünnten Säuren löslich ist.
Die stark schäumenden Lösungen dersel ben zeigen kationaktive Eigenschaften und fällen sulfogruppenhaltige Farbstoffe aus ihren Lösungen aus. Das Produkt ist ein hervorragendes Weichmachungsmittel für Textilien.
