Spray hand device for atomizing paint or similar spray material. The invention relates to a spray hand device for atomizing paint and similar Lich spray material with a motor-driven be, an auxiliary liquid promoting main pump and an auxiliary pump driven by the auxiliary liquid speed for pushing off the spray material through a nozzle. The arrangement of a special auxiliary pump is to prevent the access of the spray material to the finely crafted control parts of the main pump in these spray devices,
otherwise the spray material with its abrasive components would very soon wear the pump parts to such an extent that proper conveying and the generation of the required pressures is no longer possible.
According to the invention, in order to achieve this goal even better, in contrast to the known paint syringes in which the auxiliary pump is a piston pump, this auxiliary pump is a diaphragm pump. This membrane pump, known per se also in cooperation with a main piston pump acting on an auxiliary liquid, is according to the invention, however, so angeord net and installed that its membrane and valve are housed in a cup-like, detachable auxiliary housing inserted into a corresponding recess in the device housing ,
which also contains the connection channels to the main pump and the spray nozzle.
This accommodation of the diaphragm pump in an inserted auxiliary housing is of particular importance in the field of spray guns. In view of the aim to achieve the lowest possible weight of such devices, in this case it is necessary to manufacture the housing from a very light material. Magnesium alloys of the type known commercially under the trademark "Elektron" are preferably used.
With these cast housings, however, one has to find in an extremely large number of cases that the pressures occurring in the paint syringe of over 150 atm. (see German patent no. 607001) because of the unavoidable casting pores. With the new installation method of the diaphragm pump described, it is possible without significant additional weight to manufacture the auxiliary housing, which is exposed to the high pressure, from another high-pressure liquid-tight material such as steel, bronze, etc.
In the case of diaphragm pumps of the type in question for the paint syringe, correct clamping is very important for the durability of the diaphragm. In the known pumps you have their edge as firmly and immovably clamped and achieved for the movements of the Mem brane perpendicular to their plane necessary flexibility by additional material in the form of waves in the membrane. When the membrane hits, only the waves stretch, while the membrane edge remains firmly clamped.
However, the endurance tests preceding the present invention have shown that corrugated membranes should be avoided as far as possible for the pressures in question and especially for the high number of minute strokes, since the first approaches to later fatigue fractures are very easily generated during their production.
Appropriately, a very special type of voltage is therefore provided for the membrane, which allows a non-corrugated membrane to be used. The edge displacement towards the center of the membrane, which is necessary in this case for the membrane deflection perpendicular to its plane, can be made possible in such a way that the edge is clamped between elastic rings, which in turn are held between clamping rings in such a way that
that the parts lying on the membrane edge and the inner edge parts of the elastic rings that are to be located after the membrane center point have the possibility of yielding in the direction of the membrane center point. Only the parts of the elastic rings resting on the clamping ring support surfaces and facing away from the parts clamping the membrane edge are held immobile by the clamping rings.
Advantageously, the clamping of the membrane is such that it is held between the elastic rings with a very specific, neither too great nor too small pressure. This can be achieved in that the clamping rings are firmly connected to each other in such a mutual position that the optimal clamping pressure occurs on the clamped elastic rings.
The tightly interconnected clamping rings, the elastic rings clamped in between and the membrane can then together form a finished component that can be obtained from the factory and which the owner of the paint syringe can easily replace without having to insert the wrong membrane - has to fear.
In the drawing, a Ausführungsbei game of the subject matter of the invention is shown cal cally.
1 shows a view of an entire paint sprayer, FIG. 2 shows a section through the housing attachment of the sprayer located in the spraying direction in the central axis section, while FIG. 3 shows the associated cross section. In Fig. 4 and 5, the clamping of the membrane edge is on a larger scale, the one time with unloaded and the other time with loaded membrane, is provided.
The following parts can be seen on the sprayer: A housing 1 with an attached handle 2 and outlet nozzle 23, a rear cover 3, and a dome-like approach 4, the meaning of which will be described below. In the handle 2 opens an elec trical power supply line 5, which can be switched on and off by a housed in the handle i, not signed th switch.
Of the electric motor accommodated in the device housing 1, only the armature 6 is indicated by dashed lines. It drives, via gears 7 shown in dashed lines, a face cam disk 8, which in turn moves a pump plunger 9 back and forth in its cylinder 10 in cooperation with a non-visible return spring.
This cylinder runs from a reservoir provided in the dome 4 through the opening 11 a lubricating auxiliary fluid, namely a. 01 is equivalent to or related to the plasticizer of the material to be sprayed. This 01 is fed from the piston 9 through the channel 12 to the pressure chamber 13 in front of the membrane 14. It is important to choose a 01 of the type described so that if the membrane breaks, the auxiliary liquid then sprayed out does not spoil the part being sprayed.
