Description
Yerbr ennungskr aftmotor.
Internal combustion engine. The invention relates to a special arrangement of an internal combustion engine, the noises and pops occurring during the operation of such engines should be suppressed as possible, so that this can easily be used as a transportable drive for electrical generators, compressors, pumps and the like can be used in noise-sensitive systems.
According to the invention, this is achieved in that the internal combustion engine is built into a sound-insulated, portable box in which the supply and exhaust air ducts for the fresh and cooling air are expanded with baffles in such a way that the sound waves are broken.
An embodiment of the subject invention is shown in the drawing, namely the figure shows in a schematic manner a portable box with built-in internal combustion engine and generator in longitudinal section. The box, consisting of the lower part 1 and the rotatable cover 2, is completely lined with sound-insulating material. In the lower part 1 of the internal combustion engine 3, for example a gasoline engine, and the generator 4 directly coupled to this is built in permanently.
The fresh -bezw required for the operation of the unit Cooling air is conveyed by means of an on-the-fly fan 5 arranged on the motor shaft. The air is sucked in through the opening 6 in the long side of the box, with most of this fresh air flowing between the baffles 7 and 8 directly to the engine 3, while the remainder passes the generator 4 and only after cooling has taken place the same to the engine 3 flows.
A certain amount of fresh air is consumed by the carburetor 9, which supplies the required fuel-air mixture for the operation of the engine 3 in a known manner. All the remaining air is used to cool the internal combustion engine 3, the air flowing past the cylinders of the engine 3 provided with cooling fins being forced by the special shape of the fan housing 10 to cool the cylinder head of the engine.
The heated air finally reached between the baffles 11, 12 to the outlet opening 13 seen in the front wall of the lid 2 to build in the box yourself. In the latter case, due to the additional heat radiation, a correspondingly larger volume of cooling air is required. The lower part of the box is formed with a double bottom 14 which serves as a fuel container.
Due to the special air flow with means of the baffles 7, 8, 11, 12, which is indicated in the figure with arrows, and the sound-insulating lining of the Ka most of the annoying operating noises of an internal combustion engine are largely reduced.
If desired, the generator driven by the internal combustion engine can also be arranged outside the box.
Instead of a generator, any other auxiliary machine, for example a compressor or a pump, can easily be driven by means of the internal combustion engine described.
