Description

Waterproof watch case with top and bottom seals. The invention relates to a waterproof watch case.

According to the invention, the wrist watch case consists of a thick-walled upper part of the case in the form of a rectangular frame with the upper, inward protruding edge of the glass frame and with lateral horns, between which the bracelet connecting bar is held, of an unbreakable watch glass held under the edge of the glass frame with a buttoned flange edge, from a frame-shaped clock carrier with recesses provided on its surface and lower surface with inserted elastic seals, from a case back with the recess on the lower surface of the carrier frame correspondingly,

A frame-shaped strip on its inner surface and with screw-on lugs that fit into cutouts in the connecting stud horns of the upper part of the housing, and finally from head screws, which are sunk into the screw-on studs and screwed into threaded holes in the connecting stud horns, hold the whole thing together and press the seals together.

In the drawing, for example, an embodiment of the subject invention is shown. 1 shows the wristwatch case in a vertical longitudinal section along line A-A of FIG. 2, FIG. 2 shows the same watch case, right in top view, partially broken off, left in bottom view, also partially broken off.

The upper housing part a consists in the example provided of a rectangular frame with strong, evenly thick walls 1, with inwardly protruding glass frame edge 2 from the upper edge and with horns extending outward perpendicular to these at the ends of the transverse sides of the frame 3 for the strap connecting webs 4. An unbreakable watch glass b with its buttoned flange 5 is under the glass frame edge \? of the upper housing part a held.

In the upper housing part a, a work support frame c is fitted, which with paragraphs 6 in its four corners encloses a barrel-shaped space. On these paragraphs 6 the clock mechanism d is placed with outwardly projecting edge parts 7.

The movement d carries the dial e and the hands / '. The factory tragrabmen c has a recess 8 and 9 on its upper and lower surface, into which recesses elastic seals 10 and 11 are inserted. The upper recess 8 is arranged as a groove on the outermost, rectangular upper edge of the support frame c, so that the seal 10 rests on the outside on the inner circumference of the housing upper part a and above on the underside of the flange edge 5 of the watch glass b and is thus enclosed on all sides.

The Ausspa tion 9 on the underside of the support frame c follows the barrel-shaped inner circumference of the latter and forms a groove in its arcuate longitudinal parts, which closes the seal 11 from below and from both sides, while the transverse parts de! Recess 9 form a groove on the outside of the lower edges of the support frame e, so that the seal 11 is encompassed by the frame from above and inside, and from the outside by the inner circumference of the upper housing part a.

The upper housing part a is closed from below by a base g, which has a bar 1 \ 2 which engages vertically in the recess 9 on its inner surface and which impresses the seal 11 into the recess 9. The elastic seals 10 and 11 are pressed together by vigorous pressing of the base g against the work support frame c and securely seal the wrist watch case on the glass frame and on the base edge.

To keep the parts in this position, the bottom g has lugs 13 on its four properties, which with their ends 14 extending over the transverse sides of the bottom g jump into recesses 15 on the underside of the horns 3 .

These ends 15 are provided with bores 16 and the overlying points of the horns ä of the upper housing part a with Ge threaded bores 17, in which latter head screws 18 countersunk in the lugs 14 to attach the bottom g to the upper housing part a to hold the whole thing together and compressing the seals are screwed in.

The wristwatch case described has the advantage that it has a seal between the watch glass frame, the work support frame and the upper part of the housing, and a seal between the work support frame and the bottom of the case, so that no water can penetrate the joints between the housing parts and no ozvd can form. The housing can easily be taken apart at any time.
