Chauffe-pieds.
L'objet de la présente invention est un chauffe-pieds. Ce chauffe-pieds est caractérisé par une niche destinée à y placer les pieds et à entourer partiellement les jambes, et par au moins un corps de chauffe aménagé à l'intérieur de cette niche.
L'avantage principal de ce chauffe-pieds est d'avoir une efficacité remarquable avec une consommation très minime.
Le dessin ci-annexé représente, à titre d'exemple, une forme d'exécution du chauffepieds faisant l'objet de l'invention.
La fig. 1 en est une coupe transversale et la fig. 2 une vue de face.
Dans la forme d'exécution représentée, le chauffe-pieds comprend une niche dans laquelle on peut placer les pieds et qui enveloppe partiellement les jambes. Cette niche est formée d'un fond isolant 1, de parois la térales 2 et 2', d'une demi-paroi antérieure 3 fixe ou mobile fermant la partie inférieure de la niche, d'une paroi arrière inclinée 4 portant un corps de chauffe, et d'un plafond 5. Le fond 1 est plus fort que les parois et le plafond de la niche.
Le corps de chauffe est constitué par une ampoule électrique 6 montée dans un logement 7 faisant réflecteur.
Le principe de ce chauffe-pieds est le sui vant: L'ouverture de la niche est dimensionnée de façon à permettre d'y passer facilement les pieds tout en étant presque fermée par le haut des jambes. A cet effet, la demiparoi antérieure peut être mobile. La chaleur de convection crée une circulation d'air chaud à l'intérieur de la niche, tandis que la chaleur de rayonnement chauffe les jambes et les pieds, en partie directement et en partie par réflexion sur les parois. A cet effet, la surface intérieure des parois pourra être polie, si la niche est en métal, ou simplement recouverte de papier métallique, de vernis aluminium, etc., de façon à lui donner un haut coefficient de réflexion.
Dans une variante, le corps de chauffe pourra être placé sur le fond 1, sous un double fond ajouré, par exemple. Les parois peuvent être montées sur charnières pour permettre de replier la niche sur elle-même, à la façon d'un cartable, afin de réduire son encombrement lorsqu'elle n'est pas utilisée.
Le fond isolant pourra aussi présenter une couche d'air ou de matière isolante telle que du liège ou du feutre.
Le logement 7 pour l'ampoule électrique pourra être placé plus bas dans la paroi 4. On pourra en outre disposer sur ce logement une grille amovible de protection du corps de chauffe.
Enfin, on pourra aussi prévoir plusieurs ampoules électriques ou tout autre corps de chauffe, électrique ou non. Le fond pourra, par exemple, être muni d'un coussin électrique.
Foot warmers.
The object of the present invention is a foot warmer. This foot warmer is characterized by a niche intended to place the feet therein and to partially surround the legs, and by at least one heating body fitted inside this niche.
The main advantage of this foot warmer is to have remarkable efficiency with very low consumption.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the foot warmer which is the subject of the invention.

In the embodiment shown, the foot warmer comprises a recess in which the feet can be placed and which partially surrounds the legs. This niche is formed of an insulating bottom 1, of the lateral walls 2 and 2 ', of a fixed or movable front half-wall 3 closing the lower part of the niche, of an inclined rear wall 4 carrying a body of heater, and a ceiling 5. The bottom 1 is stronger than the walls and the ceiling of the niche.
The heating body consists of an electric bulb 6 mounted in a housing 7 acting as a reflector.
The principle of this foot warmer is as follows: The opening of the niche is dimensioned so as to allow the feet to pass easily while being almost closed by the top of the legs. For this purpose, the anterior half-wall can be mobile. Convection heat creates warm air circulation inside the doghouse, while radiant heat heats the legs and feet, partly directly and partly by reflection from the walls. For this purpose, the interior surface of the walls can be polished, if the niche is made of metal, or simply covered with metallic paper, aluminum varnish, etc., so as to give it a high coefficient of reflection.
In a variant, the heating body could be placed on the base 1, under a double perforated base, for example. The walls can be mounted on hinges to allow the niche to be folded back on itself, like a satchel, in order to reduce its bulk when not in use.
The insulating base may also have a layer of air or of insulating material such as cork or felt.
The housing 7 for the electric bulb can be placed lower in the wall 4. We can also have on this housing a removable grid to protect the heating body.
Finally, it is also possible to provide several light bulbs or any other heating element, electric or not. The bottom could, for example, be provided with an electric cushion.
