Process for the production of cords with shaped bodies separated from one another by intermediate spaces and a press tool for carrying out the process.
The invention relates to a method for producing cords with shaped bodies separated from one another by interstitial spaces.
Such cords have hitherto been produced by pre-perforating the shaped bodies and lining up the perforated bodies.
Furthermore, a type of production is known which is used in easily meltable materials and according to which the melted material is poured into appropriate molds and the thread is placed in the molten material, whereupon the molds are kept cool. After the material has cooled, moldings are produced which — separated from one another by the molds — form cords.
The range of application of the known methods is limited, however, since the first-mentioned method can only be used with materials of a certain hardness, while the use of the other method is limited to easily fusible materials.
A disadvantage of both methods is that they are lengthy and cumbersome, since the perforation of the individual moldings, resp. heating, molding in molds and cooling of the material take a considerable amount of time and therefore these processes are not suitable for mass production.
In contrast, according to the invention, a particularly suitable pressing method for mass production is proposed. The essence of the process is that the granular or powdery material to be pressed is brought into the cavity of a preform, in which the thread intended for threading is passed in the transverse direction, on which the material is pressed while the thread is depressed is pressed on, whereupon the thread is moved further by one part after the pressed shaped body has been ejected and the pressing is repeated.
During the pressing process, the thread is preferably pressed against the bottom of incisions in the press mold.
The invention also relates to a pressing tool for carrying out the method.
The tool according to the invention has a cylindrical press mold provided with incisions, a movable punch which moves in its cavity and is provided with wings, the wings of which are guided in incisions in the press body during pressing, the bottom of this incision forming the abutment of the threading cord, and also a immovable under punch during the pressing process.
The wings of the upper punch of the pressing tool expediently extend to a lower level than the bottom of the punch in order to hold down the threading thread during the downward movement of the punch.
The incisions of the preform and the wings cooperating with the incisions of the upper punch are expediently arranged diametrically opposite one another, and the number of wings or the incisions are also more than two.
The press form is arranged in a support that is operated by one or more. ren, running perpendicular to the pressing direction, opening into the incision of the pre-cavity and the thread-guiding bores is penetrated.
An example of an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 shows the cord with molded bodies that are separated from one another by gaps.
Fig. 2 shows in a diagrammatic representation for performing the method according to the invention certain pre-tools in a pushed apart position.
Fig. 3 shows. Below, partially in longitudinal section, the pre-tools according to Fig. 2 in their La. ge after the test process.
4 shows, schematically, an eccentric press which is suitable for carrying out the method according to the invention and is provided with the said pressing tools.
In the figures, the same elements are provided with the same reference symbols.
The cord, which consists of the shaped bodies 1 separated from one another by spaces, and the threading cord 2 (Fig. 1), is produced with the aid of the pressing tool ge mal3 Fig. 2 2. This pressing tool consists of a hollow cylindrical press mold 3 provided with incisions, an upper punch 9, provided with wings 4 and moving into the cavity 8 of the latter, and a lower punch 5 which is immovable during the pressing process. The incisions 7 of the pre ¯form 3 are deeper than half their height.
During the pressing, the wings 4 of the punch 9 penetrate the incisions 7 of the press mold 3, the threading cord 2 only lying on the bottom of the incision 7.
The pressing process is clearly visible from Fig. 3. The wings 4 of the press ram 9 extend below the level of the bottom of the ram 9. In this way, the thread 2 is pressed against the bottom of the incision 7 of the press mold 3 during pressing and the thread comes to lie in the center of the molded body 1. There. the wings prevent the thread from being cut.
The incisions 7 of the preform 3 and the wings of the upper punch 9 that interact with these incisions are arranged diametrically opposite one another in the example shown (FIGS. 2 and 3). This a sehnitte as well as the wings can of course also be arranged in a different way, for example in the form of a three-pointed or multi-pointed star. The Einehnitte 7 of the mold 3 are deeper than half its height. so that the thread 2 resting on the bottom of the middle 7 after pressing penetrates the center of the molded body l.
The preform 3 is arranged in the support 11, which is penetrated by a horizontal bore 12 leading into the incision 7 of the preform 3 and guiding the threading thread 2. The inclined holes 13, 14 are used there. zenstÏubte as well as the surplus material to discharge (Fig. 3).
4 schematically illustrates an eccentric press equipped with the press tool described. The main shaft 15 is driven by the pulley 16.
17 denotes datS flywheel. To pivot the Speiaetrichters 6 about the shaft 21 is a seated on the shaft 15, with a circumferential groove out constant disk 18, which. the crank 24 sitting on the rod 23 dera. rt. controls that the feed triohter 6 is pivoted about the plate 21 before the pressing by the rod 25 in such a way that the funnel lands over the cavity 8 of the preform 3 while it swings out of the path of the press ram during pressing.
The disk 20, which sits on the shaft 15 and controls the punch 9, and the eccentric disk 19, which controls the stamp 5, are arranged offset from one another.
The intermediate spaces between the shaped bodies to be compressed on the threading thread are regulated with the aid of a thread tensioning device, preferably a resilient drum.
The mode of operation of the eccentric press described is as follows:
The material to be pressed is fed through the feed funnel 6 into the cavity 8 of the press mold 3 through which the threading thread passes in the transverse direction. The feed funnel 6 is then pivoted around the shaft 21 and thus the cavity 8 of the preform 3 is free, and the eccentric 20 pushes the punch 9 into the cavity 8 of the press mold 3, the wings 4 pressing the thread into the incision 7 of the preform . The punch 9 is then lifted by the eccentric disk 20 and the already completely deformed molded body is lifted through the lower punch 5 under the action of the eccentric disk 19.
The crank arm 24 seated on the rod 23 is controlled by the groove 22 of the disk 18 in such a way that the funnel 6 comes back into the feeding position, whereby it moves the mold body 1 above the cavity 8 of the preform 3 in front of it and thus the thread moves on according to a division. The intermediate spaces between the form can kcrpern bezw by regulating the stroke of the organ moving the feed hopper. by changing the pretension of the organ that gives the threading a pretension, preferably a spring-loaded drum.
The method described is suitable for pressing drugs, disinfectants, sweets, moth repellants, for example paradichlorobenzene, camphor, naphthalene, etc. onto a thread; however, any desired plastic shaped body cords can also be pressed in at the same time as the process is rapid. In this case, the plastic in the preform is brought into the plastic state suitable for compression by heating.
If the method described is modified, two or more shaped bodies can also be pressed simultaneously on the same thread, with two or more pre-tools provided next to one another working simultaneously. The press molds operating simultaneously can be arranged along a straight line or along an arc of a circle.
