Tour.
Il porte les organes suivants: un dispositif d'embrayage 27; une roue dentée 28: une came de commande 29 du levier 18 actionnant le balladeur 17, tournant folle sur l'arbre 25 et étant solidaire d'une griffe d'ac couplement 30 coulissante et engrenant avec un manchon d'accouplement 30' goupillé sur l'arbre 25: une roue à chaîne 31 tournant folle sur lui et solidaire d'une griffe d'accou- plement 32 coulissant sur l'arbre 25 et engre nant également avec le manchon 30'; une came 33 'tournant folle et solidaire d'une griffe d'accouplement 34 coulissant sur l'ar bre 25 et coopérant avec un manchon 34' d'accouplement solidaire de cet arbre;
Tower. Known universal lathes are machines whose adjustment for each job to be performed generally requires a lot of time, which is consequently expensive. On the other hand, such machines are themselves very. expensive and when all their work possibilities are not used, their output is not proportional to their price.
The present invention relates to a lathe which can be used both as a universal lathe and as a lathe. recovery, while being of simple construction and easy to handle.
The characteristic of this lathe is to have a single control shaft, controlling the movement of three camshafts arranged in relation to the control shaft so as to form with it, seen in plan, a rectangle, which allows all the various parts of the lathe to be controlled from three sides at the same time.
This arrangement makes it possible to place, for example, the control shaft on one of the long sides of the reel the three auxiliary shafts on the other three sides, which makes all the components of these shafts very easily accessible.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example and schematically, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a plan thereof, showing the arrangement of the control shaft and of the auxiliary shafts; Fig. 2 shows in elevation and on a larger scale the rear part of the lathe; Fig. 8 is a similar view of the front part; Figs. 4 and 5 show in elevation and in cross section taken along the line V-V of FIG. 5, respectively in plan the arrangement of the tool trolleys; Figs. 6 and 7 show the control device of the revolver; Figs. 8 and 9 are detail views.
The lathe comprises a frame 1 which is only partially shown for greater clarity of the drawing. The drive is provided by an electric motor 2 which can be mounted on the frame 1 separately. The movement of the motor is transmitted by a pinion 3 to a reduction gear train 4 at constant ratio which actuates the members of a gearbox comprising two shafts 6 and 7. On the end of the shaft 6 is mounted a pin gnon 8 which is engaged with a pinion 9 mounted on the end of the shaft 7. The latter carries, on the other hand, a chain wheel 10 and a second pinion 11 which is engaged with a Toothed wheel 12 integral with a chain wheel 13 which turns idle on the shaft 6.
Sprockets 8 and 9 are interchangeable and allow the speed ratio of chain wheels 10 and 13 to be changed, which are of different dimensions. These are used to transmit different speeds to the working spindle. For this purpose, the. spindle 14 carries two friction clutch plates with cones 15 and 16 rotating madly on it and between which slides a slider 17 rotating with the spindle. This walker has two male conical parts intended to come into engagement each with one of the two plates 1.5 and 16 following the translational movement which it receives from a control lever 18.
Each of the plates 15 and 16 is integral with a chain wheel 19 respectively 20, the first of which is driven by a chain 21 passing over the chain wheel 13 of the shaft 6, while the other is actuated by a chain. chain 22 not on the toothed wheel 10 of the shaft 7. The chain 21 serves to transmit low speeds to the spindle, for example to execute threads, while the chain 22 serves to transmit to it the higher speeds for filming operations.
The speed reducer 4 actuates a pulley 23 over which a belt passes drives a pulley 24, mounted on one end of a control shaft 25, provided at its other end with a flywheel 26 allowing manual control of operations. of the tour. The control shaft 25 is arranged horizontally in the longitudinal direction of the machine.
It carries the following components: a clutch device 27; a toothed wheel 28: a control cam 29 of the lever 18 actuating the slider 17, rotating idly on the shaft 25 and being integral with a sliding coupling claw 30 and meshing with a coupling sleeve 30 'pinned to the shaft 25: a chain wheel 31 rotating idle on it and integral with a coupling claw 32 sliding on the shaft 25 and also engaging with the sleeve 30 '; a cam 33 'rotating idle and integral with a coupling claw 34 sliding on the shaft 25 and cooperating with a coupling sleeve 34' integral with this shaft;
a pin 35 rotating idle and integral with a coupling claw 36 sliding on the shaft and cooperating. also with the sleeve 34 '.
The control shaft 25 driven at constant speed controls, by means of the toothed wheel 28, three camshafts interconnected moderately and of which one 38 is parallel to the auxiliary shaft, the other two 37 and 39 perpendicular to it. These shafts are driven in the following manner: the shaft 37 carries a helical wheel 40 which is engaged with a worm 41 controlled by a shaft 42 on which a toothed wheel 43 rotates, provided with a coupling claw 44 and which engages with toothed wheel 28 of control shaft 25.
