Centrifugal pump without a stuffing box, especially for corrosive liquids. The invention relates to a rotary pump without a stuffing box, in particular for corrosive liquids, in which the sealing of the shaft carrying the impeller is carried out by a hydraulic seal which at least includes part of the impeller shaft.
In the drawing, an execution example of the invention is shown.
Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section through the same, and Fig. 2 shows the impeller in a plan view.
The pump body 1 consists, for. B. made of acid-resistant material. The impeller shaft 2 carries at the lower end 2 'a wheel 3 with blades 4 on its lower and blades 5 on its upper side. A disk 6 limits the space in which the impeller 3 is up and has a seat 7 for the housing B. The Ge housing 8 has an outlet 9 as an overflow and is with its flange 10 on the disk 6 and on the pump body 1 fastened with screws 11, with between. the metallic parts of the sealing body 12 secure the seal.
The disk 6 has a sleeve-shaped extension 13, the diameter of which is greater than that of the end 2 'of the one that carries the impeller. Shaft 2, so that an annular space 14 for the liquid L is ent, which is connected to a second annular space 16 formed by the extension 13 and the bell 17 of the shaft 2. The annular space 16 is in turn connected to a third annular space 18 formed by the bell 17 and the housing 8. All three annular spaces are filled with liquid, so that a hydraulic seal for sealing the shaft 2 is formed.
At the beginning of the suction of the pump, the shaft 2 of which is coupled to a motor, the liquid must already be in the ring 14, 16 and 18. This liquid for filling the pump can, for. B. are supplied from the pressure line 19. If the pumped liquid is flammable, the hydraulic seal could cause hazards to the extent that gases respectively. Vapors escape through the outlet 9. To avoid such disadvantages and to expand the application area of the pump, a non-flammable liquid Y, z. B.
Mercury, while the annular space 14 is filled with the delivery liquid L. A filler neck 21 is provided for filling the annular spaces 16 and 18 from the outside and a tap 22 is provided for emptying these annular spaces. A suction pipe (not shown) is connected to the pump body 1, from which the pumped liquid is fed through the suction opening 20 to the impeller. In order to prevent the annular spaces 14, 16 and 18 from emptying when the pump is switched off, a valve is built into the suction pipe to prevent the pumped liquid from flowing back.
