Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen Amidderivates. Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu einem neuen Amidderivat ,gelangt, wenn man tech nisches Stearinsäureamid, Formaldehyd und ein Gemisch von glykolsaurem Natrium und Kochsalz, wie man es durch Einwirkung von Natriumcarbonat auf Chloressigsäure erhält, aufeinander einwirken lässt.
Die Umsetzung wird zweckmässig in Ge genwart eines Lösungsmittels und vorteilhaft unter Zusatz einer Säure ausgeführt, z. B. in Anwesenheit von Eisessig, welcher gleich zeitig als Lösungsmittel wirkt.
Das Natriumsalz des neuen Amidderiva- tes bildet ein weisses Pulver, das in Wasser löslich ist. Es kann als Textilhilfsmittel, z. B. als Mittel zum Wasserabstossendmachen von Textilien, verwendet werden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 360 Teile technisches Stearinsäureamid werden in 300 Volumteilen Eisessig gelöst. Bei 75-80 werden unter ,gutem Rühren 428 Teile eines Gemisches von glykols.aurem Na trium und Kochsalz, wie es<B>,</B> durch Umsetzung von Chloressigsäure mit Natriumhydroxyd oder Natriumcarbonat erhalten wird, und 120 Teilen Paraformaldehyd zugegeben.
Nach 15stündigem Rühren wird die dickflüssige Masse zu einer Lösung von 900 Teilen Na- triumcarbonat in 6000 Teilen destilliertem Wasser unter Rühren zufliessen gelassen. Die Temperatur soll unter 20 gehalten werden. Nachdem alles eingetragen ist, wird eine Stunde bei Raumtemperatur gerührt, auf 70 erhitzt und 900 Teile Natriumchlorid zu gegeben. Bei weiterem Erhitzen auf 90-95 scheidet sich das Umsetzungsprodukt ab: Es kann durch Filtration isoliert werden und stellt nach dem Trocknen ein weisses Pulver dar, das in Wasser löslich ist.

It has been found that a new amide derivative is obtained if technical stearic acid amide, formaldehyde and a mixture of sodium glycolate and common salt, as obtained by the action of sodium carbonate on chloroacetic acid, are allowed to act on one another.
The reaction is conveniently carried out in the presence of a solvent and advantageously with the addition of an acid, e.g. B. in the presence of glacial acetic acid, which also acts as a solvent.
The sodium salt of the new amide derivative forms a white powder that is soluble in water. It can be used as a textile auxiliary, e.g. B. can be used as a means for making textiles water repellent.
<I> Example: </I> 360 parts of technical stearic acid amide are dissolved in 300 parts by volume of glacial acetic acid. At 75-80, 428 parts of a mixture of glycolic acid sodium and common salt, as is obtained by reacting chloroacetic acid with sodium hydroxide or sodium carbonate, and 120 parts of paraformaldehyde are added with thorough stirring.
After stirring for 15 hours, the viscous mass is allowed to flow into a solution of 900 parts of sodium carbonate in 6000 parts of distilled water with stirring. The temperature should be kept below 20. After everything has been entered, the mixture is stirred for one hour at room temperature, heated to 70 and 900 parts of sodium chloride are added. The reaction product separates out on further heating to 90-95: It can be isolated by filtration and, after drying, is a white powder that is soluble in water.
