Als A kommen in Frage z.
Process for the preparation of a polyazo dye. It has been found that polyazo dyes which are particularly suitable, well leveling and deeply penetrating for dyeing leather of the most varied types of tanning are obtained if they are built up according to the scheme
EMI0001.0004
where A is a divalent radical of the benzene, naphthalene or diphenyl series, B is a radical of the benzene or naphthalene series and C is the radical of an N-acylaminonaphthol sulfonic acid.
The new polyazo dyes have the valuable property of dyeing the leather of various types of tanning in very even shades of blue to purple. In spite of the pronounced leveling capacity, the baths are completely exhausted if only a small amount of acid is added; the colors are insensitive to acid or alkali and, under the action of light, have the valuable property of only comparatively little and not of any other shade of color.
In this respect they surpass the known dyes which contain, as the end component C, an aminonaphthol sulfonic acid which is not substituted by acid radicals in the amino group and which turn strongly to green or gray in the light, very significantly.
If a sulfonated residue is used as B to build up the dyes, the dyes are primarily suitable for spraying or brushing or for evenly dyeing, for example, on chrome suede leather, dyeings are obtained that are not or only very little when sanded down as a result of the excellent dyeing lighten.
If the radical B does not contain any sulfo groups, the result is dyes whose area of application is where only superficial coloring is particularly important. Both by suitable substitution of component B and by choosing the number of sulfonic acid groups present in the middle 1,8-amirronaphthol derivative, the divalent radical A or in the end component C, it is possible to adapt to any given application as far as possible.
As A come into question z. B. diamino diaryls, such as benzidine, diphenyline, o-tolidine, m-tolidine, dianisidine, halogenated benzidines, etc., as well as mono- or disulfonic acids of the benzidines, furthermore, to build up the intermediate compound from A and the 1,
8-Aminonaphtolsulfonsärrre the Nitraniline respectively. Acetaminoanilines used who the whose nitro groups BEZW. Acetamino groups reduced or reduced again to the amino group after coupling. are saponified, whereupon the resulting aminoazo dye is further dianotized, etc.
The following medium-sized 1,8-aminonaphthol sulfonic acids are suitable: 1,8-aminonaphthol-3,6-disulfonic acid, 1,8-aminonaphthol-4,6-disulfonic acid, 1,8-aminonaphthol-4-sulfonic acid. Any diazoizable amine can be used as B, such as, for example, aniline, its homologues or the naphthylamines, and their halogen, nitro groups, carboxyl groups,
Hydroxyl groups, alkoxy groups; Derivatives containing aryloxy groups, amino groups, acylamino groups or sulfo groups, and furthermore diazotizable substituted or unsubstituted monoazo dyes.
As C come into question N-acylated aminorraphthol sulfonic acids, which can contain an alkyl or aralkyl radical on the nitrogen atom, such as. B. N-acetyl-1,8-amirronaphthol-3,6-disulfonic acid, N-acetyl-1,8-amirronaphthol-4,6-disulfonic acid, N-acetyl-1,8-ethylaminonaphthol-3,6-disulfonic acid e, N-naphterroyl-1,8-amirronaphtolsulfonsären, N-benzoyl-1,8-arrririoriaphtol-3,6- or 4,
6- resp. 4-Sulforrsäur-e, N-Dichlorbenzoyl- or N-nitroberzoylarninonaphtholsulfonsäureri, N-Benzolsulfoyl- or Toluolsrrlfoyl-1,8-aminoriaph- tolsulfonsäurerr, N-arylsulfoyl-1,8-anrinonaph- tol-2,4-disulforrsäureri -Benzoyl-2-anrino-5-naphthol-7-sulfonic acid, N-toluenesulfoyl-2- amino-5-naphthol-7-sulforrsäLire,
N-toluenesulfoyl-2-amino-8-naphthol-6-sulfonic acid, N-toluenesulfoyl-2-amino-8-napolrtol-3,6-disulfonic acid, also the ureas of 1,8-amino-naphthol-sulfonic acids, the Condensation products from one, two or three molecules of these amiriorraphtholsulfonic acids with cyanuricarboxylic acid trichloride or cyanuric chloride.
Instead of the N-acylated aminonaphthol sulfonic acids mentioned here, the free aminonaphthol sulfonic acids can also be used, whereupon the resulting dyes are subsequently treated with acylating agents such as aryl sulfochlorides, cyanuric chloride, phosgene, etc.
As can be seen, the present invention affords a great deal of latitude, both with regard to the possible uses of the amine and naphthol derivatives and the number and position of sulfo groups on other substituents.
The present patent relates to a process for the production of a particularly suitable, well-penetrating and leveling-off blue trisazo dye for dyeing leather of various types of tanning and is characterized in that one molecule of tetrazobenzidine in acidic solution with one molecule of 1,8-amino naphthol -3 , 6 -disulfonic acid combined, the intermediate product couples with a molecule of diazobenzene in soda-alkaline solution and then with a molecule of N-paratoluenesulfoyl-1,8-aminoriaphtol-3,
6-disulfonic acid combined.
Example: 18.4 parts of benzidine are tetrazotized in the usual way and coupled with 34.1 parts of 1,8-amirronaphthol-3,6-disulfonic acid (monosodium salt) in mineral acid form. When the formation of the intermediate product has ended, it is combined with a diazobenzene solution of 9.3 parts of aniline to form an alkaline soda. After the diazobenzene has disappeared, an alkaline solution of 47.3 parts of N-paratoluenesulfoyl-1,8-aminonaphthol -3,6 disulfonic acid is allowed to flow in.
Coupling occurs quickly and the dye is excreted by Aassal zen of the neutralized coupling fluid.
After drying, the new dye is a gray-black, somewhat bronzing powder that dissolves in water with a deep blue color and colors leather in a wide variety of tannins in beautiful blue tones.
