Installation on gas apparatus to facilitate the installation of safety devices. Gas appliances, such as gas ovens, roasting ovens and baking ovens, have so far been manufactured in such a way that they are either without any protection against undesired gas leakage or that ignition flames are provided for a single focal point or a special safety ignition device. If a previously unsecured device or later with such a pilot flame. If a safety device was to be provided, the entire apparatus had to be sent back to the producer and changes to the apparatus had to be made at relatively great expense and expense.
The subject of the present invention forming device on gas apparatuses to facilitate the installation of safety devices avoids these disadvantages in that between the gas supply line and the focal point of the gas apparatus - an insert is arranged on which one or more replaceable parts, for example screw plug , are provided. These parts are intended to be exchanged either for a pilot tube or a safety ignition device if the unsecured apparatus is to be converted into a secured one.
For example, the nozzle housing for one or more burners of the gas apparatus can be designed as such an insert piece. It then receives two screw stoppers of different sizes, of which the larger can be exchanged for a plug that is provided with an expanding membrane and a valve device. Instead of the small stopper, a pilot tube can be screwed in, which can be used either on its own or in conjunction with the stopper containing the expansion membrane. In this way, it is possible, with the simplest of means, to carry out on-site installation only by replacing some parts.
In the accompanying drawing, an exemplary embodiment is shown in section, namely FIG. 1 shows an insert of an unsecured apparatus, FIG. 2 shows the same insert with pilot tube, and FIG. 3 shows the insert equipped with pilot tube and valve device.
In the nozzle housing a, in which at b the nozzle leading to the gas burner to be connected at c is to be used, two openings e and f are provided, into which a larger screw plug g respectively. a smaller screw plug h is screwed in. The larger y is provided with a transverse bore i and a longitudinal bore k in order to guide the gas entering the nozzle housing at l to the nozzle to be inserted at b (Fig. 1) . In this way the gas apparatus works unsecured and without a pilot light.
If a pilot flame is to be used, only the small plug h (FIG. 1) needs to be unscrewed and replaced by a pilot flame tube na with pilot flame opening yt, as can be seen in FIG.
If the gas apparatus is to be completely secured, as shown in FIG. 3, the large nozzle g (FIG. 2) is also unscrewed and replaced by a nozzle 0, which carries the expansion membrane p at the top, which sits on the valve seat q. In this arrangement, the pilot flame tube m is also used.
The flame of the ignition tube m burning at n heats the expansion diaphragm p so that it bulges out and exposes the valve seat q. The gas can now flow from the connection l through the longitudinal bore r of the screwed in connection o to the nozzle to be attached at b.
Of course, the type of safety device can also be different from that shown, and a part other than the nozzle housing of the gas apparatus can also serve as the insert piece.
Instead of the screw plug, any other removable parts can be used, the only requirement is that the parts to be replaced are of the same size at the point of attachment.