The shaft 42 carries, on the other hand, opposite the wheel 43 a helical wheel 45 rotating idly and also provided with a coupling claw 46. Between the two claws 44 and 46 smooth neck on the shaft 42 a slider 4 7 allows both to couple to this shaft alternately either the wheel 43 or the wheel 45. This slider is controlled by a rod 48 actuated by the cam 33 of the control shaft.
The helical wheel 45 is engaged with a worm 49 integral with a shaft 50 carrying at its free end a pinion 51 actuating a speed reduction gear train 52, 53, 54, the latter being integral with a sleeve 55 rotating on the shaft 50 and carrying at its other end an angle wheel. 56 engaged with a similar wheel 57 integral with a wheel, toothed 58 engaged with toothed wheel 43.
From the foregoing it can therefore be seen that when the slider 47 is engaged with the claw 44 of the toothed wheel 43, the shaft 42 rotates at high speed, while when it is in engagement with the claw 46 of the wheel helical 45, it is driven by the gear reduction wheel train 58 to 51 at reduced speed.
The pinions 51 to 54 are perfectly accessible and interchangeable, which makes it possible to modify the order of reduction of the speed of the shaft 42.
The shaft 37 drives the shaft 38 by means of an angle gear 59 and the shaft 38 drags the shaft 39 by means of an angle gear 60.
The shaft 37 carries two cams 61 and 66, as well as a sleeve 62 freely mounted on it, on which are arranged two cams 64, 65 and an angle wheel 63. The latter is in mesh with a corresponding wheel 67 so lidaire of a shaft 68 carrying a chain wheel 69 driven by a chain 70 passing over the wheel 31 of the control shaft 25, when it is coupled to it by the coupling claw 32. The cams 64, 65 therefore rotate each time the coupling claw 32 engages with the clutch sleeve 30 'integral with the shaft 25.
The two cams 61 and 66 control the movements parallel to the axis of the spindle, of the control bars of the front and rear carriages. The cam 66 acts for this purpose on an angled lever 110 acting on a pusher 109 of the front carriage. The cam 61 acts in a similar manner by an angled lever, not .represented in the drawing, on the pusher 120 of the rear carriage. The cam 64 actuates a lever 124 controlling the movements of an extractor 125 intended to bring out, at the end of machining, the parts of the clamp 126, the clamping and loosening of which are controlled by the cam 65 by means of -d 'a control lever 127.
The longitudinal shaft 38 carries two cams 72, 73 and two adjustable cleat drums 71 and 74; the drum 71 actuates, on the one hand, by means of a control device, of a known type 75, the coupling sleeve 32 thus causing the rotation of the cams 64, 65 and, on the other hand share, by a positive control device 76, the coupling claw 30 of the cam 29 controlling the clutch for slow or fast movement of the work spindle.
Cam 72 controls the movements of an automatic loader 78 (fig. 3) by means of a rod 77 (FIG. 3).
The cam 73 actuates an angled lever 79, one of the arms of which is constituted by a toothed sector 80 which causes the transverse movement of the front carriage, in the manner described later with reference to FIG. 4.
The drum 74 causes, on the one hand, by means of a control device of a known type 81, the actuation of the coupling claw 36 with a view to driving the pinion 35 of the auxiliary shaft. The pinion 35 is engaged with a pinion 82 controlling the movements of the revolver 83 as described below with reference to FIGS. 6 and 7. On the other hand, this drum 74 actuates by means of a second control device 84 the coupling claw 34 of the cam 33 by which the speed of rotation of the camshafts 37 is controlled, 38, 39.
The shaft 39 carries a cam 85 actuating an angled lever 86 (FIG. 6), one arm of which is constituted by a toothed sector 87 which acts on a rack 88 controlling the movements of the revolver 83 in the direction of the axis.
The movements of the revolver are commanded by the following members: the rack 88 with adjustable position in a sliding rack-holder member 89 and subjected, on the one hand, to the action of a return spring 90 re linked to the frame of the revolver and, on the other hand, to that of a connecting rod 91 actuated by a crank 92 which makes it move in the slide 90 'of the frame of the revolver. The crank 92 is actuated by a pinion 93 carrying a roller 94 intended to drive at each turn of rotation a Maltese cross 95 mounted on the axis of the revolver 83. The pinion 93 is engaged with a pinion 96 secured to it. 'a pinion of an angle gear 97, the other of which is integral with the pinion 82.
The exact position of the revolver, after each angular displacement is ensured by a locking device comprising a worm 98 subjected to the action of a spring which tends to keep it always in the worm position. The end of this lock penetrates into a housing of the revolver 83 corresponding to each working position. The free end of the latch 98 is hinged to. an oscillating lever 99 actuated by a cam 100 integral with the pinion 93, so as to release the lock each time the roller 94 of the pinion actuates the Maltese cross 95. After each angular displacement of the revolver 83, the ma level 92 and the connecting rod 91 take up the position shown in fi-. 6 and 7.
