Brake system with at least two newspaper networks for trucks, buses and the like. The invention relates to a brake system with at least two line networks for trucks, buses and similar heavy vehicles or vehicle trains.
In such brake systems, one brake is operated, for example, for an axle or an axle group by a gaseous pressure medium and the other brake example, for a second axle or axle group by hydraulic fluid.
Since the compressed gas brake should be set up. is intended that the brake pressure generated by it, acts back on the brake foot lever to make the braking effect felt by the driver, and since the hydraulic fluid keitsbremse works in this way anyway, the driver in the known brake systems requires ver effort when braking which places high demands on the driver's physical strength even when the brakes are occasionally used, and which exceeds his physical strength when the brakes are used more often or for longer, for example when driving downhill.
In this regard, to facilitate the operation of the brakes is the purpose of the brake system according to the invention.
According to the invention, precautions are taken in: the control device direction of the brake system in order to use the pressure of the gaseous agent of one brake to increase the pressure on the fluid of the other brake and thus relieve the driver when braking.
The design is advantageous such that the piston located in the brake valve - or. a membrane of the same nature reaches when braking under the air pressure developing in the air brake cylinder and transfers this pressure to the brake control lever, but at the same time also acts on the piston generating the fluid pressure in the other brake in the sense of increasing the fluid pressure.
From the brake system according to the invention, four embodiments on the drawing voltage in Figs. 1 to 4 in section are schematically illustrated ver.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, the hydraulic fluid brake 1 may be the brake for the front wheels. The one with \? designated compressed air brake cylinder may then the braking of the rear wheels the NEN. The housing 3 of the control device contains a fluid pressure generating cylinder 4 which is flanged on or which forms a unitary component with it and which is connected to the fluid brake cylinders of the brake 1 by a pipeline.
The brake foot lever 5 acts by means of a rod 6 on a hollow cylindrical or sleeve-shaped part 7 which is displaceable in the housing 3 of the control device and which enters the housing 3 via a tight guide 8. In the sleeve-shaped part 7 there are two transverse walls with valve seats 9 and 10 which work together with valves 11 and 12. Valve 11 is the brake cylinder filling valve and valve 1.2 is the brake cylinder venting valve.
Corresponding to this importance of the valves, the compressed air tank 1.3 ruled out on the hül sen-shaped, movable part 7 in the housing 3, while the openings 14 of the brake cylinder venting are used in the housing wall. On the sleeve-shaped part 7, an annular piston 15 is displaceably, but guided, arranged. It engages with a bow-shaped part 16 through openings in the wall of the sleeve-shaped part 7 and serves to actuate the valves 11 and 1.2.
A spring 17 is supported on the one hand against the piston 15 and on the other hand against an outwardly projecting collar of the sleeve-shaped part 7. The valves 11 and 12 are under the action of closing springs 1.8 and 19. At the end located in the housing 3. According to part 7, levers 20 and 21 are articulated, the ends of which lie against the piston 15. The horns 22 and 23 of the piston 24 generating the fluid pressure are supported against these levers.
The sleeve-shaped part 7 protrudes beyond the articulation points of the levers 20 and 21 in the direction of the piston 24 in order to ensure that the hydraulic brake works effectively if the compressed air brake fails. If the hydraulic fluid brake fails, a stop 25 located on the piston 24 rests against the bottom of the cylinder 4; this ensures the effectiveness of the compressed air brake.
The effect of the brake system is as follows: If the brake foot lever 5 is stepped down in the direction of the arrow for the purpose of braking, the sleeve-shaped part 7 moves to the right. The piston 15 increases; next part of this shift. As a result, the piston 24 is also displaced to the right, and the hydraulic fluid brake 1 is applied slightly.
With further United displacement of the sleeve-shaped part 7 to the right, the piston 24 offers resistance. As a result, the piston 15 is displaced to the left by the levers 20 and 21 against the spring 17, and the valve 12 is closed and the valve 11 is opened.
Compressed air flows to the brake cylinder 2 and simultaneously acts on the left side of the piston 15. The piston 15 now acts on the piston 24 by means of the levers 20 and 21, so that the latter generates a higher fluid pressure. The increase in the air pressure acting on the left side of the piston 15 leads to a small shift of the piston to the right, whereby the valve 11 is closed without the valve 12 being opened.
