Description
Additional patent to main patent no. 205537. Process for the production of a readily soluble acidic alizarin dye. The present invention relates to the Her position of a new, easily soluble acidic alizarin dye and is characterized in that 1-amino-4-mesidinoanthrone-2-sulfonic acid is converted into the lithium salt by treatment with lithium carbonate.
Example: The dye of the formula
EMI0001.0009
is mixed with water to form a homogeneous paste and lithium carbonate is added in portions with thorough stirring until the free sulfonic acid has been converted into the corresponding lithium salt. The neutral respectively obtained in this way. weakly alkaline paste is now dried and ground.
The lithium salt thus obtained is a dark blue powder. 37 parts of it dissolve in 1000 parts of hot water, while only 10 parts of the corresponding sodium salt dissolve in hot water.