In this position, when the cam 85 actuates the toothed sec tor 87, the rack 88 causes the axial displacement of the revolver relative to the working spindle, against the action of the return spring 90.
The lathe has two carriages, one front and one rear. Each of these chariots can execute a transverse displacement relative to the working spindle of the lathe and the front carriage can. in addition still move axially.
The front carriage is made up of three parts 101, 102, 103 sliding one on the other and placed on a fixed support 114. The base part 101 is slidably mounted on the support 114 and comprises a cage 104 which is in engagement with the toothed sector 80 actuated by the cam 73. This crankshaft controls the transverse movements of the carriage. In room 101 is mounted a second 1.05 rack which can move in its housing perpendicular to the other. This rack is engaged with a pinion 106 integral with the slide 101 on which slides the second slide 102 perpendicularly with respect to the direction of movement of the first.
The movements of the slide 102 are controlled by a rack 107 of which it is integral, and which meshes with the pinion 106. A return spring 108 housed in the slide 101 causes the return movements of the slide 102 after each movement by the rack. 105 which is actuated by a pusher 109 in contact with its outer end which for this purpose comprises a rod 105 ′ with an adjustable position. This pusher is controlled by the cam 66 via an articulated elbow lever 110.
It has at its end a flat surface on which the end of the rack slides, when the part which carries it performs movements perpendicular to its direction of displacement. On the slide 102 the slide 103 carrying the tool 111 slides transversely. The movements of this slide are controlled by a slide 112 fixed on the slide 101 and in which an arm 113 of the slide 103 slides. Depending on the shape or position given to the slide 112, all the desirable movements of the tool 111 can be obtained.
The longitudinal and lateral movements of the front carriage are therefore effected each time the camshafts 37 and 38 rotate and the cams 66, 73 respectively, act on the control members of the carriage, in contact with them.
The rear carriage only has two slides 115 and 116 sliding one on the other and the first of which itself slides on a fixed support 117 of the lathe. The slide 115 moves transversely with respect to the working spindle under the action of a mesh ring 118 sliding in the support 117 while meshing with a pinion 119 integral with the latter. The slide 115 is integral with a rack 1.21 engaged with the pinion 11.9.
By means of the rack 121, the rack 118 is subjected to the action of a return spring (not shown in the drawing) which maintains it by its outer end comprising a rod 118 'with an adjustable position in contact with a pusher 120 actuated by the cam 61 in the same way as the pusher 109 of the front carriage. On the slide 115, the slide 116 carrying the tool 122 can be moved parallel to the axis of the working spindle, with a view to positioning the tool.
A peculiarity resulting from the arrangement of the control members of the carriages is the particularly long stroke which they can perform.
In order to allow, for example, loading by hand, the control shaft 25 can be disengaged by means of the clutch 27 which is controlled by a starting lever 123. This lever is provided with a removable stopper 130 which can be placed in such a way on the path, for example, of the lever 124 for controlling the extractor, that each time a finished part has just been automatically extracted from the clamp, the lathe s 'stopped.
Figs. 8 and 9 show a particularly advantageous arrangement making it possible to use the same cam for the control of different movements.
The cam is made up for this purpose of two discs 131 and 132 having .on part of their periphery the same radius of curvature concentric with the axis of rotation,. Which makes it possible to modify the profile assembly of the cam, by angularly shifting the discs relative to each other, fixing means being provided to keep them in the desired position. Fig. 9 shows in side elevation in solid lines the profile of the two discs 131 and 132, when they overlap and in broken lines: one of the positions: which they can take one by one. relation there the other.
Fig. 8 shows in perspective the two cams angularly offset with respect to each other.
It is clear that each cam could have more than two discs.
The operation of the lathe is as follows: The magazine 78 being loaded with parts to be sined, the lathe is started by means of the motor 2 and an causes the engagement of the control shafts 25, 37, 38, 39, by means of control lever 123.
The cams: 29: -and 33 of the control shaft 25 are set so as to cause, at the desired time and depending on the operations to be carried out, the engagement of the work spindle for low speeds or for high speeds. speeds, and simultaneously driving the three shafts 37, 38, 39 at normal speed. or accelerated via the positive coupling device 44, 46; 47.
The cams carried by the three shafts 37, 38, 3 # 9 then successively control the movements of the two carriages as well as of the revolver in the manner described above.
From the above description, it is clear that by the simple arrangement of four shafts. control unit carrying the cams, one of which rotates at constant speed and the others at variable speed; as well as by the arrangement and the special construction of the cha riots and the revolver, one can execute on this lathe automatically. the most complicated jobs by realizing a notable saving of time thanks to the variable speed of three of the control shafts, which allows to activate. the unproductive movements of the various organs.
On the other hand, the lathe can be used as a semi-automatic machine or even as an ordinary lathe without having to undergo any modification. The gears. reduction gears are interchangeable and all easily accessible.
The coming round of recovery. to be described could be transformed into a universal lathe, simply by replacing the extractor with an advancement device.
