Description
Brisanter Sprengstof.
Ebenso vorteilhaft ist die Hinzufügung von ameisenaurem Äther des Pentaerythrits zu Mischungen von Pentrit oder T4 mit an dern organischen Sprengstoffen mit hohem Schmelzpunkt, zum Beispiel Nitromannit, Nitroisobutylglyzerin, Tetranitromethylani- lin etc., allenfalls bei Hinzufügung eines oder mehrerer oxydierender, anorganischer Salze;
Explosive explosives. It is known that both pentritol (pentaerythritol tetranitrate) and T4 (trimethylene trinitramine) are explosives that are difficult to handle because of their shock sensitivity and because of their high melting point and are not particularly suitable as explosive explosives for military purposes .
It has now been found that if amei sensate esters of pentaerythritol, in particular the tetraformate, are mixed with a shock-sensitive explosive, for example in a ratio of 20 to 80 ° with pentrite and T4, the aforementioned explosives assume a high level of shock resistance and despite the one keep a good part of their explosiveness. If these explosives are heated to a temperature of no more than <B> 100 '</B>, they become sufficiently liquid to be able to fill empty housings with them.
Example 1: A mixture of 60 parts of pentritol (melting point 141 ° C) and 40 parts of pentaerythritol tetraformate (melting point 53 to 54 ° C) is around 80 to 85 '</B> C liquid; this mixture does not explode, even if it is subjected to a shock of 2 kg from a height of 2 m.
(The pure pentritol explodes with a shock of 2 kg from 30 to 35 cm falling height.) <I> Example 2: </I> A mixture of 70 parts of pentritol and 30 parts of pentaerythritol tetraformate is approx. <B> 95 ' </B> C liquid; the mixture does not explode, even if it is subjected to a shock of 2 kg from a height of 2 m.
It is also advantageous to add formic acid ether of pentaerythritol to mixtures of pentritol or T4 with other organic explosives with a high melting point, for example nitromannitol, nitroisobutylglycerin, tetranitromethylaniline, etc., if necessary with the addition of one or more oxidizing, inorganic salts;
or at most with the addition of easily oxidizable metal powders that are suitable for increasing the temperature of the decomposition gases.