The membrane set in motion by the intermittent promotion of the auxiliary liquid pushes the color flowing in from the paint container 15 via a supply line 16, a connection joint 1.7, the channel 18 and a check valve 19 through a channel 20 to the spray nozzle 21. The spray nozzle is with the aid a union nut 22 at the end face against the housing connector 23, in which the diaphragm pump is located, and is adjustable from the outside by a knurled nut 24 in its pretension.
By means of the trigger guard 25, the För quantity per stroke of the main pump 9, 10 and thus also the flow rate of the diaphragm pump is to be regulated via an adjusting device not specifically shown.
In the larger-scale representation of FIGS. 2 and 3, ver various other items and especially the placement of the diaphragm pump in a special housing can be seen in addition to the parts already described. In the example shown, the support-like approach 23 on the housing 1 contains a transverse bore 26 with a stop shoulder 27.
The cup-like diaphragm pump housing 28 bis is pushed into this bore to sit on the stop shoulder 27 and is secured in the pushed-in position by the bolt 29 (fix. 3). The connection of this diaphragm pump housing 28 to the cylinder 10 and to the nozzle 2 is with the interposition of pierced spacers 30 respectively. 31 made, of which one (30) between the cylinder 10 and a corre sponding pressure surface of the housing 28 switched on and the other (31) in the housing 28 is inserted.
The cup-like membrane housing 28 contains a longitudinal bore which is eccentric to its outer cylinder jacket and into the bottom of which the inlet channel 12 provided in the housing 28 opens. At the bottom of the Beclher recess of the housing 28, the membrane 14, to be described in more detail below, is inserted with its clamping elements with a plane parallel to the direction of spraying. It is held in this position by an intermediate piece 33 fitted into the beehole bore and clamped by means of a union nut 32.
The part of the intermediate piece facing the membrane basically contains a central bore 36, the seat ring 34 for the cone 19 of the check valve. This cone is pressed against the seat surface by a helical spring 35.
In addition to the central bore 36, the outlet channel 37 leading to the intermediate piece 31 and from there to the nozzle can be seen.
Above and coaxially to the back check valve 19 and thus also perpendicular to the membrane plane, the inlet 18 is also provided in a central bore of the intermediate piece 33 for the paint. A screw 38 is screwed into the upper end of the intermediate piece 33, which holds the connecting joint piece 17 for the paint supply.
The shaft of the screw 38 is hollow and in the region of the hollow joint piece 17 is provided with transverse passages 39 through which the paint from the joint piece 17 can enter the cavity of the screw. In. This cavity of the screw 38 is guided by a pin 40 which has a conical collar 41.
This conical collar is pressed by a spring 42 against a corresponding inner cone of the cavity of the screw 38 and forms a vent valve for the paint supply line. The air that collects at the hinge point and is carried along by the paint can be drained by depressing the end of the pin 40 protruding from the screw head. The pin 40 is designed so long that it can lift the valve cone 19 of the check valve from the seat rings 34 when the pressure is correspondingly low.
The in Figs. 4 and 5 drawn on an even larger scale, the membrane enthal tend chock forms a closed unit and is supplied in this form by the manufacturer as a spare part if necessary. The chock consists of two clamping rings 43 and 44, between which elastic rubber rings 45 and 46 are arranged, wel- before the edge of the membrane 14 hold.
The outer clamping ring 43 has an approximately L-cross section. The inner surface of the shorter L-leg is intended as a support surface for one rubber ring 46 and has circumferential grooves 47 in its part facing the longer L-leg, which hold the part of the rubber ring 46 resting here against displacement towards the center of the membrane.
The parts of the ring 46 that do not engage in the grooves 47 still have the option of pushing against the center of the membrane as shown in FIG. 5 when the membrane is deflected.
The clamping ring 44 is pushed into the ring 43, the long leg of which originally had the form shown in dashed lines and only after pressing the ring 44 up to the stop collar 48 of the ring 43 in the solid position was umör delt and turned off. The thickness of the elastic rings 45 and 46 and that of the ring 44, together with the position of the stop 48, are matched to one another in such a way that, when the ring 44 is fully pressed in, exactly the desired pressure is generated on the membrane edge.
At this pressure it is on the one hand still possible for the elastic rings 45 and 46 to follow the membrane edge as it moves towards the center of the membrane, and on the other hand they still seal sufficiently with this bias.
