Description

Presse d'outilleur.

Toolmaker press. The invention relates to a tool press comprising two cooperating jaws that can be moved closer to or away from each other by means of clamping screws which pass through them, this tool press being characterized in that one of the two jaws includes. two screw passage holes, in each of which is provided a threaded stud embedded transversely with respect to the hole through which the screw passes, said clamping screws being screwed into these studs.

This type of construction gives the jaws great mobility, flexibility of use and the possibility of clamping an object without causing torsion on the screws, even if, due to the shape of the object, said jaws are not not parallel to each other.

In the accompanying drawings, there is shown, only by way of example, a tool press seen in longitudinal section in FIG. 1 and in profile in FIG. 2i. The press shown has two cooperating jaws 1 and 2 which are brought together or removed by screws 8 and 4.

The part of the screw through the jaw 1 has the form of two truncated cones opposed by their large bases and has a circular groove 5 where the large bases meet, into which a pin 6 enters. allowing the rotation of this screw while preventing its exit.

The jaw 2 is provided with two holes 8 through which the screws pass and which are slightly flared on both sides of the jaw; in each of these holes there is provided a threaded stud 7 which is embedded transversely to the hole through which the screw passes, the two screws 8 and 4 being screwed into these two studs 7.

The flares of the holes 8 allow the jaw 2 to pivot lightly. The screw 4 takes up a fulcrum, at its end, at the bottom of a cavity 9 hollowed out in the jaw 1.

Depending on the shape of the object to be clamped, the jaws may take the position indicated in FIG. that is, to be concurrent.
