Process for the production of three-tension-free steel wire strands and ropes and device for carrying out the same. For the production of tension-free wire strands and ropes, a number of methods are known and applied to the wor, which by means of bending devices that are used either on the stranding element, on the finished strand or on the finished rope, the strand or the rope more or less make tension-free. The strands and ropes made according to this manufacturing method do not jump open when cut and are soft and flexible.
However, it has been shown on the finished strands and ropes that these, if they are very thin (for example less than 4 mm in diameter), regardless of whether one of the above-mentioned methods was used or not, are still harmful when unwinding Torsion tensions included. These tensions appear during and after unwinding from the winding drum in that the strands or ropes bend or loops easily when being laid out. Such strands or ropes are then unusable for some purposes (for example as deposits in rubber tires or hoses).
These remaining torsional stresses have so far been disregarded in the known Seilherstel treatment methods (which only eliminate bending stresses); As investigations have shown, apart from the production of the wires through to winding them onto the machine supply reel, they are mainly due to the fact that the rope elements are not guided through the stranding machine completely smoothly and, as a result, those at the guide points (via rollers or Sleeves)
Frictional forces acting on the rope elements - cause twisting of the stranding elements in the sense of the stranding machine circulation. With each rotation of the stranding basket by 360, depending on the magnitude of the frictional force per lay length, the stranding element is carried along and twisted by a more or less small angle in the direction of the rotation of the stranding machine. All of these torsional stresses in the rope elements then get into the strand or rope when they become stiff. So they are not eliminated by the means mentioned at the beginning, which only more or less compensate for the bending stresses of the strands and the rope.
In the case of thin strands or ropes, these tensions make these tensions more noticeable in spite of the only small torsional forces in relation to the thin wire or strand cross-sections, because the frictional forces can twist the thin wire more easily over a certain length than the thick wire, which because of it greater rigidity opposes the rotating forces with greater resistance.
The invention relates to a process suitable for eliminating these torsional stresses, which consists in that the stranding elements are given an adjustable twist by forces acting on their circumference, which is opposite to the direction of rotation of the stranding machine, and whose size is the same or approximately equal to the size of the twist that is caused on the stranding elements by frictional forces when passing through the guide points in the stranding machine in their direction of rotation.
These untwisting balancing forces can be applied using suitable devices, for example as frictional forces on the surface of the strands or wires, either in front of the stranding point or on the stranded material, that is to say on or behind the stranding point. The friction surfaces of the devices used to generate the counter-rotation can stand still in the room or revolve around the stranding element, and they can be pressed onto the surface of the stranding elements by variable weight loading or spring force, so that the size of the counter-rotation according to the required untwisting by Ver - Change of the opposing forces can be regulated.
In the following, at the edge of the figures in the accompanying drawings, embodiments of devices are described for example, which can be used to practice the method according to the invention.
In Fig. 1 and 2 an example embodiment is shown in which the stranding caliber is rotated in the opposite direction as the stranding basket, the circumferential press bearing is made in two parts and by means of a spring the pressure on the finished strand or the finished rope is adjustable. 1, 2 and 3 denote the stranding elements coming from the guide disk 4 of the packaging machine. The stranding caliber 7, driven by the drive G, with the press bearing shells 8 and 9), which can be set to the desired pressing pressure by a spring 10, is mounted in the bearing 5. The finished strand or rope is labeled S.
The torsional tensions of the stranding elements 1., 2 and 3 etc. are eliminated here by turning the strand in the opposite direction or the rope as a whole shortly after the stranding point. The contact pressure and the number of revolutions are regulated in such a way that a certain slip occurs between the rope leading to the take-up reel and the press bearing shells and that a torque is transmitted to the rope through friction, the magnitude of which is the sum of the oppositely directed torsional stresses of the cable elements is the same.
Instead of designing the stranding caliber (or part of it) in this way,. A special two-part caliber with rotating crimping jaws is also arranged directly behind a common, non-rotating stranding caliber.
In FIG. 3, another embodiment of the device for these rotary voltages is shown, which consists of the following. Instead of having the stranding caliber rotate in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation of the stranding machine, a friction bearing rotating around the strand or the rope S or friction rollers (pairs of rollers) is arranged behind the stranding caliber.
11 denotes the (non-rotating) stranding k aliber, behind which a roller holder 14 with (for example grooved) friction roller 15 is mounted in bearings 12, driven by gear 13 opposite to the direction of rotation of the stranding machine. Here too, by changing the number of revolutions and by regulating the contact pressure, the slip between the pulley and strand or rope and thus the counter-rotation can be regulated.
Another device, which also performs the untwisting on the completely stranded strand or on the rope, is shown in a view and from the side in FIGS. 4 and 5. It has a pair of rollers 17, 18 which are axially parallel to the strand or the rope and whose lower roller is fixed and the upper one is movably mounted, so that the contact pressure 19 on the strand or the wire is supported by weights or springs Rope S can be changed. Between the rollers, the strand or the rope can be held by guides on the side.
Instead of compensating for the torsional tensions of the rope elements by means that rotate in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation of the stranding basket, the counter-twist can also be generated by stationary means. Such means are shown in FIGS. 6 and 7 respectively. from the side represents Darge and consists in the fact that behind the twisting caliber 20 around the strand or.
the rope as far as possible at a distance at which the effect is still communicated to the unswisted stranding elements, a wire, a strand or a rope 21 made of organic material or metal running along a helical line, expediently opposite to the direction of rotation of the twisting drum, i.e. in the direction of lay of the stranding elements is wound around in several turns and loaded at the free end.
In this device, a torque is exerted on the stranding elements when the strand or rope passes through because the stranding elements form an angle to the direction of movement as a result of their lay. The counteracting rotation, that is, the untwisting, can be regulated by changing the length of the wrapping 21 attached to one end or by changing the weight or spring load 22 attached to the other end.
As already mentioned at the beginning, the same result of the untwisting can be obtained by not applying the adjustable counter-rotation on the finished strand or on the finished rope, i.e. the combined elements, but on each individual wire respectively. every single strand by means of the described Einrichtun conditions directly in front of the press store. However, in this case you need as many devices as wires BEZW. There are strands in the rope.
If you want to eliminate the bending stresses in the production of very thin wire ropes or strands, the Ver can drive according to the invention and the devices described above for untwisting in conjunction with the prior art low-stress wire ropes known devices are used. This results in thin strands and ropes that are very soft and flexible, the elements of which do not spring out and which then also have no twisting tension.
The simultaneous use of, for example, preforming by bending the rope elements and untwisting is important insofar as neither preforming nor untwisting can completely replace preforming.
Tests carried out on very thin ropes or strands showed that the untwisted but not pre-formed rope is free of torsional stress (i.e. it lies on the winding reel without torsional stress and can be laid down completely straight without any torsion), but more or less pops open the preformed rope does not open afterwards, but still has torsional tension.
Thus there is a noticeable difference in the product whether you switch off the untwisting device and only work with a device to remove bending stresses, or whether you switch off the bending device and only work with untwisting.
Conveniently, the described untwisting in the production of the strands and then when stranding the Lit zen to the rope is used again for thin ropes laid from strands in order to keep complete freedom from torsional stress.
