Rollenbahn.

Roller conveyor. The subject of the invention is a roller conveyor which is used for the automatic conveying of objects such as e.g. B. work pieces and the like, between individual jobs on the same route. This promotion was previously usually provided by endless belt conveyors or roller conveyors with uninterrupted movement, the speed of the movement being chosen so that it corresponded to the average performance at the work sites. But if the removal of the workpieces was interrupted at one point, e.g.
B. as a result of a malfunction in the machine tool or for other reasons, the objects were piling up or they were passed on unprocessed until it was finally necessary to stop the tape. But then the objects to be processed had to be removed for another job well in front of the designated space.
The roller conveyor according to the invention does not have these disadvantages. Here the conveyed objects can be held at one point on P (r without disrupting the operation of the railway in other parts.
This is achieved in that the web is provided with rollers which are freely rotatably mounted on driven shafts and are only carried along by the friction by the moment of rolling friction caused by the weight of the object being conveyed on the circumference of the Rol len is smaller than the moment of sliding border friction in the surfaces of the bearing of the rollers on the shafts. When the objects are held, e.g. B. by a Haltevor direction, the rollers slide on their shafts.
Through a suitable choice of the bearing conditions, the sliding friction between the rollers and the shafts is advantageously determined in such a way that it only exerts a little greater force than the force required to move the objects being conveyed on the track. transmits so that the sliding of the rollers on their shafts is associated with only a small loss of driving force.
In the accompanying drawing, some exemplary embodiments of the subject invention are shown, with Fig. 1 a partial view of the roller conveyor, Fig. 2 and 3 illustrate longitudinal sections through a driving roller of this web.
The conveyor track according to Fig. 1 has a number of driving rollers 1, between -elchen one or more support rollers? can be arranged. The driving rollers 1 are freely rotatable on their shafts 3 and the shafts 3 are driven by a motor z. B. by means of the sprockets 4 and the chains 5 ben industry. The track is used to convey the objects 6, which are placed directly or with the help of the pads 7 on the rollers. will.
The load 6 from the weight Q causes a reaction P on the contact surface of the rollers 1. For the movement of the object: there is a force Q o -I- Q sin on the path; necessary, where n is the coefficient of rolling friction and; are the angle of the slope of the path.
The greatest force that can be transmitted from the shaft 3 to the roller 1 (Fig. \?) Without sliding is P r, where i is the coefficient of sliding friction. This force is then applied to the circumference of the rollers in the ratio of the radius of roller 1 and shaft 3

reduced, and this force. must be greater than the above-mentioned force Q n -; - Q sin y, so that the movement of the object takes place on the path.
This condition can always be met for small angles y, because the coefficient of sliding friction is many times greater than the coefficient of rolling friction.
If there is an obstacle on the track that stops the object 6, sliding occurs between the shaft 3 and the roller loaded by the object being held, without the operation of the roller conveyor being disturbed in other parts. Through a suitable choice of conditions, it can be achieved that the force transferred to the rollers by the friction is only sufficient to move the objects on the track and no unnecessarily large energy when the objects are stopped is consumed by friction.
Fig. 3 shows the longitudinal section through another role. The actual role 1, z. B. made of wood, rests here on the conical discs ben 8, which are wedged on the shaft 3.
The magnitude of the force which is transferred from the shaft to the roller can be determined by the choice of the ratio, assuming that the coefficient a is unchangeable
EMI0002.0058
or can be changed by the angle (3 of the cone.
Instead of conical disks, the rollers 1 can also be used on roller-shaped, respectively. be mounted cylindrical disks.