The force to be applied by the driver to move the piston 24 is joined by the force of the compressed air on the left side of the piston 15 and relieves the driver. This compressive force translates by means of the levers 20 and 21 on the sleeve-shaped part 7 and makes the effect of the compressed air brake 2 felt at the driver's feet.
In order to be able to change the transmission ratio within the levers 20 and 21. H. in order to move the points of application of the horns 22, 23 on the levers 20, 21 and thus change the ratio of the force of the piston 15 to the foot force exerted on the brake foot lever 5, the ends of the horns 22, 23 can be opposite the levers 20, 21 can be slid and fixed in any position. The same purpose can be achieved by making the ends of the levers 20, 21 adjustable relative to the piston 15 in a similar manner.
It is important that the pressure of the air of one brake is used to increase the pressure on the fluid of the other brake.
The brake system described above is intended for trucks in which one axle is equipped with a hydraulic fluid brake and the other with a compressed air brake, the brake pressure generated in the compressed air brake supporting the pressure build-up in the hydraulic fluid brake and being relieved by the driver when operating the brake pedal .
In Fig. 2 of the drawing, a brake system is illustrated, which is suitable for car trains (railcars and trailers).
The hydraulic fluid brake for the railcar is again denoted by 1 and the housing of the control device by 3 and the fluid pressure generating cylinder by 4. The brake foot lever 5 acts via a rod 6 on a hollow cylindrical part 7 displaceable in the housing 3. On the hollow cylindrical part 7 there is arranged a piston 8a which is displaceable towards the opposite side and which is supported against the housing 3 with the interposition of a spring 10a. In the nern of the hollow cylindrical part 7 is a valve seat 9 which cooperates with a valve 11 on an intermediate wall.
An open-air opening 12a located in the hollow cylindrical part is used in conjunction with the valve 11 for venting .der connected to the housing 3; Trailer brake line 2a, in which the pressure is to be reduced for the purpose of braking the trailer. The valve 11 is connected to valves 14a by support arms 15a. The valves 14a monitor passage openings in the piston 8a.
The Ge housing 3 is on its side opposite the trailer brake line 2a with the brake air reservoir 13 in connection. At the closed end of the hollow cylindrical part 7, which protrudes into the housing 3, levers 16a are articulated, the ends of which rest against the piston 8a.
Against these levers, dividing the same in a certain ratio, lie horn-like projections 17a of the pressure-generating piston 18a of the railcar hydraulic fluid brake, which is displaceable in cylinder 4 and is under pressure in line 2a when the brake is released, so that the railcar brake is kept under tension.
The effect of this brake system is as follows: If the brake foot lever 5 is stepped down in the direction of the arrow in order to perform a brake application, the hollow cylindrical part 7 moves to the right. The piston 8a may or may not take part in this displacement, it depends on its resistance to movement.
The inner ends of the levers 16a are moved to the right when the hollow cylindrical part 7 is moved and cause the Druekiquidskol- bens 18a to be shifted to the right, which at most applies to the brake shoes of the railcar, which guides the brake drums.
The valve 11, which is under the action of a closing spring, participates in the movement of the hollow cylindrical part 7 ae lits; H. it remains on its: seat during this movement. The valves 14a also take part in the movement. The piston 8a may have remained in its original position or it may also have shifted slightly to the right.
From the moment when the brake shoes of the railcar brake are applied, the piston 18a is held. The further movement of the hollow cylindrical part 7 to the right leads to the fact that the piston 8a is displaced to the left by means of the horn-like lugs 17a and the lever 16a, that is, the valves 14a move towards the right; As soon as these are on their seats, they are moved to the left 17e together with the piston 8a, i. H. the valve 11 is opened and the trailer brake line 2a is vented, d. H. the trailer brake applied.
The pressure in the housing 3 to the right of the Kol ben 8a falls with the pressure in the trailer brake line 2a, until finally the pressure of the brake air reservoir 13 on the left side of the piston 8a gives this a right-hand movement, overcoming the movement resistance of the piston 18a. In this way, the piston 8a helps to move the piston 18a to the right, so it takes on part of the work that would otherwise be reserved exclusively for the driver's muscle strength.
It is therefore possible to use this braking system to brake even the heavy railcars of trucks with trailers, without the driver having to exert himself beyond his or her ability.
