La fig. 1 est une élévation partie en coupe d'une première forme d'exécution de ce dis positif; la fig. 2 en est un plan; la fig. 3 est une coupe suivant la ligne III-III de la fig. 1; la fig. 4 est un plan d'une variante se rapportant à cette forme d'exécution; la fig. 5 est une élévation partie et) coupe d'une deuxième forme d'exécution; la fig. 6 en est un plan ; la fig. 7 est une coupe suivant la ligne VII-VII de la fig. 5 ;
Device for laying a pile. The subject of the invention is a device for the laying of piles comprising a hand ram serving to drive a body into the ground, said ram comprising a member having the general shape of a pipe closed at its upper end and intended to slide the length of a body to beat and to act on this body like a hammer, device of which the sheep is provided with at least two handles fixed to the sliding member in a rigid manner and making it possible to prevent the sheep from bouncing after the shock.
The sliding member can be constituted by angles or flat bars; it may have filling pieces removably fixed inside said member with a view to adapting its internal cross section to the section of the body to be beaten.
The handles may be provided with means for attaching extensions.
The device may further include means for drilling the ground to enable the piles to be engaged prior to driving. These means may include a tool having a straight rod carrying a tubular or wedge-shaped or circular point-shaped drilling piece, this tool possibly being dark in the ground using the ram to make a hole in which or sinks then a stake.
The sheep can act on the body by driving it into the ground, either by beating it directly or by beating a piece placed on the head of this body and transmitting to it the shocks of the sheep, this piece being able to be an extension formed by a bar provided with a sleeve intended to adjust it to the head of the body to be driven in.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, three embodiments of the device forming the subject of the present invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevation partly in section of a first embodiment of this positive device; fig. 2 is a plan; fig. 3 is a section taken along line III-III of FIG. 1; fig. 4 is a plan of a variant relating to this embodiment; fig. 5 is a sectional elevation of a second embodiment; fig. 6 is a plan; fig. 7 is a section taken along line VII-VII of FIG. 5;
fig. 8 is a sectional elevation of a third embodiment; fig. 9 is a plan; fig. 10 is a section taken along the line Y-g of FIG. 8; figs. 11 and 12 are respectively titi plan and a section of a variant relating to this third embodiment; fig. 13 shows the device in two different working positions and FIGS. 14 and 15 are detail views of this device.
The sheep shown in Figs. 1 to 3 com takes titi sliding member 1 having the shape of a cylinder open at its lower end and closed at its other end or top by a plug 2. The transverse section of the sliding member 1 may be of any shape. The stopper 2, which acts as a hammer or heavy member, fits into the cylinder of the sliding member and has a rim flush with the walls of the cylinder. Handles 3 formed by metal tubes are arranged along the sliding member.
They can be formed by rods or bars covered by a wooden covering 3 'of semi-circular section as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6.
The handles 3 are fixed at their upper ends to cross members 4, for example by welding, said cross members being fixed by welding to the plug 2 of the smoothing member 1. At their lower ends, the handles 3 are flattened and are retained by an assembly ring 5 fitting around the sliding member and tightened to it by bolts. The lower ends of the handles extend as indicated at 6 for the attachment of extensions (not shown); it is for this purpose that holes are provided in the extensions 6.
To conform the sliding member of circular cross section to a post of rectangular section, for example, segment-shaped filling pieces 7 are provided (four in number or two as shown in fit. 3), said pieces infill 7 having their flat faces directed inwards and the distance between opposite faces being slightly greater than the width of the post.
Fig. 4 shows a variant in which there are only two handles 3 arranged laterally.
In the sheep shown in Figs. 5 to 7, the handles are carried at their top by crossbars 4 bolted to the plug 2. The ends of these crossbars are twisted and passed through slots or loops in the handles 3 and fixed to the latter by means of bolts. At their lower ends, the handles 3 are held by two assembly rings 5, each ring carrying two handles opposite to each other and being in two halves.
The sheep shown in Figs. 8 to 10 comprises a sliding member 1 of rectangular section formed by angles 8. These angles are fixed at their top to the plug 2, while they are held by assembly parts 5 at their other end. Figs. 11 and 12 show a variant of execution in which the smoothing member 1 is formed by flat bars 9 instead of the aforementioned angles.
The assembly ring or rings can be welded to the sliding member instead of being bolted.
The sliding member may be provided with one or more handles extending across the top and extending to the sides, with side handles extending longitudinally relative to said member.
When you want to drive in, you hammer a post into the ground, as shown in fig. 5 and 13, the sliding member is slid over the end of the post or, if it is large and heavy, it is lying on the ground and the post is inserted into the sliding member. The whole is then straightened and the sliding member is raised relative to the post to the dotted position shown in FIG. 13; then it is lowered by means of the handles so as to bring the closed top, which acts like a hammer or heavy organ in contact with the top of the post.
When the stroke is adjusted so as to keep the ram in contact with the stake a short time after the shock, instead of letting it rebound, the useful effect of the shock is increased.
An advantage of the device described lies in the fact that the action occurs in successive strokes producing small indentations, that it is progressive and that consequently the post undergoes practically no deterioration at one or the other of its ends. even when it is stuck in very hard ground. Posts which are intended for temporary purposes can therefore be pulled out several times and driven in again.
To determine the length of the post remaining above or sinking into the ground, one or more detachable plugs can be adjusted inside the sliding member. We small fix these plugs in the smoothing body, by means of pins or nails inserted into holes (not shown).
The length of the stroke of the smoothing member can be extended by means of a sleeve part (fig. 14) consisting of a mandrel 10 having at its lower end a sleeve 11 of such size that it fits. on the pole.
The sliding member can be provided, at its lower end, with a rim (not shown) intended to tamp the earth around the post when the latter is pushed in.
A drilling tool shown in FIG. 15 is used in conjunction with the sheep described for making holes in the ground. This tool consists of a tube 12 or sleeve of circular cross section, the lower end of which is provided with a cutting edge 13 for drilling the ground. At the top of the tube, a collar 14 of hard steel is provided to receive the blows of the sheep described. A straight rod 15, on which the sliding member fits, is fitted to the top of the tube; it is extended through a central orifice in the collar 14 and is fixed in the tube 12 by means of a ring 17 or other fixing means. Ports 16 are made in the wall of tube 12 to allow material to be removed from inside the tube.
It is clear that the drilling tool can be modified and include, for example, in addition to the orifices 16, one or more holes (not shown) for inserting levers to be used to withdraw the tool from the ground.
Another modification provides for a wedge-shaped tool, with a chisel or circular point, as would be employed for penetrating a sledgehammer or hard surfaces, in which case the drilling tool may be solid.