The degree of advance of the trailer braking compared to the railcar braking is due on the one hand to the different sizes of the areas exposed to pressurized air on both sides of the piston 8a --- the right side of the piston is larger by the area of the hollow-cylindrical part 7 - and on the other hand due to the Division of the lever 16a by the lugs 17a.
The embodiment shown schematically in Fig. 3 of the drawing relates to a brake system for a truck, whose railcar is equipped with a hydraulic brake with two line networks and the trailer with a compressed air brake. In this exemplary embodiment, the support that the force generating the brake fluid pressure of the railcar brake receives from the operating means of the trailer brake is limited to a partial fluid brake of the railcar.
This relieves the driver for this partial brake, i. H. the force required by the driver is less; The possibility of the one partial brake of the railcar remaining active in the event of the other partial brake becoming damaged while maintaining the operational readiness of the trailer brake is preserved, and in the event of the trailer brake becoming damaged, the operational readiness of the two partial brakes of the railcar is maintained, with only a reduction in the braking effect occurs in one of the two partial brakes of the railcar, insofar as
as for this part of the brake the cooperation of the operating means of the trailer brake no longer applies, which in the event of such occurrences still offers a sufficient possibility of stopping the vehicle train.
According to Fig. 3 of the drawing, la and 1b are the two partial brakes of the railcar, the brake foot lever 5 acting in a known manner on a rocker lever 19a, which in turn is directly connected to the pressure generating piston 18a of a partial brake of the Triebwa gene on the pressure generating piston 18b the other part of the brake of the railcar but with the interposition of the piston 8a of the trailer pneumatic brake acts.
For the purpose of braking, the brake foot lever 5 is depressed, so that the fluid pressure generating piston 18a at one end via the rod 6 and the rocking lever 19a and at the other end via the hollow cylindrical part 7, the lever 16a articulated to it and the lugs located on the fluid pressure generating piston 18b 17a, the piston 18b is moved to the right, whereby the fluid pressure required to easily tighten the brake shoes is achieved in the partial brakes la and 1b of the railcar.
The transmission ratio in the linkage is selected so that when the brake foot lever 5 is pushed further, the pistons 18a and 18b initially stop, while the reaction via the lugs 17a and the .Hebel 16a causes the piston 8a to move to the left, which. the valves 14a in the piston 8a are closed while the valve 11 is opened. The trailer brake line 2a is vented via the outlet opening 12a, and the trailer brake is applied.
After a certain pressure drop on the right side of the piston 8a, the overpressure on the left side of the piston 8a causes the compressed air reservoir 13 to shift the piston 8a to the right, which in turn shifts to the right via the lever 16a and lugs 17a: the piston 18b in the Sense of the firm tightening of the partial brake causes 1b, whereby the desired support of the driver when tightening .the liquid brake is achieved.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 3 of the drawing, the force of the compressed air to generate the liquid pressure is used only for a partial liquid brake of the railcar.
In Fig. 4 of the drawing an Ausfüh approximately example is illustrated in which the force of the compressed air in the control device of the brake system benefits the two partial brakes of the railcar. In addition, this figure shows the possibility of connecting the railcar handbrake with the control device of the pneumatic trailer. This connection is carried out in such a way that when the handbrake is operated, one wheel group of the motor vehicle is mechanically braked by it, with additional hydraulic braking, while the other wheel group of the motor vehicle is braked purely hydraulically and the trailer brake is actuated pneumatically.
The railcar is equipped with the partial liquid brakes la for the front wheels and 1b for the rear wheels. Both parts of the brakes have independent pipe networks, but have a common hydraulic fluid cylinder 4 in that two pistons 18a and 18b arranged one behind the other with a gap are provided. The piston 18a is used to generate the liquid pressure in the partial brake la and the piston 18b to generate the liquid pressure in the partial brake 1b. The handbrake lever 26, which is seen in a well-known manner with a rack and pinion lock, acts via a Ge linkage, in its place in the illustrated embodiment a pull cable 27 occurs, in a purely mechanical manner on the brake jaws of the rear brake 1b.
He is by a tension spring 28 with a. Schwing- hel, el 19a connected, on which the brake foot lever 5 and the connecting rod 23 which is articulated on the hollow cylinder part 7 also act.
